Final boss put me through the ringer mentally lol I had a controller that was ready to be thrown out so let’s just say after dying for 3 hours straight. I helped facilitate the controller to the afterlife 😂
I don't play multiplayer games anymore, ive noticed it made me more annoyed than happy. Most of the time I was just raging whereas with singleplayer games I just chill and get immersed in the world and story
I play some co-op games, but even in those I find myself getting exhausted because I have to rely on other people for a variety of different things like playing at specific times (coordinating 3 other people isn't that easy), and just generally having to do what other people want to do in the game, rather than what I want to do. Single player is usually the solution to the problem. I can do whatever I want and play a game exactly how I please without being tied down by anyone else or getting enraged at the people who put every ounce of their energy into being the top 0.1% in any given game. You know the people and you know the games. They love the '"well, maybe you just suck at the game" argument, when in reality anyone can be as good as the next person if they put in the time. But what's the incentive? Riddle me that.
Coop brings the best out of humanity. I always preferred coop from the start, because we are sharing a common goal, against something that isn’t human.
My guy delivered the "dont do multiplayer FPS, but do nice single player games instead" so smoothly, i had to take a deep breath. Kudos and thanks for giving perspective. I can tell you with confidence you've changed it for one person today
@@rossedwardmiller i had a steam deck... No use for me honestly since i would stream to it 95% of the time. What did it for me was simply reducing time in online games, and increasing the time in singleplayer ones... Brother its veeeery hard at first, but once u get it going and u adapt to single player games, its like u a kid again, everything feels so fresh, nice, fun, even the fking online games become 1000x better... I suffered a lot with that because, i have tons of singleplayer games on steam and epic games, but only beat 2 or 3... The thing is... Now i 100% know they fking mess our whole dopamine receptors in the brain, wether its intentional or not, its fking bullshit, and thats why its hard to go from online to single
@@XxViperMortalxXI agree with this completely the more you play the single player games. The more you get used to them. At the start they feel boring and aren't fun to play but as you get immersed in them. You realize that they're amazing.
Just want to say thank you for making these "little chat" videos. They always make me appreciate gaming and have a nicer outlook on life in general. It's just a nice and chill space to go to for me. So yeah, thank you once again!
Single player games is the reason why I fell in love with gaming to begin with when I was 4. When I focused on them again back in December, I enjoyed gaming once again
There really is nothing else better than playing single player games. It's just you vs the game, and once you beat that game, it feels so good. No one held your hand, no one told you what to do. You kicked this game's ass, and it was 100% you. You can follow UA-cam guides to help you get through games all you want, because some of these games are very difficult games, like the Dark Souls series. But, never feel like you are in any way cheating. No, you are not. You are getting tips to ease your frustrations, that are unhealthy. I doesn't matter if you got tips to help save you 2 hours, but at the end of the day, you still managed to beat that boss regardless of tips. I look up guides all the time in souls games, and many others, because I have other real life stuff to do. Learning a boss for 2 hours is for me crazy. I use to be a huge call of duty gamer way back in the day, but one day I woke up, I loaded up a match, I kept dying, I kept respawning, and then I started asking myself... Why am I playing a game that I will never be the best at? Why and I playing this same map over and over again? Why have I killed thousands of other players? Why have I been killed by players thousands of times? Why am I playing this? Then, I quit Call of Duty, and I quit all other multiplayer games entirely. And, I've never looked back. I went from a multiplayer gamer to a full blown single player addict. I started playing a variety of games, and eventually, I started to appreciate all games. It's odd to look at a game you once hated, to not hate at all. Almost every game I look at, I look at it like it's art. I may not buy the art on the wall, but you can tell that someone put a lot of love into that piece. When it comes to game recommendations, there are so many. If you like Nintendo Switch titles, check out Metroid Dread which is probably my favorite platformer of all time, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is by far my favorite Switch RPG, and of course the Zelda games. You want a wild franchise? Go checkout the Yakuza franchise because it nuts. Yakuza games, if you've never played them may look stupid and ridiculous, but they look stupid and ridiculous, because they were made to be stupid and ridiculous. LOL! I'm not kidding. I remember watching Cohh Carnage play Yakuza for the first time, and I didn't understand what was so special. So, I watched another stream and another stream, after that I was hooked. I understood what this was, and I understood why these games have been masterpieces for decades on Japan. These games are made to make you laugh your ass off one second, and cry the next. Nothing makes sense and its goddamn hilarious. That is the point of Yakuza games. So, if you've never played a Yakuza game, then I highly recommend playing this years new Yakuza: Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, because it is my personal GOTY and it wont change. It's got a knockoff Animal Crossing minigame in it. It's got the capturing Sujimon, which is like capturing Pokemon, except you capture actual people to fight other Sujimon people, and it is so friggen funny yet addicting. That's what gaming is all about, FUN. Sega knows what they are doing when