Thanks for the video! really useful! I would like to know if it is possible to simulate a scrubber with reaction. I am designing a scrubber for ethylene oxide which reacts with water to give ethylene glycol. anyone knows the kinetic of the reaction? is it possible to simulate in radfrac? thanks in advance!
Thanks for the video but since you already mentioned number of stages, can we assume that you calculated number of stages graphically using pinch method and then use it as a reference in this simulation ?. If I were to design a scrubber in an industry, the important thing for me will be the diameter and the length of the column. how can we calculate the same in AspenPlus ?
Hi Parth! I am trying to design a direct contact cooler with Aspen Plus but I have not found any specific information. Have you found any information? Could you share it?
So when designing a tower for industrial application how do you determine the minimum solvent flow and minimum number of stages. I know with distillation one can use FUG shortcut methods that come along simulations, but with absorption and stripping most examples they just give the number of stages and flowrate to use. Thanks
The minimum solvent flow is based on the "pinch" much like in distillation. You know the feed and solvent compositions and the desired purity of one of the streams. Use those to see the line that intersects the equilibrium curve. The slope of this operating line is the limiting value of L/V.
hi mohamed, I also need to simulate an absorption of CO2 with chemical reaction (with MEA to be more specific).. please have you find any other video that would be helpful in this issue? thanks so much
Madam Christi Patton Luks, I tried to contact you for a tutorial of HCl-Water VLE in aspen plus, however I couldn't find your email. Kindly upload a tutorial for creating HCl-Water Txy in aspen plus. I need it, I have tried many methods but i end up with incorrect Txy. Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial. I will always use water scrubbing for separation rest of my life.
Thanks so much for this video! All the others are outdated. Great stuff!
Thanks for your video Christi, Is it possible to integrate information about distribution plates?
Thank you. Very useful information, helped me a lot.

Thanks, this video is really useful!!
Does this also apply to Exhaust gas emission control scrubbers, where sea water and caustic soda is used to treat HFO engine exhausts?

Dear Dr Christi Patton are these instruction are available ? in pdf form etc
mam can you do a chlorine scrubber on DWSIM software?
Thank you for this video
thank you Dr
thanks
but for absorption with chemical reaction (carbon capture)?

hi, im trying to do one for nh3 scrubber with chemical reaction aswell, did you end up finding how to do this?@@marianasayuri8048

I have a problem.
It shows results with errors.
What errors?
