Yep - one new leaf in and one old leaf out - total 5 (for a while there was six). I didn't think to take measurements but have tucked some away ready for next year. Boy is this one SLOW!
Just subscribed to your channel and to John’s after seeing Roger’s update, then Dani’s and now yours. I am a latecomer to the orchid scene but have fallen in head-over-heels. So glad your husband brought you the wounded Phal. Sounds like in your care, she’ll be a lucky lady. She’s a beauty.
This is so neat, I can't believe it has been 2 years already, I believe that is when I subscribed to you, Roger and John. Nice to have been on this journey with you for so long.
It's looking great,!! Sadly mine died when I transitioned from growing under lights for a year..semi hydroponically... indoors to my new greenhouse. I live in Las Vegas....we've had a hot. summer..
Interesting! I've seen all the updates 😃 too bad it is so slow...I happened to get a vid on utube feed that spotlighted this orchid and its 2 !! blooms-- amazing. The plant was quite large ( more than 5 leaves by many!) But also about 20 years old. The spikes dangle down very long and are strangely rubbery. Unusual plant--- which is usual for orchids! 😁
Great vid! I love seeing how these are progressing! I tried to stay focused on the subject but the minute I noticed that your poor Phal (to the right) had been staked through her leaf I couldn’t stop looking at it. 😞 I guess I picked the name Phalaenopsis Queen for a reason, I have a huge soft spot for these peasants. Your doing fantastic with your lowii! 😊
Haha. I forgot to hide that leaf in this video. Poor, poor plant. It came like that as a present from my husband and, in fairness, he chose a phal with good roots so I really can't complain. Thanks for watching.
Well, at least it is still alive and growing, even if it is slow! I just bought a Dim. rossii seedling that is about the same size as your plant two years ago. I've also got a Vandopsis lissochiloides seedling I bought middle of last year. The latter is also agonizingly slow growing. And I notice the Rene Marques hybrid blooms are open now. Doesn't look much like the only pic of that cross on Google, still looks a lot like Rene Marques. Do you like it now that you can see the blooms?
Hi Michael. I am absolutely delighted with my Rene Marquez hybrid. From my point of view, I wanted Rene Marquez so this is the best outcome. I love the flowers with their random splodges of pink. I will make a video when the third one opens.

It's like watching paint dry. But pretty paint 🤣

This collaboration is very interesting, thank you so much!
Glad you like it, Thanks for watching.
I was just thinking about this plant the other day and wondering how it was doing. Thanks for the update.
We must have picked up your train of thought telepathically! Thank you for tuning in.

So sorry to hear that. They are expensive plants. Mine is still quite small.

Yes, a very slow growing orchid that eventually gets enormous. A bit like a tree. Thanks for watching.

Fun! 10 cm = 4 inches. :)
Yeah, I wrote the correction on the screen. Thanks for watching.
I wonder if everybody is doing an update? it's looking good, but you are right" patiences" how many more years before you think it might bloom?
Denise, I have no idea how many more years until flowering. But it will be lots, that's for sure! Thanks for watching.
I found three nurseries that have them, they send them in a matchbox 😊
lol 🤣
@@GardeningatDouentza 😊
Any idea how long it is take to grow until it is big enough to flower ?
Maybe 8 years. I know!
@@GardeningatDouentza Not so bad then ! We have lots of patience 😁
