Seiko SARB017 Alpinist Review - A Gentleman's Sports Watch Classic - Best Automatic Under $400?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лют 2025
- Today I review a classic in the making. Those of you who follow my channel, will undoubtedly know of my respect and admiration for Seiko's domestic specialities in the SARB line. To complete my insatiable appetite for these amazingly high quality but affordable little stunners, I review maybe the greatest of all the SARBs, the legendary "Alpinist" (SARB017). This is no ordinary SARB, designed for mountaineering in mind, or "Yamaotoko" a "mountain climbing Gentleman" in Japanese, this rather dressy number boasts a diver's water resistance, Diashock equipped upgraded movement, 50+ hours of power reserve and an inner rotating bezel compass all in a compact traditional size.
To buy one from within the USA I recommend only the best...

I think this is my fifth time watching this one. I know it's only $400 but as a poor college student this is my grail watch right now
Same here, I recently bought this watch and I can say it is the best Seiko I have ever handled!
I ended up sitting here looking at one of my handguns thinking. What do I want more. The watch, or the gun. Well today some guy walked away a happy customer with a new Sig, and I have my SARB017 on its way! Was a little painful, but on man I can't get over this watch.
Where'd you get it from?
European here. I'd never sell any of my guns for any watch on this world..
I feel you bro. I want this watch so badd.
Bought and sold this watch twice from 2017-2018, decided to finally bring it back for good into the collection in February 2020. Paid $400.
It is unquestionably beautiful and still probably worth around double that. I’d be hesitant to pay $1,000, but who knows, prices on these could keep climbing.
Timeless, classic piece at this point.
I asked my parents to do a Japan trip. They think I want to discover the Japanese culture. Little do they know...
Lol
lul JDM baby.
😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for the awesome channel. I have watched numerous hours of your reviews. I have stopped wearing my smart watch and recently bought the Alpinist, the Seiko SKX175 and the Orient Ray II. What is even better, my son, who used to dislike wearing a watch, now has gotten into watches as well. Thank you for the quality of your videos.
You're killing me! I had to buy this based on your review. You're right... there are few left. I like the fact this is made for the Japanese / Asian market. The quality level is through the roof !
I did return this as it's way too small......
at first i thought so as well, but i got used to it. I love it
how is 39mm way too small?
James Denton
Looked "small" on my wrist. This watch in a 42 without busy face would be perfect.
Too bad, they don’t don’t produce these anymore. Wish I had one in my collection
Seiko in my opinion is the best watch company and offers great watches at almost every price point.
@Truthfears Guilty funny you should mention that. whenever my friends ask me about watches I always say that Seiko is like the Toyota of the watch world, and Grand Seiko being like Lexus. Considering Toyota and Seiko are my favorite car and watch companies respectively, I just find it funny.
But now seiko is ruining itself
@@DaneLMusic I always own european cars so my watch collection was also swiss made. Once I realized japan reliability with my old 2003 camry(still driving) I switched my collection to seiko :)
I love Seiko but theres couple bad thing about it,like mineral instead sapphire over 500€ models, and too many limited editions
It's us$1,000.00 now (new one). And raising. Became a rarity. Thanks for the review.
Just got my Alpinist. Such a beautiful watch! And I also bought the Colareb Venezia Tobbacco strap. The Alpinist is now shining. Thank you so much for convincing me to buy this very nice watch!
Where did you buy yours and for how much
I own this watch and I'm still re-watching this video. Am I alone in this?
nope...lol
Any other color dials available?
nope haha
nope haha
me too lol
I bought an Alpinist 3 days ago and I was going through some buyer's remorse.
Watching this video has reminded me why I wanted this watch so much in the first place. Just placed an order for a two tone jubilee to replace the stiff original strap.
I’ll buy it off you right now. $460 CAD. What do you say?
Oh go on UA-cam and see what TGV is up to. Oh thanks I've just bought another watch! Watching this channel is getting expensive. Keep up the good work chap.
+Stewart Murray Thanks Stewart, very kind of you to say. I am sure you will love it!
Best regards,
TGV
Six months after seeing this review and purchasing an Alpinist, I still enjoy coming back to watch this video. A good case of wanting what you own and being grateful. Thanks, TGV!
The nicest watch I’ve ever owned. Wore it on the same strap and loved it. I sold it along with the rest of my collection to fund a seamaster and the others I don’t miss but that watch I really wish I still had.
