Thanks, I can't seem to source these epoxy materials. I will be applying epoxy over a plywood subfloor. But you've not listed or linked the materials or supplier. This project is in Reno Nevada USA if that matters to you. Thanks again. PS: None of the local suppliers or contractors provide materials for epoxy on wood subfloor (its all for concrete).

I have an old house with asbestos residue on some of the wood floors. It was covered with carpet. A couple questions 1. How would you encapsulate the asbestos? Would you just pour it in an opaque color and do a thicker coat to self level? Compared to traditional flooring material, is an epoxy flooring more or less weight? When the epoxy is absorbed into the wood would it make the wood less flammable? Since my house is old I was told the wood was like “ fat wood,” meaning it’s highly flammable. I would like to use products that reduce the risk of my house burning up. Could stairs be epoxied as well? Thanks for your input.
No one in this industry wants to grind asbestos which is the main process in this job to let the material bond with the floor so get someone that specifically deals with asbestos knowing how dangerous they are. If u really want the job get them off and then you can proceed never by yourself the smell is strong. I grind before asbestos and stopped straight away even with a good mask. Also yes stairs can get epoxy
How do you mix the diamonds with the isopropyl alchohal, or does the product come mixed already ? I always get confused on the Isopropyl with diamonds and Denatured alcohol.
you have to buy the diamonds from them. buy the isopropyl alcohol from walmart or a drug store. put a table spoon of the diamond dust with the alcohol in a spray bottle and shake it really well before you spray it
You'll want to get the floor as clean and smooth as possible, fiba tape the seams, then patcher past them using this product > leggari.com/product/patcher-paste/ It's extremely durable but also a little flexible
I used Leggari to do my floor 2 years ago and no problems yet! I did mine a bit different though. I added an extra layer of subflooring (I think it totals just over 1 inch now? Don't recall), and made sure it was screwed down every 3 inches on the edge, and 8 inches otherwise. I also didn't use fiberglass tape, and applied a urethane top coat. There's no cracks or peeling or anything.
they use diamond cupwheels. they come in 4, 4.5, 5, 6 and 7 inch sizes. Need to attach it to a vacuum and they should have used masks. The dust is super fine

Here's a challenge for you: we have a space in an old engineering shop with heavy wood block flooring. It was a munitions factory in WW2. The blocks are laid on end, so you are walking on the end grain of the wood. Elsewhere in the building the floors have gray paint on. It seems to have stuck, but floors in the whole building are contaminated to some degree with oils and so on, as you would expect in an old factory. Given that paint seems to have stuck, is there any way to lay en epoxy or similar material floor onto this base?
Im the 3rd owner of my 1948 house that the previous owners enovated in the 70s and my kitchen floor seems to be an epoxy floor that is coming up in areas where the pet water bowls are. The poly coating was removed a long time ago from mopping so its just the glue/ink coloring now. Who can I contact about removing the epoxy flooring to replace with something else? Because the poly was worn off its impossible to clean with the pets in the house. The dirt just embeds itself and every mop gets dyed red from the ink.

Can this floor be put in a trailer that is the entire wooden house? It scares me because when walking the wooden sheets move due to the weight of the person walking? When putting this resin does it not crack, fissure or break? Thankyou
In our Flake Floor process, we scrape all of the excess flakes and remove them so that what is left is a semi-flat surface. The topcoat really locks in the flakes as well, making it a smooth surface that is easy to clean with some texture and extreme durability. 💯

A couple questions
1. How would you encapsulate the asbestos? Would you just pour it in an opaque color and do a thicker coat to self level?

Which would be best? Sanding original subfloor vs 5mm sureply underlayment over subfloor?
Same question as below...what grit? Sandpaper disc, flap disc, diamond disc??

Can you do this over OSB board?
Yes just make sure you do your prep work
How are you walking on the epoxy right away? Excuse my ignorance....I've never done this before but I want to try!!!
This is how! 👉 leggari.com/product/spike-shoes/
Could you use wood filler for the gaps?
It didn’t really work for me
What happens to epoxy on a wood substrate if have any settlement and can it be patched if cracks, etc.? Thanks
What type of shoes do you have on that lets you walk on the epoxy?
Is there any problems with the flexing in the floor cracking the epoxy or it coming up due to that.

@@stephaniedaoust2271 So you used 5mm underlayment like sureply? Did u butt the ends together? Is that why u didn’t use the fiberglass tape?
Wonder how this would work over a wooden front porch?
Are they just using regular sanding discs on the variable speed grinder that fit the size?
they use diamond cupwheels. they come in 4, 4.5, 5, 6 and 7 inch sizes. Need to attach it to a vacuum and they should have used masks. The dust is super fine
Isn't diamond wheels for concrete @@utubesuxalotofazz
But using diamond cup wheels ok on MDF WOOD? not to strong since those discs are usually for cement?
Has the Team done a durable non slip project on a pontoon boat's floor? I invite you to mine.
What epoxy coating shold I use for an enclosed trailer floor

Rent a floor sander and use 23 grit paper, you're going to need 3 pieces of sandpaper for every 500 square feet on a floor with all that oil stain.
What does this cost to prep and install per square foot on wood?

I’ve got a customer with a plywood floor in their garage. Would this work in that application? They do park their cars in the garage.
use a oil based primer on the plywood, let it cure completely before the epoxy and itll hold good
Can this floor be put in a trailer that is the entire wooden house? It scares me because when walking the wooden sheets move due to the weight of the person walking? When putting this resin does it not crack, fissure or break? Thankyou
I have done it and it is in my box truck and I'm doing open and closed trailers. The key is a flexible primer! The Resurface Doctors.
How long does it take to dry?
We recommend 7 days for full cure and vehicular traffic. You can walk on it the next day but it'll still be a little soft
That many flakes is bound to trap dirt and a mop won't pick it up will it?
