    Lovely moments of beauty. Frances Fox is amazing, I have it in my wish list for next year. Yours is so so beautiful, loved it. Congratulations on your Catt.mossiae, it was worthwhile waiting. Lovely garden you have and it matured so much in 7 years, it was interesting the comparison you made. That white spotted Paph is so adorable and your Masdevallia is surely earning her keep, so beautiful.

    What a difference seven years make! Here's to hoping your cattleya was worth it, I'm sure it will be 😊. The Francis Fox is gorgeous, I procured a seedling this spring, hopefully I will not have to wait 7 years! Thanks for posting, I always enjoy your videos.

      Gardening at Douentza for Easter we had a beautiful sun and very warm weather. Now it’s been rainy all day and looks like November! But hopefully in a couple of days the sun will shine again. You’re inspiring me with doing things around in my garden, I’ve never been very good at working outside but I think that working with dirt may take some weight off of my heart...

      Yes, I think you are right. I people are supposed to work with dirt. The need is deep down inside us. Take care xx

      Thank you for watching and your lovely comment. I recently bought two camellias. Are these the ones you want an update on? One is still in the pot but the white one has been planted in the garden and you can see it in this video, which you may have missed...

    I really like the Orchid @6:29 Hoiku Twinkle I know this video is Orchids but can I ask if your Amalancher Trees have set any fruit yet? Ours has the start of tiny Berries already. I cannot remember them flowering so early before and the flowers even survived a hard frost of -3.2c I must also say from 2012 to 2019 You have created a fantastic Garden in 7 years. it looks even better now. Look how much those trees have grown and added structure, Amazing work there,

      Hi there. I have never noticed fruit on my amalanchier trees. One is in flower now and the second is gone over a while. Tomorrow morning I will check it for fruit. Happy growing!

    Congrats on the C. mossiae bloom. I hope it exceeds your expectations when it is fully open. The Paphs are looking nice, the new one from Schwerter is adorable.

    Hi Rachel, such glorious blooms! I just bought a young Frances Fox, the canes are not even half the size of yours, so it may take a few years! Could you please do an update on your bleach treated plants, did they survive? I am considering applying this treatment to a paph , this plant came to me from the Botanical gardens with a good dose of thrips ,and the critters found a way to at least two more orchids .Thank you!

    I hope my C. mossiae doesn't take that long to bloom. I have had it now 3 years. I wish it was as easy blooming as my C. trianae. It grows and blooms two pseudobulbs a year that each repeat the cycle. It is very fast becoming a specimen size plant. Love the Frances Fox .... love all your orchids you just have a lovely selection of different ones. Thanks for sharing.

    So beautiful. Yes, F Fox is dreamy, I'd love one too. Yes, something about orange orchids-- me too, love them, and apricot and salmon colours. Love the Paphs! And the Cochliata. And well everything. And too about the white phal...I think splashes of white are pretty punctuations in a flower display. 😁

    I have a Deperle -the white one, not the pink, but it took at least 3 monthsfor the spike to develop and to flower - but it was so worth the wait - enjoy!

    At my age, waiting 7 years is To Long...that's why I like to get mature blooming age plants, but now with limited space, I prefer the Mini's..more plants in a compact area. 😄 I do miss growing the larger one's though like I did when younger with space and greenhouses.

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  5 років тому +1

      Well, my cattleya was supposed to be flowering size. What can I say! Minis are great and they're also nice and light for watering. Happy growing, Robert.

    Beautiful! My frances Fox is going down hill, some sort of fungal rot. I have 2 small shriveled bulbs with wilting leaves left. I really hope to nurse it back. 😭

      I'm very sorry to hear that. I hope she makes it but sometimes there is nothing we can do to save a plant. Good luck.

    That 18 minutes went fast, Rachel.
    Very excited for your mossiae. Any idea what woke it up this year?

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  5 років тому

      Well, I hope that means that you were enjoying the video.
      I have no idea why my mossiae decided to finally play ball. It had spent the summer in the greenhouse so that would have ensured good light. However it had spent other summers in the greenhouse. Maybe it hadn't been mature enough to flower when it originally spent the summer in the greenhouse, despite having been bought as 'flowering size. I really don't know! But it's good news.

    So excited about your “blue” mossiae! I love the blue-purple range and have quite a few coerulea forms of Cattleya species and hybrids, but not all are flowering sized. Hope I won’t have to wait 7 years with them all. Btw., I love Psychopsis as well. Have you noticed that they are fragrant? Mine give off the faintest perfume at noon.

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  5 років тому

      I hope you won't have to wait seven years either. I will look out for the psychopsis scent. Thanks for watching.