Nice review TGV as usual.....Now this watch selling at $450.00 to $600 PLUS...! Just had to buy one, just a beautiful classic and gorgeous watch...! Waiting to get it and purchased a ColeReb band in swamp tan/brown...! Love the combination of green & gold on the dial...! In my opinion, one of the most iconic watches ever... A field watch that is one classy piece, that can be worn with a sports coat and dress slacks or in the field (which I'm not going to do, I have other watches for that!)… My mom's favorite color was green and she's been gone awhile now, so this is kind of my reminder of her... I'll think of her every time I strap it on.... Love it!
First...Thanks for sharing. I really like the 033, but i'm afraid it takes a seat at the back of the bus to the 017. The 017 is class in it's purist form. Obviously, a lot of thought went into building this watch. The way the subtle green dial contrasts with the gold colored numerals is outstanding. 23 jewels. I could go on and on. I hope you change your mind and keep that watch.
Best regards.
easily the best review of this watch i seen, ive had mine for a couple of years now and i never get tired of looking at that fantastic dial and hands, of all my watches this is the one that gets the most comments from people.
Three years later they're going from around $500 Australian (if you're lucky) to over AU$2080 . Saw one on Ebay recently for just over $1100 Aust.... USED!! Crazy prices, so I think my $440 was well spent. Definitely a keeper, and yes, the Lume is excellent!!!
I'm spending $1000 on a used one 4 years later haha, cheapest price I saw for one but I think it's still worth it. It's my favourite watch ever so excited to get it.
@@esrynshudder4216 And that is still a good buy!!. I still have mine and keep an eye on prices. There's a new one on Ebay for just over Au$4000 lol. As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters in my humble opinion.. :)
I had to wear this review as my interest in SEIKO Timepieces has! increased over the past few weeks.
As ALWAYS TGV, SMASHING Review! 👍
It's a striking watch, and great choice for strap combo, TGV. The only problem with this watch, for me, is that it's so distinctive I'd feel like I'd have a hard time coordinating it with the rest of my clothing most of the time.
+Mirandu Kan
This is probably a bit late, but I wouldn't worry too much! I wear mine almost daily and I feel like its not too distinctive to do so. After all, green goes well with many colors! But in the end, its all personal. :)
Just wear it
only high schoolers color coordinate their outifts. a beautiful steel watch will go along with ANY outfit
This was completely off my radar and your video made me take a closer look at this jewel. Thankfully Long Island watch just got some in for Father's day and I pounced. What an amazing time piece for the money. Thanks for all you do TGV
Great review of a gorgeous watch. If I ever wanted a watch with a green dial, I would get this in a heartbeat. And it makes for a really great wildcard watch.
This is one of those TGV classics. Always enjoy rewatching the old episodes.
You probably wouldn't have sent it back if you had put it on the right strap. That green on green doesn't work because it's the wrong kind of green. The dial is so beautiful and works so well with a brown or tan leather strap. It would look like it came right out of a British hunting lodge with the green and tan color combination.
eatabagel I went with a burgundy strap and it works so well...
I bought one just because of this video and fell head over heels. The honeymoon continues, thanks for yet another absolute top shelf video TGV
Beautiful watch, great review. I was thinking about getting one of the SARB cocktail time series, but now I'm torn..
Wow you production 7 years ago was through the roof! I have been watching your channel but mostly the ones in the last 2 years. Awesome TGV!
Thank you for such great review, That is the risk of watching your reviews, I ended up buying the watch.. in Amazon a bit less than 500!
Same haha
I just bought the Alpinist! The green dial, and gold indices along with the 39mm case won me over. Classy and sporty. I had been looking for my first quality timepiece in this price range for many months and found it with the Alpinist .. Thank you your review.
I am so happy I have one now... It took 2 years but it was so worth it :
)
Daniel, you are not alone , I got mine 2 weeks ago, and I'm watching this again. Love the uniqueness of this watch, though it does not keep time quite as well as my SARB033. Still , a very special watch.
Very, very cool watch. I'm like you and don't consider myself a "green guy." Maybe this is what we need to expand our horizons and maybe because a watch that doesn't really match with anything - will match with EVERYTHING. Another great video TGV. Keep up the great work. Your attention to detail, positive attitude, and work ethic will thrive in whatever you do.
tDS
+TheDutchSandwich Thank you tDS,
Truly appreciate the kind words of encouragement. It means a great deal to me to hear that.
Best regards,
TGV
Time to wear a watch which does not match anything but, since this is meant for the great outdoors, it will match everything.
