- This easter egg is very interesting. You can get it by simply going back from the revolving puzzle room. But it has a very small chance. So, good luck on trying this :]

There's actually slightly more to this. If you start a new game, and go back to that fridge at the end of the game, there will be two eggs in the fridge, EVEN if you don't get the egg at all on your second playthrough

I remember finding this easter egg around the time deltarune released. I found it by accident. I was at the bake sale place and I was going to continue my journey but I thought it'd be a good idea to get some more food. So I went back immediately right as I was going into the next area and I found it

Well, at least it proves that the dark realm wasn't an illusion if you actually got an egg from it.
Edit: Additionally, if you haven't noticed, the weapon you used to have (Which was a pencil) turned into a wood blade when you went into the dark world. Which would explain why you would have a Halloween pencil when you get back out of the dark world because you may have bought the Spookysword from Seam.
It makes me think if Amber Cards are just bandages in the light world. (Because I think I heard Ralsei say that the item was a bit sticky when I gave the amber card to him.)
But that's just a theory. I can't wait till Toby releases the full game xd

Its a chrono trigger Easter egg
The only difference is Undertale uses something called a "FUN value", and it's random or not if you'll get it in a game or not.
Deltarune, as far as I know, doesn't use it. It's still random if you get it or not, but it doesn't depend on you opening the game to make it more likely.
It always appears, it just takes a certain amount of attempts.

Or it may possibly be that kris has seen gaster around town before and kris imagined gaster being kind to him. Kind of like another version of gaster but in the dark world. I don’t know if you get what I’m saying. All I’m saying is that maybe there is a mysterious character that kris imagines and it’s not gaster.
Really? Though the 2 songs are played on piano, Deltarune's one has more notes and is more complex than Undertale's.

this is definitely gaster related, the layout of the room, the fact that he disappears when you interact with him, the fact that the man doesn't really seem to exist, and the music is extremely reminiscent of gasters theme. I'd gather that that egg will be really important later on.

It's a chrono trigger Easter egg where (trying to make it have less spoilers)where the main character dies and the party with him has to get a time egg to resurrect him and the place where you get the egg from the man, is where you resurrect the main character in chrono trigger. Almost the exact same layout from chrono trigger to deltarune

Temmie puts an egg on the table, which is seemingly the first classmate most would talk to (as she is closest to the door in the room) not only that but it mentions that the egg is 'black and white'... And seemingly temmie is the artist for some characters in the game and had detrimental impact on its design, and W.D Gaster (the mystery man) is portrayed as being black and white. The mystery man behind the tree also gives you an egg.... Maybe gaster has a huge role in this game, and maybe temmie (the 'co' artist) is trying to imply this. Maybe it's a bit far fetched but we all know how Toby is.

Attempting to interact with the egg will get you a “what egg?” prompt which seems to be a reference to the “what pumpkin” joke from Homestuck and Problem Sleuth

The fact that the egg turns the pickle into another egg reminds me of the bad egg from the generation 3 Pokemon games. You'd get it if the game thought you were hacking. It's just an egg but putting it in your party causes your party to gradually turn into eggs, never to turn back into what they were. Putting it in your PC causes all of your PC Pokemon to gradually turn into eggs. In other words, it was a dev breaking children's games out of spite because they cheated (or got unlucky) in a primarily single player game.
Also, it reminds me of pickled eggs. It'd be kinda funny if Toby just put the egg in the game to make an "egged pickle" joke & he's laughing at all of us for taking it seriously.

Also, there's another secret. Look in the fridge (without the egg) and it'll say "Theres a jar of pickles inside. You decide to pass." However, if you look TWICE, it'll say "Theres a lone egg inside the fridge."
I feel that this is a reference to Danny Divito.
About the egg, if you try to drop it in the overworld the game would say "what egg?", after that the egg would "teleport" to Asgore's fridge, if you put it in the fridge close the fridge and then open it again, the pickle will have turned into an egg.
Edit: If you reject the egg, the game will say "then the man needen't to be here" and he will disappear.

I found it literally first try on my second walk through for chapter 2 without even knowing what the fuck was that
I don't know why, but there's just something interesting about the fact to achieve that room, we have to go back and forth between two room where one has an enemy who has a wing and resemble light and angel, while the other room requires darkness to completed the puzzle.
Took me 1 min to get there

To everyone who's struggling with getting the egg and it says "he's behind the tree" even when you're behind it , just go behind the leaves until you can't see kris anymore and press Z or Enter and you will get the dialogue where you get offered the egg
I was playing through this, and I went back to ring the bell to see what it did, but I went into that easter egg room on the first try!

here's something funny
When I was much younger, around the age of 9 or 10, I was in the undertale fandom for the first time. This was atleast two years before deltarune chapter 1. Obviously, I made fanart, a crap ton of it, not exacly the best quality. Used to be a huge fan of(and still am) gaster, so there were a fair couple of drawings of him. The funny part is, I remember once I started by drawing his head, and didn't like it so I scribbled some funny caption and tossed it to start over on a new paper.
Wouldn't you know it, the caption was "egg head/man". Just thinking about this now and connecting the dots, it's a little freaky with all the egg buisness in deltarune.

It's funny. I actually found that room on accident after talking to Star Walker two or three times. When I found it, I was worried it may have been a glitch and my instinctive reaction was to walk out the room. Then I realized that was the secret room and went back to where I found it. I still can't find it. I went from lucky to unlucky so fast.
Same just happened to me on a replay, I don't know if you can get it twice...
@@pinkyoshi9339Hi, Pink Yoshi. About the room, you actually can't get it twice on the same run. If you found it once, then hopefully you didn't save over it so you can exit out and find it again. If you saved after already finding and leaving the room, you're just gonna have to reset or restart your run. Don't be like me, I wasted hours only to find out this information later.
This room kind of reminds me of the creepy easter egg in the original star fox, where you get sent to a alternate dimension and your team doesn't follow you. both have a creepy vibe and i don't like it.

Okay so I must have gotten super lucky, because on my first playthrough. When I clicked the switch, I went back to see what it does and I was immediately brought to the tree room. I thought that that's what the tree switch did, but I guess not.
