I remember when this came out and Janet Jackson said it was her favorite song to dance to!
Ha!, i remember that too.
I laughed when I saw this because I tell people that story to this day and they all look at me like I'm crazy...
I was rocking the whole album with a mullet.
yelp! So was this guy
Long live the mullet!!!!
When this came it was Janet Jackson's favorite song and it influenced her to create the sound for her hit "Black Cat"... And if you've never heard it before. You should definitely do a reaction video to it
I know back in 1989 I had my head hanging out the window with my long hair with my friends screaming and yelling on the strip blasting this song....had a great time....not a care in this world ...fast forward 32 years and now I worry about everything... freaking blows ..take me back to the 80's
Ya just gotta let that crap go, man. Doesn't affect anything but you. Easier said than done though, I know.
I hear ya bro, take me back too.
I grew up in 70's n 80's and we never referred to Crue as glam rock. Glam rock was bands like Queen, David Bowie, Elton John, Kiss, New York Dolls, Gary Glitter, T. Rex... etc. It actually started back in the 70's in the U.K.
Not sure I would classify Elton John as glam rock. Eh, sort of, I guess. Kiss is debatable, except for maybe their short disco stint - more hard rock to me, despite the outfits and makeup. The others on your list, for sure, at least in certain points in their careers, in addition to the Bay City Rollers, The Sweet, Alice Cooper, Adam and the Ants, etc.
Crue is considered heavy metal glam metal and hard rock either way their my favorite band
Yeah pretty much just straightforward 80s hard rock. They weren’t even glammed during the Dr Feelgood era.
My era 70's and 80's. I was born on early 70'sc🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
"Primal Scream" by Motley Crue... a must do!!
Dr. Feelgood Album, great Record released in 1989, the producer of this Album was Bob Rock, same producer of the Metallica Black Album in '91. Check more hits of this Album like Kickstart My Heart, Same Ol' Situation, Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) and the Powerballad Without You. Motley Crue is also One of my favorite Bands, check more of their Albums like Girls, Girls, Girls, Theatre Of Pain, Shout At the Devil and their Debut Album Too Fast for Love. Thank you guys for reacting this Band. Keep doing great job!
Hope you'll do more Motley Crue reactions; check out Kickstart My Heart if you haven't already. Be ready to jam out to an adrenaline-packed rock song!! :)
This is a fantastic album..every song, even the slower ones are awesome
Motley Crue became my favorite band from the time I heard Looks that Kill in 1983, until this day. Ive seen them live 13 times, and they put on the greatest show every time....long live The Crue!!!
Next Crue video reaction should be "Wild Side"
I was there with my big hair jamming to this shit on the radio on the way to the club to see someone local.. totally loving life.. wish you were there with us!!..
Rockin out in the car with the big hair... Damn! Busted!! LOL
We refer to them as "Hair Bands" although I get why later Crue could be considered Glam. But I turned 18 in 1989, so what do I know?! Lol!
I love this damn song listen I’m 53 years old. I grew up listening to this music and I love a lot of different genres a lot of different bands, but this is one of my favorite songs.
"He's gonna be your Frankenstein." Great song. Love the 80's. Twisted Sister is glam rock.
When I hear “Twisted Sister” I think of PeeWees Big Adventure🤣🤣🤣
@@666blackcarbon9 LOL classic.
More Cowbell! 😉
They started out Glam rock, but by the time this album was released ( '89 I believe ) they were considered a hair metal band.
Vince: Dammit Nikki how many words are you going to cram in every verse??
Nikki: Yes, now hand me my 🥄
❤ MUST do song AND video of Wild Side by Motley Crue. The drummer is inside a cage that moves while he is drumming and it extends out over the crowd!! EPIC!!!❤
Have you listened to Wild Side? Also Sixx AM is a group formed by Nikki Sixx, they have fantastic music too 👍😄
the guitar solo in beat it was done by the late great eddie vanhalen
Kickstart My Heart Next Please!
shout at the evil - rattlesnake shake - same ol situation
1 out of 3 Shout is the only good one
Wild Side official video has the coolest drum solo stunt ever!!!!
A song that Michael Jackson into Rock was Dirty Diana.
All their songs Rock
The original bad boys of metal and man could they give a show
It is heavy metal and glam rock mixed together, but really it is classed as heavy metal like Iron Maiden or AC/DC.
C.P.
I have messaged his Hollywood management and green light shown! Tommy Lee autograph on the way...
getting DrxFeelgood the lp signed!
🤘
Bringing back the good ol days!!
i agree with Asia being able to hear something else in a song.. I think thats why everyone likes AC/DC, for example, because you can hear so many other grooves in their music.