it comes to fun games. Judgment 1 & 2 are also excellent too, but go get Infinite Wealth. If you are having a hard time laughing, go get this this game. Or, watch a bit of it. I promise you, it's going to crack you up. What really put a smile on my face in this video was when he Dragoon showed off Metro Exodus, because Metro Exodus currently sits right around my personal top 5 most favorite games. The Metro games may not be for everyone, but the games sell for a reason. The Metro series are cult classics, and when the term cult classics pop up, in any genre, even movies, it means that a handful like them. But, like with all cult classics, if you like one, you like them all. I'd highly recommend giving Metro Exodus a shot. I'd recommend older Yakuza or Metro games, but to be honest, people who are frustrated right now watching this video for some advice typically do not want to jump into and older title. Most who don't feel well just want the best recommendation right now, and with more modern up-to-date controller schemes, it makes the transition feel more welcoming. So many gamers just recommend starting off with the first game in a franchises, and while it is smart idea to say stay up to date with the previous stories, it just a tough ask for anyone. Would I have enjoyed OG Dark Souls 1 before playing playing Bloodborne? No. I got into Sekiro, then Elden Ring, and now the transition into Dark Souls 1 is not all too bad, now that I know what I'm doing. Games today aren't built like they use to. Today games are always trying to sell you something. Always offering you loot boxes and all sorts of other nonsense, who are just trying to extract as much money out of you without breaking the law. I have never once in my life spent a dime on a microtransaction in any Free 2 Play game I tried, and never will. I am 100% against these god awful live service gambling dens. If my character looks like crap, so be it. I know that depressing feeling very well when nothing feels fun to play. We all have experienced it. But, just know that you are not alone here. If that helps, because I get this way too. It's burnout. Gamers may not even realize they are experiencing burnout, yet it's completely natural. It is in our human DNA to want to do something different. It may feel like depression, and I'm not saying that you are not depressed, but instead of jumping to that conclusion, try to look at it as burnout instead. Most of the time it is 100% burnout. I quit games all the time if I play too much of it, and the more you realize burnout, the more you learn to deal with it better. One day I love a game, and the next, I say I'm burnt out and go playing something else. That's the mindset I've developed, but it's tough to learn how to variety game for many people. Well, BBKDRAGOON nailed it when it came to his picks. Mass Effect = One of the best games story RPGs in space. Ori = One of the best platformers (Metroid Dread, wink ;). RDR2 = One of the most realistic westerns of all time. There are so many times when I hear people say that we are in a gaming drought, and while it may be true, it doesn't need to feel like a bummer. There are hundreds of great games to play right now, that blow these new buggy and broken games out of the water. New games today, for some reason or another, either do not work or they sucks. I don't know what is happening in gaming right now, but it's pretty damn clear that people are not happy, and for many legitimate reason. I get upset over this mess too, but because it just keeps happening so much, I'm not surprised anymore. Sometimes it's better to laugh at these corporations losing their ass in sales, because they are the ones making the bad budgeting decisions. If they want to shut down all studios for their budgeting mistakes, then oh well. Us gamers are not at fault here for the studios failures. That is on the publisher, period. If they want my $70 bucks, well they better bust their ass to get it. What I like to do now is wait a minimum of a week, I look up how how others are feeling about a game, and once I get confirmation that a game is buggy, then I do not buy the product. Then I go hang out on Twitch and watch the game. I'm not getting fooled anymore. It's never going to happen to me again. Nobody (NEEDS) a video game on day 1. Gamers have been conditioned to want to play a game on day 1, and when I see people unhappy, well that's on them who should have done their homework. Games suck today, but it can only get better from here because, again, companies are losing their ass right now, with failed game after failed game. Unfortunately, the odds of playing a good new game today is just very low. So, I'd suggest holding off like I do with any new game, and go play some of the great games Dragoon and myself mentioned. You're looking at a like a years worth of content, depending on your speed. I've got a job too and the Mass Effect Legendary Edition probably took me 3 months to get through the entire trilogy. I am very slows when I play video games, because I savor my games like a perfectly cooked filet mignon. You guys out there are in for one hell of a ride, but it's time to pick a game. Sorry for the long comment. I just get excited talking about great games out there that so many people miss out on. It happens all the time when gamers are invested into 1 game. The game goes in one ear and out the other. I get it, it happens to me too. You've got some games to play right now, so go on and Git! Shoooo. Enjoy these games. Great video BBKDRAGOON! I purchased Half Life 2 probably a year ago and have yet to play it. Now that you mentioned it, that's exactly what I'm going to play next. Black Mesa was very good too. Thanks again dude! Cheers!🍻
Great topic to cover nowadays, BBK. FPS games aren't quite hitting rn. So, I decided to pick up Tekken 8 and try a genre that I've never really given a proper go. Don't know how I'm gonna fare with the game, but I'm genuinely really excited to be bad at a game and just have 0 expectations 😅 I always say, if a game isn't cutting it for you, step away from it or even from gaming and try something new. You will probably come back to things with a greater appreciation.
