Thanks. I just did a project similar to yours. I tried using 50/50 and some kind of mystery flux. I had a hard time. I'll try the muriatic acid and some 60/40 next time.
Thank you for this video. I need to make a tray for one of the band saws which has a coolant pump but it spills it on the floor. This is perfect and will be very helpful. I was not looking forward to soldering the galvanized steel. Thank you again this was great.
I had tried for years with no success. Found the idea of muriatic acid online from several HVAC sites and it was a game changer. Good luck with your project!
Hi, NOT talking about food or drinking water. Question??? Why is lead free solder not as good in this application? I have the muriatic acid. Just bought it at Menards few days ago. Have just ordered soldering iron 175 watt soldering iron off amazon, is this one i get going to be hot enough for this style of work you are showing? I have .26 gauge galvanized sheet metal to work with. Thank You!
The lead free has a harder time sticking to the galvanized metal but does work. Galvanizing is just zinc and lead and zinc are easier to bond together. I think the soldering iron should work it depends on the circumstances. Good luck with your project!

I've had the same experience. This was a game changer.
