They spent the entire episode planning for him and got defeated before a drip of water hit the ground
Yeah, they OPed Jack a bit but I guess the episode wanted to show that the bounty hunters aren't just disposable robots. Some of them have a personality and a story and their own reasons to gain that bounty. And it makes Aku an even more menacing villain because we can see that it's not just him and Jack that have the vendetta. His evil has reached far outside the planet and affected others.
It's more if a world building episode.
Ya, Jack is that badass
It shows that Jack didn't survive all this time by hiding or relying on luck. Jack is a beast.
Tommy Petraglia agreed
Its even more interesting considering that just a minute ago the princess bounty hunter was able to cut a rain drop before it hit the ground and even that didn't make a difference.
What’s both sad and Ironic, is that if Princess Mera has just swallowed her pride and asked for Jacks help to free her people...he would’ve done it.
Later as the Princess analyzed the slaughter she realised her and team didn't make a single mistake during the fight with the samurai. The only mistake was fighting the samurai.
You know what the saddest part is for them? I honestly doubt Jack even really remembers this encounter that much.
Noah Masi considering he is the most wanted in the world and thousands upon thousands of different bounty hunters are wanting him dead, he can’t keep track of everyone who attacks him.
I think it would be characteristic of Jack to meet one of them years later and casually refer to their fight before they even recognize him
Didn't last long enough to be memorable. The Minions of Set, Demongo and the Guardian are fights he will remember.
I love how Jack just stands there waiting to see if she attacks after disposing of every other bounty hunter, then just walks away. What a cartoon
I love this scene so much, not only for the expert movements of how jack disposed of his targets, but the build up, the entire episode was built around these bounty hunters. We got to hear their backstory, their drive, their goals. How they did their line of work. And the reputaion caught by it. We watched as they prepared to face their greatest challenge yet. Even collectively they knew they had but one shot at this. And the wait, the build up, for that one moment. All over within seconds. She knew all of this, and she had no choice.
What also made this moment great is the bounty hunters didn't mess up their plan. They did exactly what they were supposed to do and Jack still beat them easily.
Usually Jack's straw-hat gets destroyed in these battles, its kind of the sign that Jack must get serious. In this "fight" however it didn't even come to that.

Whoever made the decision to start uploading Samurai Jack clips in 1080p deserves a medal!
Time to repeat the age old saying...
*For the princess, it was the most important day of her life.*
*For Jack...*
*It was Tuesday.*
After watching this scene it was no wonder why Afro lost to Jack
Paco yes. Much respect to Afro but Samurai Jack is Samurai Jack
Samurai "I never killed a human before" Jack.
TBF, the daughters of Aku are half demon.
@@ShamblesMD But Boris is dead
@@TyRiders2 NOOOO

Thank you I thought that’s as just me when I remember jack saying that to himself
My favorite jack episodes are those in which jack himself doesn't have a single line of dialog. Anyone else?
Vlad the Impaler yes it makes him mysterious but I also like when Jack says his words of wisdom though
When Jack pulled his sword back it was already done
“You’ve destroyed plenty of machines but never a human. Real flesh and blood.”
Lmfao. Yeah, sure he hasn’t.
They knew Jack would be smart, but not this smart. Their plan seemed fascinating at first, but it's also amazing that it backfired miserably.
1:01 Black Cat - 1:03 White Cat.
1:49 I know Jack was just thinking “try me bitch I dare you”😂
not one background repeats on any episode. that makes this animation even more amazing!
Jack: "that was called mercy"
Literal chills when I saw this episode in the first time, still applies now...such a masterpiece of the seires.
You know Jack acquired such skill from some close calls and even losses that made him stronger throughout his time in the future.
Samurai Jack has gone such a long way in his journey to advance so much
Jack just ended all of their careers.
I think this was the one that had the least amount of screen time of the samurai.
But still one of the most badass moments
Ironically one of the best SJ episodes is one where he only truly appears for a minute.
I believe it is the episode with the mafia robot where jack is shown the least. You know the "take care of lulu" guy.
Also Aku's fairy tales
ye tit remained one of the bests
Jack can't defe....oh wait. What happened? I blinked!
I don't care what Genndy says, these guys fucking died.
It's even more cruel that they somehow survived this because they ain't coming out of this without permanently crippling injuries which might as well be a death sentence in SJ's cruel world.
Jack holds the true beating heart of humanity as a whole. Complete and utter defiance in the face of adversity.
Just amazing. So much told with nothing being said
I wish we got to see more of Princess Mira after this episode. She had a cool character and awesome backstory following to this episode in my opinion. Though granted season 5 takes place 50 years after season 4 so chances are she’s probably really old or dead by now.
I was waiting for them to make amends but they never did :(
That episode, that SCENE, was purely EPIC!
This scene was epic but It always made me wonder. these are some of the best bounty hunters at the time, and jack seems to have struggled with beings of less skill for longer. Maybe this just takes place later on in the adventure and Jack has even greater in skill?
After getting his ass handed to by guys like the Minions of Set, The Guardian, Imakamdi, and Ultra Robots. You bet these guys would be easy to deal with.
scienceuser99 the Imakandi weren’t really a fight against Jack but a hunt.
He knew there intentions weren’t to harm him but capture him that’s why he ran instead of fought them. They showed no true motive to kill him so by his moral code he didn’t want to harm them.