Don't listen to the other guy, don't get a fight stick unless you are already high rank and really insist on using one (because it won't make you better overall, it's mainly comfort/tournament accessibility). I'm using a keyboard for fighting games and right now I'm diamond 3 in Street Fighter 6 (like top 15%) and it's basically my first fighting game (using classic control scheme, not modern). I almost fell into the trap of buying different controllers, but all I needed was to swap from an xbox controller on PC to keyboard and suddenly things were more intuitive for me (decades of PC gaming yay). My top recommendations are: console pad if you are a console player, keyboard if you are a PC gamer. Then play the game a lot. If one year later you are still playing: only then look at different controllers if you are still obsessed. Else you are just sinking money into something you might regret. This doesn't apply if you already spend lots of money on random stuff you don't need, then do whatever. But it's not needed AT ALL. I know you didn't ask for this, but I'm saying it just in case. Tekken 8 is cool by the way, I wanted to pick it up but I can barely play one fighting game at a time so maybe I'll try it later.
@E1iteWolf Thanks, bro. Actually, really great advice. Plus, for Tekken, I've actually heard people say a lever stick can be harder to use, so yeah, I'm defo gonna stick to controller as a console pleb 😂 And, funnily enough, I believe the most recent Tekken 8 evo champ is a controller player! Also, I'd defo recommend T8 if you can grab it at some point. It's been so much fun. I'm planning to get SF6 at some point, too.
@@fragr33f74 No problem! I think there are more controller players than leverless players in T8. Even in SF6 controller is extremely represented at the top level. In Tekken it's a bit more on the stick side, but that is mostly just the crowd that grew up playing fighting games in arcades or got into them while fighting sticks were considered top tier. I haven't played it yet but I've watched a large amount of T8 content through PhiDX who IMO makes the best teaching/analysis content. If you haven't seen any of his videos yet then I highly recommend to check it out.
I have found a new passion for JRPGs, they're so peaceful and playing them for 1-2 hours has been so helpful decompressing after a long day of work, staying fit, managing my relationships and content creation. At first they feel impossible to play because the addiction to ranking up in something competitive is so different but in time it became a safe place to enjoy myself. I recommend everyone give it a try.
For those that struggle with playing single player games because of lack of time or energy, I also recommend giving reading a shot. There are so many cool stories, characters, and awesome worlds. Even trying some literary fiction, or absurdist fiction is a really good way of learning something new. My argument for reading is that most games have a formula now. There are cool stories, and indie games truly innovate and bring new ideas. The amount of good books written up until now is so large that no human being can read them all, but this means that there is something for everyone.
I bought a steam deck and it completely changed my perspective on games. I'm finally playing small indies I picked up cheap instead of the usual AAA stuff. I don't feel dumb playing Jelly Car Worlds on my deck than on my monster PC. It's nice to play games to chill instead of looking for that rush after a long day
@KA-vs7nl ran 20fps with new season launch, ranked is laughably implemented and you can't shoot the stupid spiderbot anymore making it one of the most frustrating things in a multiplayer game
I'd like to say, just try it... seriously, instead of contemplating over the hundreds of games in your wishlist just pick one and start playing I have been playing elden ring recently upon someone's suggestion, I never thought I'd ever enjoy a game like this but I am having an absolute blast :)
I have a question about Elden Ring since i don't own it (yet). How do you 'build' a character? Can you spec a character a certain way stat/weapon wise and then switch or does it penalize you for swapping things? Are you able to build something yourself without feeling super gimped due to not following a specific build that a new player can't even know about, if you know what I mean?
@@E1iteWolf Basically you can choose from various different builds or characters whatever you wanna call it Each with a certain amount of stats distributed in various fields and some decent starting gear, each facilitating a different playstyle. This just gives you a basic starting point, you are not limited by anything, you can spec points into any field you wish, make your character however you like, whether you want a hulking tank, a swift slashing type, a pure mage, or like me become gandalf with a staff in one hand and a sword in another... Your starting class will have a major impact on how your early to mid game will go, but it wont restrict you to a playstyle since after the intial stat distribution from the class you selected, you are free to pick and choose how you wanna level up... How it does matter is, every time you level up any stat, it exponentially increases the global cost of next upgrade, so there is only so much you could level up. So starting class does have some impact, but not too much either. Later in the game after a certain point, you unlock the ability to "respec" your points if you made any wrong decisions or just wanna change ur build, but the initial class will remain the same... There are plenty yt videos out there which you can refer for knowing about each class. If you are curious i chose "Prisoner" which is a mage+sword class, which I like to call Gandalf... I just realised it ended up being a huge essay, anyway have fun!
