What AI NPCs can do in Unreal - MetaHumans

At Inworld, we’re helping developers create the most lifelike characters possible. That's one of the reasons we created this MetaHumans demo -- so you can see what it looks like when the lifelike, engaging, and expressive conversations of Inworld NPCs power Unreal Engine's high fidelity metahumans.
This is the second part of a five part tutorial series on the Inworld Demo Gallery in Unreal. The first video was an overview of the Inworld Unreal Engine Demo Gallery and how to use it. Our Demo Gallery was created for developers to learn about Inworld via working examples of our features.
We think that living documentation in example projects is an easy way for everyone to learn. The Inworld Unreal Demo Gallery project will be continually updated to showcase new Inworld features as they're released.
The Demo Gallery is not a getting started walkthrough. If you're interested in learning how to integrate Inworld with Unreal Engine, check out the documentation section of our website and our Getting Started tutorial.
The gallery demo has a few examples already but we're excited to add more showcases in the future as the capabilities of Inworld continue to expand! We’ll go into more detail about each of these showcase demos in future videos. Find them all in the Unreal Gallery Demos playlist on UA-cam as they're released. Seeing as if it’s powered by chatGPT will the ai always respond with the personality of an “AI assistant”? Or will it able to become lets say a medieval villager, using their slang and grammar?
For example if I asked a question along the lines of “what time is it here” would the ai be like “our training model only goes up to 2021.” Or would it be able to embody a medieval villager and say “well it’s getting rather light out, and the roosters up crowing so ideally around 6:00 am” stuff like that?

From what I know, I believe it is using ChatGPT's model. It won't have the same training as ChatGPT, but it will have all the information it has.

And the main question is the speed of the AI ​​response, if the network is loaded, it is likely to wait a million years for an answer.

Not with our characters, thankfully! We have gotten complaints that the responses come too quickly. lol. Reducing latency is a very difficult technical problem that not every AI company is currently able to solve for but our team is made up of some of the pioneers in the field. If you're experiencing delays with our characters let me know as you're likely dealing with a bug and we can help you solve for it!