HELL YEA, MY 2ND FAVORITE BAND. SEEN THEM LIVE 6 TIMES..
Awww yeah...the title track from that Album that came out during my senior year of high school! Such a cool tune, and it's so much fun to play on the bass guitar, as are many of Motley Crue's tunes (I love Nikki Sixx)!!! #Crue4Life
I jam to this all the time in 2021...
EDDIE VAN HALEN was the guitarist on Michael Jacksons Beat It
They are great in concert. Much love 💘 you need to show the concert Carnival of Sins. It's frickin awesome. Much watch. Much love 💘
I’ve seen the Crue twice in concert and the Dr Feelgood tour was the best concert I ever saw.
Me too!! And I've been to alot but Dr Feelgood tour was the best hands down!!!
This came out just a few months before 1990 no make up just hard rock, good reaction...
I find it fairly ironic that it is Motley Crue that sounds like Michael Jackson. When it as you both agreed. Michael Jackson used elements of the rock music genre in his OWN sound and songs. How about this for some FOOD for Thought. Eddie Van Halen I believe wrote and played the guitar on Beat It by Michael Jackson. So that IS Michael stepping into the Rock music genre. And not so much the opposite being the case.
Responding to y'alls comments, back in the 80's, Motley Crue, GNR, Twisted Sister etc...were all called heavy metal at the time. All these other names given came decades later. It the 80's, Madonna and Michael Jackson were pop, INXS and Huey Lewis were rock, Bon Jovi and Poison were pop metal, and Motley etc were heavy metal. Metallica and Megadeth were hard core underground metal at the time.
Great song great live show
When I listen to Dr. Feelgood I like to listen to the Terror in Tinseltown intro with it.
Here catching up…. 🤘😎❤️
So Eddie Van Halen is on Beat it- by Michael Jackson.
And it's not hard rock, glam rock nor soft rock...it's Bob Rock....all my 80's friends will get the reference. LOL
Heart Breat Hotel is the feel you might be getting with the riff
Glam Rock is like early David Bowie music, T. Rex. Motley Crue is Heavy Metal Glam.
The only thing Glam about the Crue was Theatre of Pain
Underrated album. Some good songs there.
They are bigger than The Rolling Stones.Tony
Glam rock referred to more of the Glam look from a marketing perspective. But their music was definitely front wave metal in the early days. You can hear it by the pushed beat rather than the traditional rock beat which emphasizes beat 2 and 4 of each measure - what everyone called the back-beat. Rock lays back on on those 2 and 4's. Metal pushes the beat by anticipating - at least in the early days. Lots of cross over between the two because the same studio musicians were being called into Rock recording sessions and Metal sessions.
Asia is spot on with the Michael Jackson feel... Bad.... "really really bad" is in the same melodic line and rhythmic pattern as "dr.feelgood"
Eddie Van Halen played on Beat It. Another vote for Kickstart My Heart off the same album.
80:s was nice
Dig those shirts y'all ;)
A lot of hip-hop and rappers “sampled” aka “culturally appropriated” aka “stole” beats, rhythms, lyrics etc from rock music. Constantly. That’s why when you hear the actual artist/musician/group that created the song you go, “Hey, I know this!” or “P-sampler used this etc..”. And the original creators got 0 recognition.💁♂️
🤣🤣🤣 FOH
Prove me wrong. Oh yeah, you can’t. FOH 🤣
Oh and genius? How/why do you think all the reactors pause so much? Too avoid copyright infringement.💁♂️🙄🤦♂️
FOH😂🤣😂
Reactors make $$ Artists? 0
FOH 👈🤯🙄🤦♂️🤣😂🤣
Motley Crue was one bad ass rockin band. Please react to Primal Scream and All I Need!!!
🙌🙌🔥I see Motley Crue and I click! You guys gotta do Kick Start My Heart ❤️, Primal Scream, Wild Side, Home Sweet Home, Live Wire, Same Old Situation, Piece Of The Action, Without You, Don’t Go Away Mad, think you guys did Girls, Girls, Girls and Shout At The Devil! These are some of my favorite’s! Janet Jackson loved this song and it help when she did the song Black Cat 🐈⬛
Wild Side & Kick Start My Heart... Official videos!!!
Is the only album that motley Crue was 100% sober on by the way it also Whitney Houston it was the number one album of that year thank you for your reaction
They had the glam, but were heavier than like Poison and definitely were less glam on Girls, Girls, Girls, and Dr Feelgood albums. They were crazy as hell. A lot of glam were just the looks and their music was weaker
I thought of Ditry Diana when you mentioned the similarity. Don't hear Smooth Criminal but thats just me.
Yep.......me too.......if 'Dirty Diana' was sped up.
