Just seen them in Cape Town and they were awesome if you were in your twenties or teens in the 80s you must go back and see them again. Many thanks Deacon Blue for a great evening at Kirstenbosh Gardens.
I was ready to dump on this comment....till I watched it!!!! You nailed it!!! Note for note like the album version we grew up with but with the energy of a live performance, Absolutely brilliant!
Oh my Lord i can't love this performance enough to do it justice. Absolute highest level of brilliance and passion. I'm sttill in love with them like the very first time I heard Loaded and Dignity the 1st 2 songs I ever heard of theirs.
@@brosephyolonarovichstalin2915 Realistically the Waterboys is just Mike Scott, (who is from Scotland - the town of Ayr I believe), however other musicians have come and gone. During the late 1980's he/they decamped to Ireland have maintained a close link with the country since the Fisherman's Blues album (1987/8). Thus they often get mistaken for an Irish band.
Sometimes feelin`a little old, but otherwise ...Hah! the young`sters now, there 24, will not know something about this Band. What will they remember in 30 Years? ;))
@@randomuser4722 thats no problem so far i think. You'r on the right track at the right time. Choose wisely, take a look around and listen to the lyrics. Joap. Musik can change the world.
Just hit 50 years old...Remember these "punk" kids...Am I old?..Now I hear they are releasing music again... Go Deacon and I hope you get a new Audition base. xx
Bloody amazing; one of the finest songs ever written and one of my fondest childhood memories, all brought back by this great video - typing this with tears of joy in my eyes.
WOOOOO HOOO WOOOO HOOOO WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! You can see the PURE JOY they have singing together and bringing us all HAPPINESS - LONG LIVE THE DEACON!!!# SOMEONE GET DEACON TO THE O2 AND WEMBLEY!!! PLEASE!!! This song is LIFE!!!! If ya feeling sad put this on LOUD then TRY to be sad! Yor no gonny dee it!
Play this song nearly every day Lorraine is what makes the band for me. In this video she looks like a mental Scottish lassie but as she has got older just still as integral to the bans and also as said already. Them eyes.
En el capitulo de los Simpson donde Bart se enamora de una niña skater, bueno al final ella lo besa y se va y aparecen las letras de los creditos y atras suena "I'll never fall in love again" de esta gran y "underrated" banda escocesa...Deacon Blue
Nerdy thing…….I remember Deacon Blue being one of the first bands to feature the Roland RD-1000 piano - I think it was a performance of When Will You Make My Phone Ring - I was regularly playing one of those pianos at my local music store and dreaming of a day when I could buy one……anyway, I see a Yamaha CP-80 on stage - I don’t remember Deacon Blue using one - which songs was that used on?
If you sing a song that you did ages ago, then at the very least have the ENERGY of these guys, happy to do it, not looking bored or not happy, fast enough too to keep up with the original tempo.
I struggle to think of a better uplifting feel good song than this

Lorraine McIntosh still got a fabulous voice... And those eyes!!!!
The male singer's wife.
She’s absolutely gorgeous. Always was.
She’s fantastic singer
@@pauljordan4452 Lorraine
@@pauljordan4452 Yep, Ricky Ross is his name & I think they have been married over 30 yrs with a couple of grown up children. 👍👍👍👍
I wish Lorraine McIntosh had been lead singer on more songs. She has an amazing & unique vocal tone, tons of energy and joy.
Agreed, she's amazing
Absolutely ❤ totally agree.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCES I'VE SEEN
The whole concert is on the The Big Picture singles DVD- highly recommended. It is engrossing and incredible.

The very BEST
I agree but does anyone else think he looks wasted? 🤔🤣
Always loved this song. It just had a certain energy about it. THIS version takes that energy off the scale!
This song makes me feel good
No words for this, beautiful!!! Deacon Blue, Big Country and Waterboys are the best scottish rock bands (in my humble opinion, of course).
Waterboys are Irish?

Wow is all I can say... if only today's music was this good, its before my time but you cannot beat the 80s for music. What a decade 👏
It certainly was the best.
I was there for both I personally think the 90s edges it
Memories.
80's was the best. Because you still had bands from the 70's releasing music as well. ie queen, David Bowie etc

It never gets old. One of those songs.
Most beautiful song, and most beautiful blue eyes too 👍
There is no better, feel good, happy song I know of than this!
Exactly this, it reminds me of my childhood, and my parents playing it with our neighbours.
Just bought my tickets for their Dublin gig. I'm like a kid on Christmas eve.

"I'll do what I should have done. I'll say what I should have said". Deacon Blue.
telsah1 Yeah
Lorraine McIntosh, Kate St. John, Anna LaCazio, Wendy Smith... the 80s gave us some of the most beautiful and talented women in music!
Now if they made a harmony group, what would that sound like???? We can only dream.

Qué bonitos eran los conciertos en los años 80 y 90 sin teléfonos móviles.

Well, those days are way behind her alright.
she hasnt aged!
She still looks gorgeous even though she's 30 years older now, and had kids, 3 or 4, not sure how many.
❤️👍
Time isn't kind to many of us. As long as Ricky is happy then who are we to say.
This real heartfelt music. Where has the real music gone?
Y pensar que escuché este tema a comienzos de los '90 con 15 años...ahora con 45 me pongo nostálgico!! Gran banda escocesa...saludos desde Argentina!!
