Hi Ms. Patton Do you mind if you could share with the feed composition, the operating conditions as well as the feed flow rate? Another thing is that based on which book are you making this presentation? The reason is that you said "We're doing this simulation based on a book" while lecturing. Thanks in advance
Actually increasing no. of stages will not help it. If we can't reduce the reflux ratio increase the column diameter, it will solve the issue. If we increase tray spacing, then it may solve problem but it results more column height.
Hello Dr. How to reduce the amount of vapor at the top of the rectification column? The type of trays, their efficiency? I have a lot of top reflux in model the unisim program. I am asking for an answer and best regards.
Are you really lecturer? Design or operation of a Fractionator is a serious matter, requires knowledge and experience in many subjects. It isn't only play as you used to do with Nintendo. Education nowadays is because of lectures, students como to Industry thinking that they'll play intuitively with mobile applications. Is this the way you used to tech them how to afford a technical issue? Shame on you. Students no longer require your help. They now used to learn by themselves.
In education we have to begin at a low level and begin introducing them gently to these concepts. No student will be 100% field ready at the end of a BS degree. Our intent is to introduce them to the basics so that they can continue to develop skills once they move into industry and specialize. I'm sorry this offended you.
If you love your job - greatest probably as Physician as well - do better. You aren't helping at all. Nowadays students got other means to learn faster and much better. Education is declining everywhere but your attitude doesn't help. Good luck
@@pattonluks Why you don't realise it? Education is declining because of the wrong attitude like yours. Teaching is the most beautiful vocation -perhaps as Medicine - your way is obsolete and unuseful, students require other methods and lecturers values.
This video was very helpful for a beginner like me. Thank you so much, Dr. Christy Patton Luks. I am waiting for the next videos.

I believe your lecture is helpful. Thanks for your guidance.
If I have a problem of weeping (too much liquid coming down) should I not decrease the RR so that less liquid comes down? I was confused at @7:05
you would want to increase RR, as this increases the quantity of gas flowing up and this reducing weeping.

Agreed , column dia increase can be a solution.

Dr Christy Patton Luks thank you very Much for the more insight about hysys
Respect From Pakistan
DO you know how to link aspen hysys and aspen custom modeler ?
Where can i get crack version of aspen plus
Is there a way to simulate liquid distributors between sections of packing?
Dear Madam, I'm also facing similar design errors with internals. Please make a video on how to resolve this problem.
How do I access the handouts you speak of?
Thank you so much! Very very helpful!!
Hello Dr. Luks! I'd be greatfull if you can do video on simulating LLE column on Aspen plus and explaining ternary phase diagram.
This was extremely helpful! do you have a video on packed columns?
Have you been able to find it?
did you find one?
Moreover please also explain about Degrees of freedom in 2 component system and multi componant system.....thanks for your effort. Pls keep going.
decreasing the number of trays/stages works for me when i have this kind of problem
could you fine tune the trays finally? Because it seems you are kind of searching for the solution!
You need to use a 4K monitor for s screen recording
