- That was terrible. My buddy was panicking as he sunk more and more. Thank God I was out there when it happened.
Maverick had to be rescued, we got soaking wet at the game, the house is a disaster from the roof being replaced...it was a pretty good day though.

Poor maverick, so glad you saved him. After the roofer leave, go around with a large magnet to pick up any loose nails. Also check your rain sprouts, nails will come down those too.
Please check for nails, after our roof was done a couple years ago, I've had at least 5-6 incidents where a nail was stuck in the soles of my shoes after walking around outside
Found nails after roof for a few weeks after and mostly after rain. We bought a magnet sweeper
Djmax and taby Us too. My husband even checked the roof but I don’t recommend getting on the roof.
My roof was done in 2008 (way before I bought the house) and I still have nails come out of my gutters every once in a while.
Accidents happen, if the pool is covered up he doesn't know the pool is there....he is a dog...happy he is okay

The joys of house repairs. Just had a four month long reconstruction of four rooms in our house which is tiny and having to live in it whilst it was getting fixed up. With 2 kids 2 dogs 2 cats and 2 adults stuck in only 3 rooms and only a partially functioning kitchen and bathroom it's been a nightmare. For four months it's driven me crazy. ASA I feel your pain my entire house resembles Abbie's nest area for four months. With about as much space in the whole house available to use as where your couch and TV are. Thank goodness you were there to save maverick well done ASA

Asa Abbie's room is a typical teenage room. I think Abbie and Isaiah are awesome kids. You and Priscilla are truly blessed .

We had our roof redone and it was a MESS! They cleaned everything up when done but we still found random nails for a LONG TIME!! Also, I’m so glad Maverick is ok!! Poor pup ❤️
Asa, I am not only sad for Maverick, but being a super dog lover, I cannot imagine being in your position and having watched him. That would mess with me, too. You truly are his hero. No one should take this lightly -events like this can cause nightmares. You are truly Maverick's hero. You deserve hugs and lots of praise!
With the tarp he definitely couldn’t tell the difference between the hard concrete and the pool. Poor dude. I’m glad he’s ok.

I'm glad Maverick is ok. Make sure they get all the nails after they are finished. We had our roof redone some years ago and for several months we kept finding large nail.
Our dog did the same thing. I had a hard time pulling the tarp out to stop him from getting wrapped up and going under. Scared me half to death. Glad Maverick is ok.

Ugh what a scary moment. This happened with my dog before once too. He also hates the pool but that has nothing to do with it..they just have no idea the pool is there. It was so scary though because they get so scared and you can see it. Glad this story had a happy ending!
I cannot watch this video again Asa. I could feel the trauma you experienced with Maverick through the camera. I can’t believe some people are asking to see the footage. So glad Maverick is ok.
I own a roofing company and when we first started, I was up there roofing along side my husband. Our customers LOVED it and always took pictures ❤️❤️❤️

I had to save my dog from drowning in the pond(she's a toy poodle so she's not very big) . My little sister and I were walking around the pond I was standing on the edge and my dog stepped a little farther and sunk into the mud and freaked out and swam to the middle of the pond, then stopped and her head went under a couple times. I gave my phone and boots to my sister and jumped in grabbed her then swam into the mud at the edge and tossed her onto the bank and crawled out. Our pond is surrounded by trees so there is decaying leaves in it, which made us both smell so bad. Scared me so much I won't let her come to the pond with me anymore.
Great see Mavrick is ok. He would seen it as solid ground as the tarp is across the whole pool and not known it was there, I'm sure it was a shock to him. Glad you were in the right place Asa.

You got so lucky to be there when that happened. That’s how my family pet passed away about 10 years ago. I can’t even imagine what was going through his head while that was happening

Poor Mav! We lost a dog in the neighbors pool a few years ago. He got out when we were on vacation and we came home early to search for him. Stopped to ask the neighbor if they had seen him and they were cleaning their pool cause they had removed the cover and found him. Just the thought of what happened made me sick to my stomach.

Oh no! Poor puppy so glad Asa was around and saved him. It's horrible when something like this happens and it is terrifying and makes you realise how easy it is for it to happen. Dog or child, no one could swim out of that it's not cool and got to be super careful. Glad puppy is ok bless him.

Thank goodness you came to Mavericks rescue. We love our animals, they are considered family members, not pets. I would feel the same way as you, Asa, if it happened to my Nora, it would bother me for days,thinking what could have happened. Hugs to Maverick, poor baby. 😘

SO glad Maverick is ok! Fast thinking Asa! I live in the northeast where pools get covered all winter and that’s when my dog decides to run across the pool he avoids all summer... then he freaks when he feels the water because he forgets it’s a pool 🤦🏻♀️
that happend to a golden retriver i had he was walking on a snow coverd pool tarp it gave way and he fell in but im glad mavryck is ok the retriver was too
The same thing happened to Molly, the dog I had growing up!
My dad and his friend had just finished pulling the tarp over the pool when Molly saw her daddy on the other side of the “floor” and ran right on over. She sank like a ton of bricks, the tarp started folding over her and my dad jumped right in after her.
I’ve never seen him move that fast in his life but he got her out and she was fine after the initial shock ❤️
Thank goodness Maverick is ok! I love seeing him in your videos. He looks just like our Dixie who passed away a few weeks ago.

Same thing happened to my yellow lab years ago. Ran right onto the pool cover and fell through but no one saw him right away! Somehow he made his way to the side of shallow end, stood up on his hind legs with his front paws on the side barking for help! It was crazy!

I had my roof replaced about 9 years ago and I am still finding nails on my property..... I believe most roofers do try to clean up all the mess, but it is impossible. So please be careful with Abbie's bare feet..... Thanks for sharing another great video. Keep up the great work. ATB : )

Accidents definitely happen. Last week our cat escaped the garage because my husband was taking the trash to curbside and she escaped between his right leg and the side of the door. She decided, once he started chasing her, that she wanted to play the chasing game outside, lol. She was pretty much running in the street of our neighborhood. Fun times 😂
