Hi! I removed the exhaust on a BMW E39 (530I) in one piece. I´m showing you the How - To video. No help, no special tools needed! Thanks for watching...bye
Overheated my 525i cause the rad broke... So I tore that engine out and rebuilt the whole thing with a new block... Upgraded the M54 with M52TU piston rings, Upgraded oil pump, valve job, all new silicone vacuum lines, brand new gas filter, and gas pump, new timing chains and guides, upgraded the vanos with the anti rattle kit, aluminum rad from zionsville, upgraded disa, German Auto solutions CCV delete, and a bunch of other stuff i am forgetting. I mated the engine and transmission like a moron and sheered off the oil pump tabs or ears so no oil pressure in the transmission. I cannot shift it into gear so of course so I will pull the transmission. I had the damn exhaust off about a month ago and haven't fired it up more than 5 minutes total after the engine rebuild but one of the bolts i substituted is stuck like an asshole. Since I twisted the studs right off the downpipe I thought the new bolts would be easy to get off, I was dead WRONG lol.
Great video, mine has just gone and blown the two gaskets just after the O2 sensor but the bolts or studs have gone, would you know if they are studs as I can,t tell if so looks like they will have to be drilled out.
Nice I wish my exhaust manifold still had nuts and bolts like yours
LOL
@@TheultimateDIYmachine completely eroded to nothing, I have to torch them out. I bought the car from New York soo yea

Thanks and yes probably if they’re way much corroded the studs might wanna be drilled out. It sucks...
Great video thank you my e39 needs a new torque converter possibly new transmission and this vid is going to help me do that myself
good job
Any idea how much the weight of the system was ?
I’d say 50 Kg or so. Anyway the problem is not the weight, but the length…
@@TheultimateDIYmachine cheers 👍
Question, I’m straight piped but my exhaust manifold is the original one. Do they have cats on them?
yes
yes, the cats are built into the intake manifold on these cars
Obviously somebody else had replenished the nuts and bolts beforehand
Do yo really think so? I’m not the first owner, but I’m afraid the first one never touched those nuts and bolts 🤔
I know so
i would like to hear how it sounds now :D