However if he did fight them, it would be one hell of a fight and yes. Samurai Jack did gain a whole lot of experience from so many encounters with bounty hunters and such attempting to kill pr capture him
So after all these years it turns out he really did use a non lethal technic on these bounty hunters (according to season 5). Honestly as a kid I just thought this was cleverly censored.
EDIT: He might have killed the cat creature, cuz according to Genndy he never killed a human.
Jack's sword does not harm those considered to be innocent. The Bounty Hunters were just doing their job and were not necessarily pure evil, hence no stabs or blood.
@@Piper9080 I doubt it. These bounty hunters were in it for the money; they'd kill anyone as long as their greed is sated.
Those people are genuine evil. The princess, however, has reasons to justify this hunt.
I think Genndy originally intended these people to be killed, but changed it so it is canon that they were knocked out non-lethally. For better character progression and all. It's not a rare thing to see in media.
Yeah but the big dude explodes
Probably Jack, wounded them but not deadly.
@@KS-zs9rb Yeah, Boris died. That wasn't a non lethal technique at all.
It seems like the creators went ALL OUT for s4!!!! So many moments I remember from this season!!!
For those hunters, it was the most important bounty of their lives.
For Jack... it was a moment in a day than ends in "Y".
He turned theirs into a day that ended in "Why?".
I think it was also a Tuesday...
One of the most badass moment's in samurai jack
I never forgot this scene since I first watched it in 2003. And it's still amazing!
A full minute, with nothing but the birds in the trees, the crunch of snow compacting underfoot, and the drip... drip... drip of melting ice.
One of the greatest animated action scenes ever. Second only to the ninja fight.
I felt bad for the girl because her and the Assassin’s got exposed and they had a full plan and everything 😂😂😂
It all happens in seconds.
According to Death Battle, that was 1/3 of a second for that drop of water to hit the ground.
This was such a hype episode i remember it like it was yesterday. So good.
I wish Gentleman survived the encounter. I like him. He have style.
peter siri he did survive. Jack’s sword cannot kill anything sentient that isn’t pure evil. He was just knocked out like the others
I remember when I was a kid I was always watching this cartoon
Wich chapter is?
One of my fav episodes... of course 90% of them were my favourite but still! Awesome stuff
Samurai Jack is a top level favorite of mine for years. In fact I named a pet cat of mine Ninja Joe in honor of him.
I would go back in time for more Samurai Jack
Well, That was one of the most EPIC 2 minutes and 39 seconds of my life!
This show, THIS SHOW
epic straight action this left me speechless and he was just one man.
Hold on now just a minute! Jack is clearly killing humans here!
I like how great this build up, that no one even notice that it last MUCH longer than single drip of water hit the ground
I watch it when I was a kid and now I'm watching it again 2020
Me too
Even an official account thinks 30 seconds happens within 9.
I love Samurai Jack :D
(E.D.I.T.) Who doesn't?
Pretty sure this was the first time Jack killed someone who was "flesh and blood", rather than in the final season.
Did anyone notice that all the action happened in the time it took the drop of water to reach the ground
so he just went back the direction he was coming first
One of the best scenes from the show
Its quite considerate he let her think about it.
As king of lightning would say, SPEEEEEEEEEED!
Makes me want to go back and rewatch the show again......
Jack has such a merciful heart towards women
Notice how he finished them off before that drop off water land on the ground
😐 yeah right... i would have missed that
Boris had the best plan
No plan survives first contact
Samurai Jack is such a badass!!
Jack!
Samurai Jack!
This....does put a smile on my face
...and just like that...
...it's over!
Anyone get The Hateful Eight vibes? Man this show was way way wayy ahead of its time
0.25 speed and I did not see what happened yet.
Did they really think they can take him down that easy?
Jack is really smart.
Back when they allowed violence on Cartoon Network
Ahh samurai.. I miss ya
Jack is the greatest fighter in fiction.
BAD ASS...PERIOD.
All that, in less than a second
I wish there was a automatic remote control that was affordable for everybody and it can take you back to life it's basically similar to a time traveler I would go back to when I was kid and back to the days I use to watch cool cartoons and tv shows on tv after school and then other kids at school would be talking about the shows and episodes 😊✌️
Watch Click.
Bounty Hunters don't know Jack!!!
There was an attempt.
Git gud or git got.
Badass samurai
Good old days
Good lord this man is a bad ass
Ah needs the theme tune for intro to be solid video 😂
Level 10s vs a level 20
Classic scene. Love SJ
You guys have to reboot samurai Jack!!!
They did, that was season 5.
That cat guy keeps on turning black and white during the fight lol.
Theres two of them
this might be a major whoosh moment but it was two brothers
Yoooooo I remember this fight the anticipation almost killed me
ok so is boris dead? if so is he a robot? in last season were to believe jack never killed a human before so?
Probably my favorite episode.
best scene the all life
First time I saw this episode as a kid I literally flipped the fuck out. Jack straight up killed all of em except her just ended them like a truly skilled samurai. I never doubted her ferocity for even a second ever again
The bounty hunters and Princess Mira were all skilled yet in one fell swoop they all failed.
Such a badass
All before the water drops.
This guy makes Kenshi look OP.