The problem is online multiplayer in general. Single player was and will always be king. They have more ways than one to fill time, no matter how long or short, easy or challenging. If someone's first thought to "recharge " after a stressful day is to hop onto toxic, stressful online multiplayer. Then that's a them problem at this point. It's not about taking a break from multiplayer. It's They need to stop playing multiplayer all together. Modern multiplayer don't have the community, the social aspects that made the game fun to begin with. Go where the fun is, either queue up with your buddies or just stop playing the competitive online multiplayer in general. They don't offer anything substantial over a single player game these days. This is just my take, but I'm an outlier who has never seen or understood the value of competitive multiplayer even in the "good old days." Good video, it's just tiring seeing so many videos saying the same thing with the same obvious solution. Then go back to the problem (multiplayer games) and the cycle repeats. Gaming has never been better for me than right now. I'm playing games I want to play. I'm playing the fairy tail rpg since im a fan of the manga, replaying metroid prime 2 because it's an incredible game that I love, I'm looking to get into starcraft for it's universe and characters as I like those aspects of scifi. All of this while I wait for new releases I want to play: Sonic x shadow generations, lollipop chainsaw remake, metroid prime 4, doom the dark ages. Look for the games you want to play. If those are soley online competitive fps, then with all due respect to those people, I feel so sorry for you, please try and enjoy something else that genuinely wants you to have fun.
This works for those who are mentally heathy (relatively) in the first place. Those who play games to have fun. But if you play games to escape issues in your life, this may not work, because you are addicted to those specific games for a reason. They must have validated you in some ways that real-life can't. So some video game problems need to be solved in real-life.
Totally been there and am there. Used to have a friend group which unfortunately broke a part. It got to the point where we were playing games I just didn't want to play. When we parted ways I had to learn to play what I enjoyed. I found myself playing many different kinds of games that I never would have played. Breaking the mold definitely helped to make gaming fun. Even if it meant taking a break from gaming it helps to bring the love back. Now I have a few different games on a few different platforms and it really helps.
i'm not as indulged in video games as i used to be , but i gotta say that i'm so lucky for clicking on one of your videos , you make very good chill content , keep up ♥
This exact situation literally JUST happened to me, ive been breaking up my Apex legends with mostly singleplayer for the last while and ive been much happier
A session game that came to my mind as ypu talked about skate 2 is rooftos & alleys, it is an indie parkour game currently in early access. It fills this exact role, whenever i want to disconnect and want to just chill i just run around some of the maps doing tricks and it fells so relaxing and fun
The scenario that you described at the start summed up what I was going through perfectly a couple years ago. I would rage queue in Halo, League of Legends, and CoD. What got me out of rage queuing was asking myself: "Why do I play video games?" Which the answer always is to de-stress and have fun. When I start raging, I just switch over to a comfort game (single player RPGs for me). My comfort games of choice atm are BG3, The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077.
The best thing I can recommend anyone who wants to love gaming again is to try new things. Playing Hell Let Loose last year is what made me love MP again. Helldivers 2 kept me going!
Having few main games on long running sessions and other side games on rotation is what kept me excited. My main games: - Grim Dawn & Last Epoch - Ixion, Factorio, Terraria, or similar games - AoE 2 & 4, StarCraft 2 My side games: - Progressing on campaigns or achievements of any other FPS, RPG, Rouge, Turn-based, RTS franchise or offline game.
Man I went through the saaaame thing in the pandemic! I was so addicted to fortnite untill it rotted the gamer inside of me, then I quit gaming at all because of medschool. Now that i'm graduating soon i've built a new pc and have been having a blast playing campaign games. At some point during hardship in my last exam season i literally played a resident evil 4 remake chapter every day and it made everything better. I'm now looking into starting cyberpunk and ghost of tsushima, and very hyped to play pokemon scarlet too! Sometimes all you need is a dumb nintendo title while your last 2 neurons fire a synapse haha. Online gaming is definetely not compatible with my life as a physician xD
Just finished Black Mesa (Half Life 1) for the first time, and it blew my mind. Now hearing you talk about HL1 and HL2 makes me even more excited for HL2
Thanks man, you made me realise that the only reason I was still playing valorant was that I was so used to playing it that even if I wasn't enjoying playing it 90% of my time I still played it. Spent almost 500$ on that game but I just left it and I already feel better. ❤
I got into cycling when I got burned out for playing for more than a decade. I got into this cycling hobby for almost 2 years not knowing how expensive it was from the start, expensive than my whole pc setup + library of games combined. but thankfully it aids me a lot into enjoying games again.
Thanks so much for making this video, BKKDragoon! It's so encouraging to know that I'm not the only one who gets like this! Hope you have a really great day.
Your video hit me a bit. I took a break from FPS games and started playing older games. I fired up Watch Dogs and man that game has aged well with FPS boost on XSX. i really like what you said about doing "Self check-ins". I need to do more of those.
Just wanted to share that my expierence has been extreemly simelar. Made a resolution at the start of this year to play less counterstrike and aoe4 (yes it has a multiplayer scene don't laugh it actually real good) and play more single player titels on my backlog. Man i have enjoyed gaming much more this last couple of months than i care to remember. I expierenced inside, the witcher 2 , battle brothers, dirt rally and i am currently playing through the systemschock remake (2023). Taking my time. Stopping when i want. Mass effect legendary is also on the list. Having never even played it before. Much love to you and all my fellow gamers on a parallel path. I know you're out here ❤❤❤
I went from sedentary to really active and ever since I picked up mountain biking and working out I've completely fallen out of love with games :/ it's been three months now, whenever I have free time I just pick up my bike and go around... and ever since I downloaded Strava I've become addicted to it. Sometimes I just turn on my consoles and they end up turning off after 20 minutes because I don't even touch them haha. I think what I miss the most is the feeling or the idea of gaming, which in all honesty I hadn't felt in a few years already. After I started exercising I realized I was just forcing myself to like games, probably because I had no other hobbies on the side.
