      I mean logically speaking that makes the most sense too. The average Joe isn't understanding the depth at which Grand Masters are playing at. Yes, but I feel like instructing an intermediate player maybe like 1300-1800 would be more educational because both beginners and intermediate players can benefit. But here, pretty much anyone above 800 or 1000 would find it to be a bit slow.

  • @FS4SS
    @FS4SS 4 роки тому +94

    Hikaru needed to emphasize that Knights maneuvering backwards is a common theme in high elo games.
    Boxbox kept seeming confused about that concept (as a lot of intermediate players are) - and I wish Hikaru had let him know that Knights re-positioning can be a strong idea in closed games.

He's joking, but Hikaru didn't register it as such because his delivery was completely straight, you just have to know by the absurdity of his words that it's a joke, I just recognize it as I've seen a similar pattern of joking where you compare your own mental abilities to basic concepts that toddlers develop in other people as well.

      Naroditski is doing a really good instructional run through the ranks. on twitch his acc is around 1800 right now, breaking down every game at the interesting points. super great educational stuff. daniel's youtube is a couple weeks behind his twitch streams though. Hikaru is really great at concepts, but if you don't understand everything at play, some of what Naka says goes over peoples heads from assuming people know more than they actually do.

  • @toddfarkman2177

    What's funny is that people were trying the London on me and I reviewed the games and figured it out on my own. At first they were getting easy mates because I was clueless. Then I realized it was all because I castled too soon (as everyone constantly tells you to do) and I took their bishop opening the rook file. My easy solution was still to take their bishop but castle on the long side. Without their bishop and having two rooks back-to-back on an open rook file, I turned the tables on this London system. Now every clown that tries the London because it offers quick mates on the unsuspecting.....I destroy them because they are lost when I don't castle on the side they are focusing all their pieces.
