+Dong Tianyu Haha! She offered, but I told her that just wouldn't be fair. If I'm going to interview "The Food Ranger", she needs to be included in that. :)
Great to host Trevor and great to highlight the art of food of Uyghors and by the way that sheep head is so delicious and popular in the entire region of Middle East . Also the Pilaf with lamb is very popular in Saudi Arabia and considered one of the top dishes in my country. Thanks Josh again for sharing
Hi there! I'm really happy there's a youtuber who is really showing and introducing my hometown!! I'm a student from Urumqi, I'm studying in France now, It's just really surprising to see that finally some good and nice images and introductions of my hometown.. I want to make some videos like this too,I will come back this summer, If you have time and want to know something about the life style and the traditions of the mongolian people who live in Xinjiang, maybe we can do some videos about it !! I don't know if you are avaliable or not though... I'm really excited about going home already, I hope that I can do some helps to better introducing my province!!
Josh, fantastic video with Trevor. Made me miss Xinjiang even more. Glad you are back making your travel videos after a long absence. I love Trevor's style! I will subscribe to his travels and food adventures. I look forward to seeing your next adventure. Take care, Bill
This was THE content that I was looking for. I trying to watch an interview with The Food Ranger for quite some time now. I wish you had asked about his background. How he ended up traveling the world tasting street-food, how he learned to speak Chinese, what his family and friends think about his lifestyle, how he met the camera-girl etc. But it was a good interview.
He's right - chatting to street food vendors is a great way to get to know local people in your destination and see their passions. I couldn't handle those lamb heads! China is a country I'm yet to explore, but one day!
This is awesome! I live in China too (Shanghai) but I've never been to Xinjiang. It's fascinating how different Chinese regions are. I loved hearing about the Food Rangers worst food experiences, I love when people are brave enough to try even the disgusting sounding foods :D Even though you said it sucked, I'd love to try lamb brain! I'm already subscribed to your channel and I'll make sure to subscribe to The Food Ranger too :)
wonderful interview and good sharing of you experience and both of your channels would go to next level with all audience taste buds screams to see this videos All the best!!!!!!
Man!! I am crawing that kind of travel right now!! Here we thought that the street food in latino america was bad ass... this is insane bro XD all the choice that you can find are overwhelming!! Amazing video!! I gonna follow Trevor for sure now!!
TREVOR A GREAT GUY TOOK TIME TO LEARN CHINESE LANGUAGE,A GREAT INSPIRATION TO ALL YOUNGSTERS,GOODWILL TOWARDS OTHER CULTURE A REALLY GREAT GUY I SALUTE HIM KEEP GOING ON !
I love so much what he said! friendliness of the people and food and people behind it - I believe is all about us - people- and there is so important not only to talk about things but people who created it! nice video/interview but some food - I could never eat it! ;)
Xin Jiang literally means New Territory. Unlike the way Americans did to local natives, Chinese have chosen a positive but time-costly and high-risky way of assimilation. The procedure is on the way and still can not assure its success.
👽Trevor, 2 questions.. 1. Do you think that if you didnt have such an amazing command of Chinese you would struggle to communicate? 2. You missed out Pakistan during your tour! Why?
Just added him. Love his videos, the food and the places he travels. I just wish he'd stop saying wow, giving the thumbs up, and moaning every time he takes a bite of food.
That's pretty cool that you got to meet the Food Ranger. bull penis soup? pass! lamb head? never heard of that ice cream before. would like to try that tho.
wow I been meaning to ask u to come to Mexico I'm from Baja California Mexicali Mexican food i think is somewhat similar to Chinese I encourage u to try tripas whether its in tacos or menudo which is s delicious trip soup enjoy our street foods as well I wait to see how ur video comes out from the biggest food ranger fan good luck
Trevor looks so humble, such a cool guy! This interview was great!Funny to hear his story about the unseasoned lamb head. Hahaha I wouldn't have the boiled penis either.
He was such a down-to-earth guy that I enjoyed hanging out with for the afternoon! A true pleasure - the type of person that you WANT to be successful, you know?
Haha! I wouldn't have liked the boiled penis or lamb head either! I laughed out loud when she said she eats the good food! I like his idea of sharing the foods with viewers and how nice people can be. Thanks for the video!
omg an exclusive interview with Trevor James!!! how did you beat out all the stiff competition from the likes of New York Times and CNN to land this once in a lifetime scoop?!
Oh give me a break :) I'd say with almost a million subscribers on UA-cam that he's fast becoming one of the top UA-cam travel food bloggers on the internet. He's a great guy and I was happy to hang out with him.
untwerf : Those people couldn't do a decent interview in the reality of Xinjiang, they wouldn't have a clue. Kudos to you both for great content. I love XinJiang, it will always be in my heart and calling me back.

2. You missed out Pakistan during your tour! Why?
pakistan is dangerous
Pakistan is the ultimate visit
I have to ask. What happened to going to Sichuan cooking school?
I asked that as well! He said it didn't go as he thought and it took away from the time he needed to do more videos, so he stopped.

Tingting or Chuchu, which one to cheer, that is the question.
And after seeing this episode, I'm leaning towards Tingting.
Cheer for what??

Interview serpentza or the adv China channel if u don't know him
Nah, I don't have much respect for those guys. Very sensational/click-baity just for the sake of views and making a living.

i wish that you would've asked him how many times did he get food poisoning and where 😅
Ha! Yes, that would have been a good question to ask. I think he has a pretty strong stomach, though ;)

stfu you butthurt. james is by far one of the best.
I came here for knowing his lifestyle and he is married or not and you didn't asked him that? 😐
You should have asked him what happened with his plan to go to cooking school. As far as I can tell it looks like he has dropped out.
Yea, he didn't pursue that. Once the UA-cam channel took off, he didn't need to continue that.
Probably not a great decision. Fame is fleeting and an education is not.