Awesome video. Since Halo is failing and my friends have stopped playing it I’ve started playing more single player games (thank you steam summer sale) and co-op with my wife (overcooked2 and cat quest2) I’m much happier and less ragey!
Always play what you want. Games are supposed to be fun. And if you're not having a good time then the game isnt for you. No sense in getting worked up over a game. Shut it off and come back to it later or not at all. Shouldnt stress yourself out when you're just trying to relax and have some downtime.
Anyone looking for a chill skate type game, "Rooftops & Alleys" is a sick parkour game I would have loved as a kid. I play like 30 mins to an hour every other day and just run around tricking while listening to music. Highly recommend.
Damn I guess I should step away from fighting games cause I’ve felt that anger queuing up for another match after losing 5 straight but I’ve gone back to rpgs and started the far cry series and slowly getting back to the grind 😌👏🏾🔥 good video
Great video def resonates with me esp the last few years. I think variety is good advice and also not getting in your way to try a game for just a night etc.
Stardew Valley is my ultimate sit-back and relax style game after a long day of work. As far as newer games, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk has been an insanely fun time that reminded me why I love gaming so much.
I've maybe stopped playing Multiplayer games about 3-4 years back and have been going through lots of single player games and have loved it since, yes every now and then ill try out a new multiplayer game or when my friends are all on but other than that my full focus with gaming was nothing but single player games. I even made a whole list of my completed games and ive so far completed about 180 single player games since then. Games like Alan wake, the batman games, dead space games, i beat devil may cry in a day, ducktales, GTA san andreas, ghost of thsushima, kingdom hearts, zelda games, mirrors edge, resident evil games, samurai jack, the orignal sonic the hedgehog and a ton more i can keep listing. Each game has held its own weight, could be its gameplay, story, visuals or characters in general but each told and tells great stories that you can dive into. I seen some amazing stories play out, some even get you emotional and some leave you wanting to know more. I'm thankful for the gaming and Gaming is for all, ive found my bubble in it and i love it.
Playing games online is a way for me to socialise when I feel lonely but they also frustrate me quite a bit so it's tough to find a good balance (at least for me) 😵💫
I've learned to just laugh things off to just find the fun in everything, my team sucks? oh well lol, my games lagging welp it is what it is! not perfect, hell its hard to do sometimes but most of the time I can be chill
Great video! Been really getting annoyed and enraged by Warzone recently. Bought Bomb Rush Cyberpunk and going to take a break from playing fps multiplayer for a while.
im looking for that next really good single player story game but havent come across it yet. trying to finish off elden ring, but your spot on as always!
Yep, thats how i play. A few rounds of The Finals, then on to single player cozy games. Just beat RE2, my first horror game, no onto that spongebob platformer.
After I quit Destiny 2 last year, I've played so many games and had such a great time gaming again. I came back for The Final Shape and after I beat the campaign I logged off again (probably for good, unless my friends want me to play with them). I just don't have it in me to play super grindy games like D2 and Warframe (even though I will play them casually) anymore. I've spent an ungodly amount of money on single player games this steam summer sale and am having a blast. The past 2 days I've spent playing Last Epoch and deciding on a build for my playthrough of Pathfinder: WOTR
BBK, based on things you’ve said over the years in your videos, I think you and I are around the same age. I have to tell you, your videos resonate with me more than anything else on UA-cam. I have been experiencing this exact phenomenon myself. I want to relax after a long day of work and find myself feeling even worse after playing the modern multiplayer shooters of today. I will take your advice try to break away from that. I’ve recently started playing Portal 2 again and it’s been so much fun. I’ve also went back to Skyrim after years and have really been enjoying it.
If you're looking for some single player fun I just got into the resident evil franchise and am so impressed with both mercenaries and raid mode on the games. I highly recommend resident evil Revelation 2 raid mode this game is an awesome rewarding solo or co-op games. Mercenaries on resident evil village and resident evil 6 is also super awesome. I am sure most people have already tried it but Cold war zombies is really really good.
Definitely recommend to expand horizons for anyone who feels burnt out. I have like multiplayer and then single player kicks. I’ll play a lot of shooters and then when I get bored I’ll pick up a game I haven’t played before (thanks steam sales!!!). Keep your gaming tastes like food. You eat the same thing every day you will get tired of it, so don’t play the same thing everyday! Don’t fall for fomo events or skins since gaming companies will always release cooler skins down the line
The only way I play multiplayer these days is just me and my 2 kids playing split screen co-op games or fighting games like Smash ultimate on the switch. It’s just good casual low effort, low stakes fun. When TMNT Shredders Revenge came out for the switch my kids and I picked the game up from a big box store, grabbed a pizza on the way home and played that game till we couldn’t hardly keep our eyes open anymore. We laughed together, ate pizza together and just enjoyed being in each other’s presence. It’s moments like these that truly live on forever in my mind not some sweaty live service online multiplayer game.