TGV thank you for bringing us this review. This is the first time I've seen this model and I have to say this piece with that green dial is PURE CLASS!! I love it!
+MrJTactical So glad to hear!
Thank you and you are most welcome,
Best regards,
TGV
This is truly my dream, sadly I doubt I'll ever be able to afford one, at least in the semi-near future. I couldn't give a damn for watches in the thousands of euros but this one is astonishingly beautiful to my taste. I'm probably gonna settle for a Seiko SNK801 to at least quench my green dial thirst, and for my 1st automatic.
Why wouldn't you be able to afford one? 350 is pretty damn cheap. Are you a college student?
gmansplit $350? 😢 It cost $500 on Amazon now...
After watching your review I have ordered mine. Im really excited this will be my first quality mechanical watch. I have wanted one for many years so very much looking forward to receiving mine.
One of the most handsome/ beautiful watches I have ever seen....and I have seen a lot.
Bought the Seiko Alpinist and now have it on a Colareb Venezia. Pure Class!! Love your channel, Gov.
Love the alpinist!
+555 Gear I'd love to see your take on it! Please do a review.
chillwill120 Thanks! Maybe I'll talk to TGV!
+chillwill120 Thank you, an excellent idea old chap.
Once I have dueled it with the SARB033, I will send it over.
Best regards,
TGV
The alpinist is an absolutely beautiful piece, yet astonishingly practical. I believe any watch which does this is certainly one to lust over. The alpinist certainly is one of these watches. Another great review TGV, can't wait for the duel!
As always, have a good one.
+Chris Comiskey Thank you Chris. Excellent point, the combination of practicality and beauty is exactly it!
Best regards,
TGV
This is going to be my next watch! It's stunning. Great review. How does it compare to the SARB033?
Bought mine more than a year ago now. Owning this amazing piece has kept me from buying an Explorer or a Ranger. I just can't justify either of those when I own this. I have it on a bund strap, and it just looks like it's ready to take on the world, and look great doing it. It's definitely a keeper! Thanks for turning me on to this great watch, TGV.
We never got that duel :/ Would love to see TGV revisit this watch for that.
Ahhhh, how I miss this opening sequence.... The music, the mood, was awesome.
that watch is awesome I think of a old voyager ship with a captain wearing green uniform and a sword
I can't tell you how happy I am with this watch and even more now that I have that green colareb strap. It really ties it all together and I never would've known about these straps without stumbling across this video. I still may purchase the metal bracelet just to have it but this strap really took the watch to a whole other level. Thanks!
The Japanese are a funny lot, they always save the 1st quality stuff for their domestic market. I guess they see exporting their good stuff as casting pearls before swine.
LOL,
Thank you Mark,
Best regards,
TGV
Quite........hahahaha. Citizen the same,
Japanese have JDM due to limited quantity of production of their japanese facility. they cannot offer it to the whole world.
Germans tend to do the same with their wine I've noticed, bad luck with German wine selection in British shops but visit the Mosel region and they have fantastic quality wines to try.
Great channel, wish there was a review on ladies’ watches though...
Hi TVG- just got my piece a few hours ago, I watched your review first and then like 8 more on this watch and then I just had to order it. Wow--- what a great watch for the price, thank you for the free consulting! I now have my first Automatic Seiko to go with my Hamilton Khaki Field Officer H70615733. I also have a Debaufre Pepsi Ocean1 diver with ETA 2893-2 movement.
aaarrgggg that green strap make it look incredible.
Thank you David :D
Best regards,
TGV
@the Urban Gentry, May I ask where you procured this strap from?
I need this strap in my life immediately
For the same amount of money as a "top end" Michael Kors watch this is unbelievable... definitely my next watch. The green face with the gold markers & date window out line is such a nice combo and I love how it looks on that green strap too
I'm tempted, but am I the only one with doubts about the compass? i'm ex-military, do lots of hiking etc - I know how to use the sun/ watch technique to navigate but I've never heard of anyone doing it seriously. At best, its is a rough direction finder, so all those intricate bearings are pointless. So, I can't help feeling it's a gimmick on an otherwise excellent watch - an internal diver style timer or 24hr bezel would be way more useful.
Any thoughts, folks?
Anyway, greetings from South London (or as TGV and I might say, Saahhhrf Laaahhhndon). What a fantastic channel - you're going from strength to strength TGV, chapeau!
