What a field Teleprompter beat that day! Greinton, Dahar, Al Mamoon, Flying Pidgeon, Tsunami Slew, Both Ends Burning, and did I hear Gate Dancer, too? I hadn't remembered he made some turf starts. Teleprompter deserves so much credit for beating that field, especially for holding off a determined charge by Greinton. So great to be able to see this again.
I just loved him. I was a kid when he ran and he was terrific and changed the RULES being a gelding. He raced all my favorites in an amazing career. RIP

Have to agree, Phil Georgeff was the best. I had many chances to see him work and watching him was as exciting as listening to him, he was THE BEST.

great commentator,first time i've seen this race,backed him that day but no tv coverage in those days in uk.