The one thing that makes me happy is just playing games that I’m familiar with, and playing newer games don’t have the same impact, I played sonic frontiers for months, and at the end of the game the level design was too overwhelming, and what made things worse is that a bug stopped me from progressing, imagine spending months on a game then to have a bug that completely ruins the whole game!
what helped me is switching from competitive fps ( Tried going rly high in valorant got immortal 2) and switched to story games and fighting games and omg im having fun again. Teammates are one of the biggest reasons people rage
Everyone here voices the same thing I was going to say. I stick to single player games nowadays, put on my headset, and just relax. Between work, school, family, and balancing all that, I like to be able to just enjoy a game at my own pace
I go through this phase of wanting to play a multiplayer fps game about every other month. I download one boot it up and realize why I uninstalled them all within the first 15 minutes.
Just last night, I got messaged to off myself from a random teammate in Rocket League that didn't go for the kickoff when it was his turn to do so. Easy to shake off, but I quickly went back to ReCore that I'm currently working on. Not top 10 like a Mass Effect, but definitely worth it. Besides the few multiplayer games here and there, time is almost better spent in a solid single-player game from a decade+ ago. Right now, I think I'll boot up the Ghostrunners after I'm done with ReCore.
Telling someone to do that in Rocket League? I swear some people are so toxic and miserable. This is why I either play single player games or MP games with friends only.
usually i love to play online with other players... but now i have more fun playing games that a played as a kid like mario, smash bros, pokemon, doom, street fighter, need for speed
I only play multiplayer games if friends are online and are down to play. If not, I’m booting up a good single player game to wind down. Replaying some old story games, new story games or games that I havent had the chance to play yet. Just finished The Last of Us Part 1 for the second time (first time was when it released on ps3), and now a little break with Jedi Fallen Order, to afterwards continue with TLOS Part 2 for the first time ever. Some story games have have such incredible stories, movies could even learn from them. GoW Ragnarok, my favorite game of the last couple of years
I've been enjoying the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games as of late and they're honestly so much fun. I learned to enjoy gaming again by playing single player games more
@L3RK gamma is fun. I finished SoC and CS for the first time recently and I'm taking my time enjoying Call of Pripyat. Once I'm done with og trilogy I'm planning on playing the Metro trilogy. Personally I prefer the original trilogy over anomaly/gamma though
I can relate! I was thinking maybe now that I’m 40 Ive grown out of games. But man I’ve discovered boomer shooters and my love for games has come back. That and just booting up my old PS3. Quick question what’s that biking game at the end of the video?
For me multiplayer peaked during the PS3/360 era, but started it's downfall when you started playing against everyone vs a community that frequented a specific server. These days I stick to coop or pvevp games like Exoprimal, as games like The Finals & Multiversus just end up boiling down to rinse & repeat tactics to overcome another player trying to exploit an over powered tactic that you know will one day be nerfed, but not before they put out more paid content instead of balancing the game. So now I stick with coop generally & have been happier for it, I still love playing against friends competitively though. That said I recently bought some arcade cabinets & that combined with simpler games like Pepper Grinder that focus on fun core gameplay loops without a screen full of information for loot have really helped me enjoy gaming again. Sucks that most games want to bombard you with information to keep you on a treadmill though, not that I dislike it when I'm in the mood for it but I'm also getting burnt out on it.
Hey BKKDRAGOON, Props to you with your recent videos, they make me think and questions things i've never put to perspective. Thanks for making those, they are really inspiring me to get in touch with so many titles of my library lol Love your videos
There's nothing quite like a metroid prime game. The atmosphere, the rain dripping on your visor, the ambience and music, walking around getting lost just absorbing everything.
Also try to avoid braindead games For me the older assassin's creed games are a comfort session but sometimes they just don't give you that resting feeling, it's like you've daydreamed the last hour because of how simple they are. Try some games that get you thinking once in a while :)
For me it was the opposite, I only played single player games, and for years I could switch genres and play indie, but lately (specially after Covid) I really been having problems with fun. I been playing some online games to get social interactions, extraction shooter, survival crafters, milsims, co-op shooters... but i don't think i'm ready for the toxicity of competitive pvp yet.
The best tip i can give you guys is actually quitting competitive games. They are most of the time the issue which makes you rage because you lost your ranked, downranked lost your elo or whatever. When I switched to non competitiv games I realised that it actually doesn't matter if you loose or have a bad game. What should happen? There is nothing you can loose. You finally have 0 pressure and you can enjoy the games you like. It is that simple
Try heavy role playing games. Dont worry about meta, best gear and best skills. Just play and roleplay as as much as you can. Also try monster hunter :) no pvp and you can play either coop or solo.