+kilburncounty It's def a gimmick but can be used for rough timing as well.
It's not that useful, but it gives it a very distinctive charm.
My son received his Alpinist from Japan today. It is very nice watch. Many thanx for the great review TUG!
So glad to hear, I bet he will have many years of enjoying that watch, it's such class.
Thank you Arnoud,
Best regards,
TGV
Man I hate watching your videos, makes me want to spend money 😊....Great job by the way, I think you blow your competition out of the water on quality/content. Can you do one on the Tissot PRC200???
I used to own this watch... My girlfriend saw this review and after 2 days of owning it and I haven't seen it si since ! Thanks TGV!!!!
The Alpinist is running more accurate because it was regulated better. The SARB033 can definitely be regulated to the way you want. Accuracy coming out of the factory just depends on how much time the watchmaker puts into it and how precise he/she wants to regulate.
+OrangePHX Excellent comment, thank you for sharing.
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry You're welcome. I'm a watchmaker for Tag Heuer. :) Just subscribed. I actually own a Sarb033 myself.
Your Alpinist have exactly the same mechanism as your SARB033 6R15,both equiped with shock protection, they just decided to dress up a dial on Alpinist with diashock signing.Origen of diashock protection comes from Seiko 5 line and most of the watches in a line up have same system even 7S and 4R equiped models.Great video.
+djolemerc Interesting, I read differently but will be interesting to see if its true of not when I open it up.
Thanks for watching,
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry, please let me know what is a difference.
Great channel, all the best from down under.
At around 9:00 you mention how this Alpinist includes a Diashock, but you should mention that the SARB033 also includes this, it's just not written on the dial like it used to be on the SCVS003.
I was going to say the same thing. If you look closely, "diashock" is written on the back of the SARB033
I am so glad for this video. I love the green/gold combination forest/sun connection. Nice addition to my new SARX033. Just ordered mine. I am catching your fewer for Seiko and watches in general.
This is even more attractive to me. I find your videos very educational. What started this was looking for my fathers Seiko I got for him who died in 2012. It went to one of my sister's boy. your video came up and the rest is history . . .
So thank you for your productions.
I also like your - What it takes to be a Gentleman - good values! all should aspire to.
Just pulled the trigger on this beauty, I'm calling it a christmas gift to myself.
Currently 10% + 3% discount on seiya Japan.
Congrats!!! You will love it!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Just bought this today. My first mechanical & Seiko. Thank you for introducing me to this watch.
It's not easy being green
Also the SARB033/035 do have diashock as well, look at the back of the case.
+Ettick LOL, indeed!
Yes you are right but after careful research, this Diashock in the Alpinist is an even more upgraded version, here is a really good way to tell them apart...
forums.watchuseek.com/f2/1-easy-trick-tell-high-end-seiko-movements-all-others-non-seiko-collectors-724650.html
Thanks for watching,

+The Urban Gentry diashock in SARB017 is the same as SARB033.
Or: Why the diashock in the sarb 033/35 is the same as the 017 indeed. I own both and have opened both: THE SAME. The marketing dept had you.
Diashock is the same on all Seiko automatic movements. It's the equivalent of a Seiko model having "magic lever system" written on the dial and thinking only that model has it. Seiko probably wrote "Diashock" on the dial for marketing purposes, or for filler text.
Great informative video. It was watching this vid a couple of years back that first made me want the SARB017. Now I've one coming from Japan. Can't wait until it arrives.
Pulled the trigger and ordered one from Tokyo! Exciting!!
Got mine today, you won't be disappointed! I hope you have a nice 20mm strap for when it arrives...
Nj45 ill be making myself a leather nato!
hear hear! let us know how it goes!
How do you order from Japan?
Geomancer i got into a conversation on reddit r/watchexchange. Private sale, got a great deal and it went quite smoothly so far. I expect it in the mail in the next few days!
What a beautiful timepiece. Seiko is such a truly talented brand.
This is such a special watch. Dressy but with a 200m wr and sapphire crystal. You literally getting a tool watch and dress watch in 1
Thanks for posting TGV! I saw one in one of the collection reviews you've done in the past and it's been on my final collection list ever since. Love that green sunburst dial!
+Belgianr0fl Thank you!
Very kind of you to say.
Best regards,
TGV
bruh the alpinist got me feeling some kind of way
the fact that it's discontinued actually makes me tear up a bit
ebay 300
I see it's on Amazon new...
TGV,
My SARB017 just arrived today.