Pertaining to the riff of the doctor feel good song, you guys might be thinking of beat it from Michael Jackson.
Come On MAN!! That's Some "HEAVY METAL"!!!'!!! Get Y'all's Story Straight!! LOL!
I wouldn’t call Motley Crue’s music glam . They def have influence of glam . But more in their appearance than anything.
You guys should react to live wire by Motley Crue
ASIA you are probably thinking about MJs "Smooth Criminal"..
I guess it pauses like Smooth Criminal, but it really doesn’t sound that similar at all 😂🤷🏻♂️
David Bowie was glam rock.
❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is the album Bob Rock made Metallica listen to before they recorded the Black Album.
Rhythm Nation..Janet Jackson
Play Curtis Mayfield's Pusher Man to feel the difference between the 80's and the 70's.
Slash Has entered the chat
The drummer was Tommy Lee. He was married to Pamela Anderson. They had like the very first sex tape, on a boat, he had like a 10 inch rod lol, steering the boat with it and shit. Everybody had a VHS copy from a friend 😂
Saw the tape way back in the day. He’s got the length but not the width. Js. Wifey #3 likes it so🤷🏾♀️
@@mztweety1374 I was like 11, so it looked impressive 🤷🏻♂️😂
The Jackson 5 was definitely NOT the ‘80’s! That would have been the late ‘60’s-early ‘70’s, but I see what you were saying.
Maybe you are thinking of MJ's song Dirty Diana?
Hair band for ages
If Michael Jackson did heavy metal! 😂👍🏼
Good song, but we want to see the videos. Much love 💘
Awesome song yay 🤘😆🤘👍😎
good pick, but looks that kill or live wire are even better picks
This is 80’s metal, far from Glam rock. Poison, warrant, Tesla, Cinderella, and firehouse are a few glam bands. And it’s not just the 80’s. The 70’s is where it started. David Bowie for one.
aw man id finally forgot about Firehouse......I admit i liked Poison (I was 12).....The 80s was loud....visually and acoustically
Uh, Tesla is/was Not a glam band & Cinderella was a Bluesy/Hard Rock band that was forced to dress glam. You're right about th rest though & th New York Dolls, Bowie, Van Halen ( Roth especially) ushered in that glam b.s. To me, it was a spin-off of Alice Cooper & KISS, respectively, w/ their Shock- Rock personnas. It always pissed me off b/c my parents thought my music was bizarre, & I couldn't even show a picture of most bands b/c they all looked like cross-dressers on their way to a dragshow!😖
@@gizzy2403 no way Van Halen was glam. David had charisma.
@@scottlaughlin9897 I luv Van Halen but Dave dressed pretty, damn glamorous! Alot of pink spandex & hair spray. I still think Dave is closet gay. Late 60s never married, no kids...come on
Hey Asia and BJ, I'm a fan of both of you. I love what you do, in regard to your respectful and inspiring reactions. Perhaps I missed the reason why you've change from no longer using headphones, but since you made such a change, the sound quality from the UA-cam viewers'/listeners' standpoint is poorer quality compared to the excellent past quality you have always transmitted prior to removing your headphones. Obviously, I can't help you or technically troubleshoot from my vantage point, but I'm sure you can figure it out and resolve it. Perhaps this has already been brought to your attention by other viewers (?).
Mick Mars too underrated
Yeah, you're right. I think Michael heard a more Rock edge in his head than anything else as he wrote. Most of his music transfers to rock really easy. And he did like you said, incorporated lots of rock element. Lot of heavy guitar, and Moffett is one of the best drummers of any genre.
Motley Crue broke out of Glam on that record.
A song about their herion dealer
Go Tommy Lee.Tony
You guys are missing out by not watching the videos
What's up with the audio guy's?
give me a break!!! whitney houston????
Fu?! copyright! 😂👍🏼🤘
It was called hair metal at the time.
Hair metal / hair band was made up terms after grunge took over and used as a put down to 80s hard rock bands
heavy metal.
This was a great song… but….not everyone you mentioned survived their Dr. Feelgood and I wish they hadn’t met.
Comments at the end are nice. Not every 10 seconds with a pause of the music not so much. Skipped before a minute in.
Not everything is comparable to m.j.
Y can't y'all show videos ? Everbody else does
Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc.
Oh man I was just about comment that Smooth Criminal was the only MJ song I could think of with remotely similar vibes and then Asia said right as I started typing
MJ biggest hit is Beat It. Mike asked Eddie Van Halen to do the guitar solo and Eddie rearrange the whole track did his part without credit and left a final product you and I know as Beat It. Yes MJ did have a rock element to his sound.
You should've shown the video. Don't censor.
