Seems like the comments are divided on this for the sake of home time. If you want to stay on the road 24/7, you can make that good money. But if you want to be home as much as possible then you aren't going to be making a whole lot. Thats all there is to it, some truckers want to be away from home 24/7. Me personally, I'm trying to buy my first place, and I ain't going to be out 2 weeks at a time or even more just to spend 1 day at my home. There's no point for me to own a place if I'm never going to be there.

That dude was spot on when he said “it’s not just about making money, it’s a combination of everything.” Ive made the mistake of chasing money. Did life insurance and final estate planning, was making 3k in an hour convo some weeks but was working about 18 hours a day to make it possible. Thought money would solve all my problems but I was absolutely miserable. Anything I wanted to do outside of work would take away from the few hours I had to sleep, so I wasn’t able to properly take care of myself and balance out my life. Got pretty dark spot during that time and chose to leave the industry. Went to two different companies and both were run by bosses who put in less hours than me yet complained I didn’t do enough. I have always loved driving and now aspire to take my funds and start a trucking company for myself and friends who I know have good work ethic and want to better themselves. Experience dictates that companies just like that are out of business in a very short time!!! Drivers. If it sounds too good to be true, it's BECAUSE IT IS!!!!!!!!
Let me brake it down roughly cuz there's times I make close to 40k gross. You pay about 11% for dispatch fees and that's really low, so -$4400, fuel about about 3000 a week if u drive 500 miles a day, so -$12000, then insurance is about -$1300, and probably another -$2500 on food, eld, maintenance, pay tolls, etc. So you are already left with 19,800 on top of that if u something brakes it's expensive, loads are up and down all the time, and I'm sure there's other expenses I'm forgetting about, and at the end of the year you pay about 30-35% out of your clean money. So that 40k take home is more like 10-15k

That know every trick in the book how to make money and cash out businesses not to say this Company is like that. And as far as Them having food. Does it make them a good company as far as I’m concerned all that is self-indulgent. What’s the likelihood that all their drivers will be at their location to eat free food any given time. Why wouldn’t they offer free meals to the drivers that are out on the road making them petty cash meals.

After that i hit the road making $2,000. Per week.
Sorry to burst yalls bubble but there is no way youre grossing $40k/month as an owner operator. With the how crap the loads are paying, often well below $2/mile and sometimes even below $1/mile, youll be running illegally every single day. If anyone says they can get you this now either they have some godly contracts, will have you running illegally, or straight up lying. Its like the old saying goes; if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Stop looking strictly for $3+/mile loads, the market is not that good anymore. There is too many people taking cheap loads. My best advice is to figure out your cost per mile to run your truck and just focus on staying above that. Also dont get fooled into taking a load paying $3+/mile and do your research. Often those loads lead to dead end cities with minimal freight leaving. Which means youll lose your ass trying to get out.

It isn't a scam, I came over and leased on I haul dry van w/hazmat I haul 90% hazmat loads. I've had 10k gross weeks. u bring a high 5 net after fuel etc often. Usually my weeks are 5500 to 7.. 2 loads a week usually. Sometimes 3.. grab a load from cali paying 5-6500 and 1 more. It's simple market is booming. No bull crap I'd put it on the glass or share info anytime for some one thinking about here and the details. Was 1 of the best decisions I've made coming here. It's straight forward.. 20% pays all insurance etc. 80% is yours. Tolls are separate.. They give u load info and you do ya job never had a problem with being hounded etc.
Appreciate the insight
Waooooo! Interesting.
Whats the pay for company drivers ? Cpm or percentage? W2 or 1099?
They told me 60-75 cpm for company. Call and let me know what u find out
1099 . With hazmat endorsement its 70 cpm without is like 65 I think maybe 60 I'm not sure I never was company. Trucks go 70 company dry or reefer.

I just started trucking but am always staying in the truck.
Definitely looking for something that makes me better money for the effort I am putting in.
Im gonna call on Monday & see if they take me.

Always use decrement when people make these kind of statements. Always do your homework. Never let emotions dictate your head. I’m the kind of guy who would research statements like this. We called these guys and asked what rider policy is they won’t take my daughter of 5 yrs old and I need that right now.
These guys seem like genuinely good people, if the trucking community is anything like these guys, then we’re all going to thrive together. Keep up the great content. Thanks for posting this

THEY are telling you all the good numbers.....call THEM so they can prove it. Yeah right. You need to talk to one of their drivers or owner operators who is willing to show you several months worth of pay receipts. Anyone can cough up some exaggerated documentation...such as one where a driver didn't get all of last week's trips submitted in time to get it on this weeks check, so it goes to next weeks. And THAT'S the one they show you....10-12 days work on a weekly paycheck.

Chicago land trucking companies are always sketchy. I’ve seen way too many fly by night trucking companies rack up tons of BOL’s Then sink the company and cash out .Driver beware A lot of these trucking companies used to be brokers.

I like a good story like that 👍
And diesel is 60,000 a month. Repaired are 40,000 a month. And truck payment is 10,000 a month. Your doing great.
