- This song is just absolutely amazing in my mind. Shared with me years ago by The Tubes founding member Bill Spooner and wife Anna Spooner, it totally blew me away.... It later was released on Bill's "Demolicious" CD which was available on MP3.com, and perhaps still is, I'm not sure....It's been a long time, and I haven't found a quality version on UA-cam so Bill and Anna, I hope you don't mind.... : )
Bill Spooner one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet . Although I am a guy , I think its safe to say women would want a guy who is understanding and caring like the lyrics in this song .
Bill Spooner was the inspiration for me to continue playing guitar after my neck hand index finger was ripped off...practicing to him and the TUBES kept me from quitting both the guitar and life...I owe him too much to ever repay.
I like his voice on this one a lot!
This song expresses the "better human being" that is Bill "sputnik" Spooner . Bill is one the best of what we are , and can be .

Even in the wild satirical song "White Punks on Dope" by The Tubes which at the time Tubes member/co-electric guitarist Bill Spooner co-wrote , I like to think Bill put in the one sympathetic line about the rich kid drug addict "so lonely all the other kids will never know "

well hang on just a minute... this is the guy who Fee Waybill and David Foster said couldn't write a hit single?? Because this sure sounds like a hit to me. Awesome performance.

I dunno if I’d call him a hitmaker, but he’s created quite a few absolute masterpieces over the years. Love him!
I always liked bill "sputnik" spooner even with the crazy tubes . He always seemed the nicest and most sensitive guy in the band . This song is proof . He was also a great hard rock guitarist .
Thank you Bill for conveying through this song that some of us guys can be understanding and compassionate to 'the better half'. i.e. the women of this world
Bill played this at a super, super rare live show at the Santa Clara Convention Center about 15 years ago. I don't remember how I heard about it, but I was very privileged to be able to attend. I brought my son, about 6 or 8 at the time, and he went up on stage at some point. I wish I could remember the details.

Bill was a big part in the tubes, loved his presents in the band The Tubes are in my book of bands as one of the great ones. This song is his extension of that era, This is a great song!

I just love this song. First heard it recently as a cover on Kasim Sulton's album 3. This is a great piece. LOVE the guitar, the vocals, EVERYTHING. Wonderful writing.

I wish Todd Rundgren would record like this. The best way to record music is to gather great old tube amps and set the levels and play.

+Bruce H - I think you are right......I wanna say I heard 2 different versions, maybe 3 and the original MP3 I had I thought (in my mind anyway LOL) was the best, but I think that's probably on my computer that runs Windows 98, and it's pretty much crashed, LOL......Thanx for the comment, I love this song too!!!!!!

Thanks. I tried his MySpace page but couldn't pull up his music under the links. Is he under one of those weird record contracts where he isn't allowed to release music, like what happened to Poe? There is no reason that this song should not be released for sale otherwise. Its just too good! I'd like to buy it so l can help support the artist, and tell other people though social media, that sort of thing...

I'm pretty sure Bill has a "Myspace" with music on there, and I'm pretty sure you can contact him through there or maybe even his Bill Spooner website.....I didn't see this at the MP3 website or Amazon, but check these out first.....Let me know.