Quitting rocket league after 6k hours has been the best choice ive made in gaming. Alot of people that are "gamers" are really only "maining" 1 game where they dump insane hours into. Playing variety games should be more normalized so we are less "one game andy"
Its just that modern games are shit, i thought i was not able to have a lot of fun in gaming anymore and put hour on end into it, until i played baldurs gate 3 last year, that reminded me that if you have a good game, that respects you as a player instead of draining you for every cent possible
I been playing the first descendant and having fun. Then I switched to overwatch and couldn't even finish a match because I was just not interested, so I tried apex and it was the same thing
What i like to do when multiplayer sucks is i go and start a fresh Campaign in infinite or Titanfall 2 on easy and just chill. Especially on Infinite. And i just wander and climb the highest rocks or try to kill stuff in creative ways. It usually makes me lose a few hours like its minutes. If i want more engagement i play the titanfall 2 campaing and just blitz it as fast as possible just.
I’ve never been a multiplayer gamer, with few exceptions like Helldivers 2. Right now I’m playing the crap out of Cyberpunk with the DLC, with 80 hours in and still having a blast. Another great game is Returnal, and it’s on PC, so no excuse if you don’t own a PS5. I play A LOT of games and happy to make recommendations if you feel stuck. Just let me know what genres or mood you’re looking for.
I switched from COD Warzone to Elden Ring to chill.
Now I'm waiting for my new controller to arrive.
Final boss put me through the ringer mentally lol I had a controller that was ready to be thrown out so let’s just say after dying for 3 hours straight. I helped facilitate the controller to the afterlife 😂
Trial and error friend, trial and error
Of course it’s Elden ring the cliche trendy single player game smh
@@shooknWho cares what people play as long as they enjoy it? After all, it is their life and not yours.
@@shookn It's genuinely a great game, and it's only trendy right now because a DLC literally just dropped.
I don't play multiplayer games anymore, ive noticed it made me more annoyed than happy. Most of the time I was just raging whereas with singleplayer games I just chill and get immersed in the world and story
Literally I get too competitive and it starts to suck the energy when competition increasea and you lose lol
Try PVE. Teaming up with other players against the AI.
This is me right now. One of the best decisions I have made.
I find more people appear interested in Co-Op than PvP lately
For me, its really just the amount of people walling or r6 specifically, recoil macros on PC.
thats me right there.
Coop brings the best out of humanity. I always preferred coop from the start, because we are sharing a common goal, against something that isn’t human.
Sorta but sometimes Co-op gets similar issues as PvP sadly
My guy delivered the "dont do multiplayer FPS, but do nice single player games instead" so smoothly, i had to take a deep breath.
Kudos and thanks for giving perspective. I can tell you with confidence you've changed it for one person today
Yo thank you very much, happy to hear that and thanks for the kind comment!
Playing single player games on my Steam Deck and Switch saved my love for gaming.
Yes. I haven’t played anything on ps, Xbox, or pc for a year. All single player and indie titles on handhelds. Only thing keeping me playing anything
Don't know how I'm gonna fare with the game, but I'm genuinely really excited to be bad at a game and just have 0 expectations 😅
I always say, if a game isn't cutting it for you, step away from it or even from gaming and try something new.
You will probably come back to things with a greater appreciation.
Get a fight stick, idk why buy fighting games feel way better on those
Don't listen to the other guy, don't get a fight stick unless you are already high rank and really insist on using one (because it won't make you better overall, it's mainly comfort/tournament accessibility).
Plus, for Tekken, I've actually heard people say a lever stick can be harder to use, so yeah, I'm defo gonna stick to controller as a console pleb 😂
And, funnily enough, I believe the most recent Tekken 8 evo champ is a controller player!
Easy - stop playing multiplayer games, they are cancer. Play single player story based games, its like watching a movie.
Multiplayer games have dropped so bad in quality. The only mp games that keep a consistant formula is fighting games now.
Yes sir. That's 100% accurate!
1000000% true
Yes, I stopped playing mp games completely, SBMM makes it not fun or interesting for those of us that are above avarage.
This is the best take
This is literally the problem of the competitive online games industry
That's not correct.
This is OUR problem.
They are fine with this.
They want this even to happen.
That keeps you playing.. ;)
Your channel is so cozy, man, I love it.
It's nice to play games to chill instead of looking for that rush after a long day
That scenario you described at the start is me with x-defiant 😂 once I start raging I switch to a single player game
Xdefiant is not it bro they've been making the game worse with every update

I have been playing elden ring recently upon someone's suggestion, I never thought I'd ever enjoy a game like this but I am having an absolute blast :)
You must love pain lol
@@SONICBOOM98 no fr, am having fun in elden ring, taking things at my own pace, just chilling :)
@@E1iteWolf Basically you can choose from various different builds or characters whatever you wanna call it
Each with a certain amount of stats distributed in various fields and some decent starting gear, each facilitating a different playstyle.
I just realised it ended up being a huge essay, anyway have fun!
you end up beating it?
This is just my take, but I'm an outlier who has never seen or understood the value of competitive multiplayer even in the "good old days."
Good video, it's just tiring seeing so many videos saying the same thing with the same obvious solution.