I have to get a new strap, because the one that comes with it is pretty small for my wrist.
It has weight to it. The wind is fantastic. It's accurate. The ability to hack is excellent.
All in all, I am happy with my purchase.
I watched this video, as well as others at least 20 times to really decide on what I wanted to purchase for my first automatic. Thank you for your insightful review, and for your passion. This is a new hobby for me, and I am very happy to be entering the watch world.
Cheers.
tak178 I'm sorry, can you tell me where you bought yours I'm trying to find one available but I can't. I'm from Portugal.
The Alpinist is such a classic piece, perfect on a brown leather NATO
+Mark Alamares Hear hear!
Cheers,
Best regards,
TGV
+Mark Alamares Quote: brown leather NATO Where to buy it?
Just last week the watch I was eyeing up for weeks sold out. I started researching the Alpinist, fell in love with the green dial and ordered 2 days ago in fear of seeing it sell out like the last piece.
Thanks to your videos, I ordered a Dark Brown ColaReb to match too. I'll share it on Instagram with you as soon as it comes.
+Gotyoback OMG, its going to look amazing on the strap, nice one indeed my friend, enjoy!
Best regards,
TGV
Just got one from my gf! AWESOME PIECE :D
The Alpinist is actually the watch that got me into watches (and this is probably the first of your videos I have watched) and I fell in love as soon as I saw it but couldn't afford it. Now years later I'm considering to add it to my collection (SARB035 and SKX009), it's like I'm emotionally attached to it even if I've never seen one in person, not sure it makes sense. But then I see the Presage Cocktail Time Blue Moon and...that dial...need to pick one for my 30th birthday, can't decide! Even the Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm looks good but the dial seems to be way less refined.
Hey TGV, how would you say this differentiates itself from the SARG007?
Just ordered one from Japan because of your review. Thanks! I'll be willing to sell it to you in 2-3 years for five times the price after you realize what you did when you sent it back ;)
Great reviews by the way!
+Silviu Petrina Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Guys i need your help, WHERE CAN I BUY ONLINE THAT GREEN LEATHER STRAP FOR THE ALPINIST?
Ditto!
Colareb online...
Colareb/Spoleto collection? Let us know:)
Seem a colareb spoleto green. Right?
Now i watched this video ten times, i decided to buy this genius high quality leather strap. And this all because of you mister TGV. Cannot wait to watch a new review. Greetings
Do you know if exist a Stainless Steel Seiko band for this watch and where can be found?
Thanks again
+Marilei M Yes, have you tried eBay? Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
It's great to finally see your review of the magnificent Seiko Alpinist SARB017 and I can't wait to see your comparison with the SARB033. Don't send it back! You'll regret it later and end up rebuying it probably for a higher price or used. And don't worry about the green dial, it'll introduce more variety in your collection and maybe your wife will like to use it.
+Luis Correia I fear you are right, I will regret it.
Also the green is slowly growing on me.
Great comment, nice one Luis, cheers.

There are probably a few expenses when it comes to releasing a product internationally. Hence why the domestic models tend to be cheaper.
+Loftty OG Excellent point, never thought of that.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
+Loftty OG Of course. Just the same as the cars market. Most of Toyota's, Honda's, etc. have different cars on domestic market.
Cheers.
Wal Ada Yeah, many people in Australia buy JDM cars real cheap from Japan.
Thank you Governor. I acquired an Alpinist on the basis of this video, and it is my favourite piece.
Respect sir
Pure Class.
I want this watch on the custom strap so badly for my husband. I'm not sure this watch would be his jam. But every time I see it, I want to buy it. I haven't gifted him a watch yet. He's very much an over $1,000 watch collector/enthusiast, and I really want to open his eyes to the $300-600 range. I really do think Seiko or Hamilton are the way to go. I know there is a SARB in his future. Just which one.... Love these reviews. Also, I appreciate that if it looks good on your wrist, it might look good on mine ;-) Thank you for your commitment to your channel and all of us.
"Lucky enough to get one" It's 2019 and there's probably a thousand of them on ebay lmao
Still, I've never seen one in the wild. It's "wild popularity" exists among a group of probably 50,000 people world-wide.
How much was it in 2019? Got mine on Amazon for $445 pre tax.
@@wakawaka1976 434 with tax on ebay
Thanks for another great video. I had seen this watch about a year ago but couldn't source one. Immediately after watching, I went on the Long Island UK site and guess what, it was in stock so I ordered one. Can't wait to get a hold of it. Thanks again, regards,Danny
+Daniel McLaughlin Thank you Danny.
