Get on the job up my back passage.....Young man, at my age, at your age, at our age. A masterpiece of British comedy, played to perfection by comedy geniuses.
+Author A.K. Morgan Yes, bit it is not so good as the one where they are at a gas station. speaking double to a young man who fills their car up with gasoline.
Oh, I never understood that one; until I read this...thanks! I am so sad that they funniest they made; ''Old ladies at the gas station'' has dissapeared. Where can I find a DVD instead?
Back in the early 90's when I was an electrician I regularly visited two spinster-sisters like this! One time they offered to hold my step-ladder when I jumped up into the attic... five minutes later after I had thread my cables I jumped back down without the ladder... they were both visibly flushed and one exclaimed to the other that I looked like a young Robert Donat and I was lucky they couldn't run any more! 😳🤣🇬🇧 I remember this because I had no idea who Robert Donat was at the time, so I had to ask my grandmother. I still have several copies of The 39 Steps on VHS.
Not sure if anyone else noticed it but the guy playing the gas man starts to laugh himself right near the end of this sketch, obviously found it hilarious
I bet they had fun with fits off laughter whilst recording these scenes ...love Kathy ,Harry and gasman . Never get bored off watching these . Please bring back ...or repeat if necessary.. I could do with a tonic 😂😅😊😂😊 xxx
That used to be the British Gas marketing slogan at the time this was originally broadcast. Surprised that the BBC allowed it, with their strict rules on advertising.
@@stewart_fisher Because British Gas wasn't named. It's classed as fair use for comedy of recognition. BBC shows have since used company names anyway- e.g. in Alan Partridge. @davecooper3238 I recently found an old hymary of mine that I got from the end of term Sunday School in 1977 when I was 9. I had wrote in its back page. It said "Go to bed no later than 10.35pm on Schooldays. Don't be greedy only 30p pocket money per day". No wonder I was exhausted in the mornings and lost half my teeth by 14.

This is really funny because it is two sweet old ladies. If it was two old men, they would be called dirty old men and would not be funny. Two of Harry Enfields funniest characters.
The funniest and similar sketch they did was 'Two old ladies at the gasstation'' and it has been removed from every single list and cannot be found anywhere. Anybody could post it or tell what DVD to buy with it?

This is one of the reasons I have lived in America since 1967, and have kept my British citizenship.🇬🇧🇬🇧
Back in the days when 9pm truly meant bedtime for kids, so that their parents can enjoy watching these kind of jokes on the telly. 😂
I remember in primary school we got banned from quoting this show because it was annoying the teachers too much.
Up until I left school at 15 my bedtime was 9 PM. I then went to live in an apprentice hotel that did not have a fixed lights out/bedtime.