Get outside, workout, do something else. We all die eventually, don’t blame a bad quality of life on a video game addiction.
@@ImWickedReywhat you just said is literally what he just said… look at the last sentence of his comment.
Reading comprehension is important.
Always good to hear exercise mentioned in gaming videos. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself.
Apex has been the hardest game to distance from , 😊after I stopped I had an identity crisis bc that’s all I played and was into for months
A session game that came to my mind as ypu talked about skate 2 is rooftos & alleys, it is an indie parkour game currently in early access. It fills this exact role, whenever i want to disconnect and want to just chill i just run around some of the maps doing tricks and it fells so relaxing and fun
Keep these types of videos coming :) So refreshing to see the positive vibes
My main games:
- Grim Dawn & Last Epoch
- Ixion, Factorio, Terraria, or similar games
- AoE 2 & 4, StarCraft 2
My side games:
- Progressing on campaigns or achievements of any other FPS, RPG, Rouge, Turn-based, RTS franchise or offline game.

Your video hit me a bit. I took a break from FPS games and started playing older games. I fired up Watch Dogs and man that game has aged well with FPS boost on XSX. i really like what you said about doing "Self check-ins". I need to do more of those.
I haven’t seen Trails gameplay in so long, I miss that game so much. I used to play it all the time when I was younger!
Elden Ring (+DLC) broke my multiplayer addiction but now I'm left chasing that feeling it gave me
Just wanted to share that my expierence has been extreemly simelar.
I know you're out here ❤❤❤
Bro this is more like an inspirational podcast :D
I know right? Kinda wish he was on Spotify honestly.
Great video man. I've been feeling like this and needed to hear this.
Playing games online is a way for me to socialise when I feel lonely but they also frustrate me quite a bit so it's tough to find a good balance (at least for me) 😵💫
L4D2 is a game that supplies me with endless joy! With friends is crazy hilarious
Liked within the first minute because it is was just very real and relatable 👍
First vid I’ve discovered of yours and it hit SO hard. Great stuff man 💯
Yep, thats how i play. A few rounds of The Finals, then on to single player cozy games. Just beat RE2, my first horror game, no onto that spongebob platformer.
I decided to do the same thing after spending over 800 hours on mw2/mw3 and now im enjoyng gaming once again.
Yeah whenever I need to relax and play a game I boot up a halo campaign to feel like a beast
Came for the gaming stuff, stayed for the wholesome life advice
Totally share your experience, and btw love the chill vibes of your videos 🔥👊🏻
Portal 2 is absolutely an amazing game. It’s so fun. The writing is great. I audibly laughed out loud at some of the jokes. The puzzles are fun.
what helped me is switching from competitive fps ( Tried going rly high in valorant got immortal 2) and switched to story games and fighting games and omg im having fun again. Teammates are one of the biggest reasons people rage
Single player is the way to go at the end of the day, enjoyment is over the thrill of winning
Hell yeah dude
GoW Ragnarok, my favorite game of the last couple of years
Going fishing and hunting in RDR2 online was a vibe
I've been enjoying the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games as of late and they're honestly so much fun. I learned to enjoy gaming again by playing single player games more
If I'm ever in a funk I just start a new GAMMA playthrough and it fixes me right up.
I still cant believe the ambiance and world of the original stalkers hold up so well to this day. The Zone is so well crafted.
Love watching your vids man keep it up
I can relate!
Hey BKKDRAGOON,
Props to you with your recent videos, they make me think and questions things i've never put to perspective.
Thanks for making those, they are really inspiring me to get in touch with so many titles of my library lol
Love your videos
Your voice sounds like Ryan Reynolds lol. Anyway great video btw completely agree with you. 👍🏻
This is a great video. Thank you.
Here's a game reccomendation: Metroid Prime.
You wanna develop a new love for video games? Start there.
There's nothing quite like a metroid prime game. The atmosphere, the rain dripping on your visor, the ambience and music, walking around getting lost just absorbing everything.
Every game minus Other M is straight amazing. Even AM2R is spectacular.
Also try to avoid braindead games
For me the older assassin's creed games are a comfort session but sometimes they just don't give you that resting feeling, it's like you've daydreamed the last hour because of how simple they are.
Playing variety games should be more normalized so we are less "one game andy"
i do the same thing now, i play Diablo 3, sometimes i dont want to stress about my ranked point in street fighter 6
I picked up portal 2 for like $1 on the spring sale, fantastic game
Portal 2 is one of the greatest games of all-time, imho.
Great video. Thank you
Its just that modern games are shit, i thought i was not able to have a lot of fun in gaming anymore and put hour on end into it, until i played baldurs gate 3 last year, that reminded me that if you have a good game, that respects you as a player instead of draining you for every cent possible
It's always crazy watching people who only play online games find out about single player game.
I been playing the first descendant and having fun. Then I switched to overwatch and couldn't even finish a match because I was just not interested, so I tried apex and it was the same thing
can you please make a video about DRM in any pc Games ? I like GOG beacause of their mission