So glad to hear I could help out.
I am sure after the wait you will not be disappointed. It seriously makes me question why I would buy anything more expensive.
Thanks for the fantastic comment,
Best regards,
TGV
Great watch but that beautiful green watch face cries out for a brown strap. The green on green doesn't work its like doing the double denim: too try hard.
You already know my opinion on this watch! If you don't love the green it's a possible sell back watch however it does bring new color to your collection. I'm very glad you did this review. I've seen maybe one other video review of this watch and in the comments section people were begging for a more in depth look. Another great vid....general 😎 haha.
+JustinMiles17 Thank you Justin! I feel late to the party to be honest, I cant get over how amazing this piece is. You were a big influence as well as your great pics on Instaz!
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry I've contacted a few companies and sent links to your channel and social media pages. Hopefully the next one I recommend will be sent to you directly from the company!
Nice review.
Not under $400 anymore. :)
$512.00 on Amazon. $479.00 on Ebay ( new ). None left on jomashop. 500-800(?!) On chrono24.
Thanks for sharing! have had this in my amazon save for later basket for quite some time, looks like I'll have to make it official sooner than later.
As always, fantastic commentary TGV - have become a big fan after catching up on quite a few videos in the channel history.
+Brian C Thank you Brian.
Truly appreciated.

AlpiNist....Not AlpiMist
RJ Mosca 🤫 you need to be more quiet in life. Regards
No Daniel your not alone, I have this also, imported direct to the UK from Japan, and this is the first time iv'e watched this and will keep watching
I have to admit a green dial with gold details is the last thing I would have thought would look classyl. But this is pure class! Really beautiful and you've matched it very nice with the green strap.
+Guillermo Power Haha! Indeed.
I thought exactly the same thing!
Thanks Guillermo,
Best regards,

Great review TGV! Placed the order and came back to finish the vid...
Another terrific review, TGV, thanks! I've passed on this model SARB twice on Massdrop, and now realize I've made not one, but two mistakes! I'll be keeping an eye out for one. Absolutely love the green Colareb strap you picked for it.
+Stephen Scharf Thank you Stephen, bald to hear you like it.

Hi, TGV! Another great review. As a very happy owner of this Seiko Alpinist I want to mention the impressive history behind this particular model. It started in 1961 and went through several "reincarnations". All in all a truly fine watch, full of character and class.
+Chaim Magal Thank you, and so glad to hear from another satisfied owner.
"full of character and class" so well put.
Best regards,
TGV
Just ordered my alpinist, super excited for it.
only stumbled across your channel today have been watching your videos for 4-5 hours now . epic work , keep them coming :-)
PS: you have already cost me a small fortune based on this video ive just ordered this Sarb017 and a Colareb strap to match . cant wait :-)
+Fianoglach_ Airm Haha, nice! Welcome aboard!
Excellent choice, you cant go wrong with that combo, enjoy!
Best regards,
TGV
Those hands and dial markers look fantastic, a green band really sets the dial off too, this has to be my favourite SARB you've shown so far!
+Dean Spence Thank you Dean. Glad to hear,
Best regards,
TGV
Watch your review on the Alpinisit. what a beautiful watch - I bought it a couple of weeks ago from Japan. it looks even better when I see it first hand! best decision ever. Thanks TGV.
This is my first mechanical watch since I wore cheap Timex stuff many years ago when I was a kid. The Alpinist fits my style and wrist perfectly! I will dutifully service my Alpinist and keep it in good repair. The watch is very unusual and well crafted, especially the dial. In my opinion, the supplied band is a perfect aesthetic match. They are going up in price by over $50 since I bought it 1 month ago.
Awesome! I literally just got my SARB017 in the mail a couple days ago after debating this watch for a few months. Got a decent deal from Massdrop and not disappointed!
+Cody Cook So glad to hear, enjoy it Cody, I am sure you will love it, its difficult not to!
Thanks for sharing,
Best regards,
TGV
Hope you kept this one. Funnily, was nt sure on it initially, but upon reflection would buy it. The gold numbers against the green dial is quite exquisite!
I wish I had seen this video before my purchase of SNZH57 and Orient Ray Raven II combo. I am a college student now but hopefully will get a chance to buy this grail in the future (especially because my father gave me a very similar green colored dial SHF030); a little terrified after hearing about the discontinuation!
