For the back doors I used a 10" long plastic zip-tie. Taped the wire connector to it using cloth tape and was able to 'tease' the connector down, behind the sound absorbant material until it appeared in the window-switch opening. Undid the tape and held it in place while pulling back on the zip-tie. Worked like a charm for me. First tried with a wire hanger but wasn't successful...but your suggestion inspired me to keep trying. Again, great video and thank you for sharing. Oh, meant to say my vehicle is a 2016 RAV4 Limited Hybrid model.
Thanks, good video. Would have liked a bit more 'close ups' of the connections and a bit more detail on the use of the wire for the back doors...but very helpful to see this work.
Thanks for the feedback. The wire connections are very simple. Only one way you can install them incorrectly, which is to connect them backwards, upside down. So if the lights don’t turn on, you know you how to fix it.
The link you supplied does not have any RAV4 listed to fit. What year is the one you bought these for and are you sure your link is still going to the exact same listing you bought for your Rav4? I'm looking for a product for a 2016 Rav4 LE.
It looks like the part is currently unavailable in Amazon. Thanks for letting me know. I’ve put up a separate link for the same product in the description. This product would be for any 4th generation Toyota Rav4 (2013-2018). So yes, a 2016 LE would fit work for this product.
So let me first say, they are aftermarket parts. That being said, they stay on all the time and there’s no way to adjust them with the headlights or be dimmed. I’m actually going to make another video soon about some issues I’ve been having with them. They work fine overall, but since they’re not OEM there’s little you as the consumer can do about it. Follow my channel for a more updated video on these soon. There could be another manufacturer that make these with to be dimmed or on & off with the car’s lights but I haven’t found one yet. Very few out there.
@@how2foryoudiy What issues are you having with them other than that they stay on all the time and can't be dimmed? I just bought these from Aliexpress and looking forward to installing them.
@@MrHighIntensity79 So for me, them staying on and not dimming isn’t really a problem. But if it is for you, I understand. For me, the problem is that within 2-3 months after I installed the parts, I noticed that the window lock up/down switch would not engage. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. This problem is still ongoing. The other problem is that when you push the auto up/down switch for any switch other than the drivers window, it would dim the aftermarket light for the handle that I also installed and coupled together. You can remedy this by slightly pulling up or down after the auto push of the window switch. This is also still ongoing and I think maybe the two parts just aren’t communicating with each other. The third and final one is that sometimes the auto up/down switch can be finicky when you press it, the window will either not go down all the way, up all the way, or it may go down and then quickly go back up. This one really upsets me and is still ongoing. To be honest, I’ve never really reached out to the manufacturer because I hear so many horror stories about how there’s no customer service for these kind of companies and imo it’s just cheap aftermarket Chinese junk. I’ll keep them on my car until let’s say maybe one day they do just end up failing. They still do their job, kinda, but they’re never gonna be a good solid, reliable part like an OEM made in Japan. It just never will. I hope this helps and hope this doesn’t happen for you. But if it does, please keep me posted on what you find and try to do with fixing it.
@@MrHighIntensity79 No problem! Happy to help. The Amazon listing says its from a company called “Powerty”. The link is in the description but I can add it here again for ya. I can almost 1000% guarantee that even if the one I got has a different company name from the one you got, it’s all from the same factory in China. These things are usually mass produced together and then sold under different company names. www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMKZ3V89?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Do these door lights come on with the headlights and can be dimmed? Or do they all come on whenever the key is turned on?

@@how2foryoudiy wow! Thanks for the info and being very descriptive. What company did you get the lights from? Was it AliExpress also?
