I’m big on Norse mythology and I much prefer the original 9 realms (meaning all the ones excluding Hel (as its own separate realm) and including nidavlir to separate the dwarves and dark elves (which had similar descriptions which I think is the reason for the mistranslation. Yes, Athena was envious of the talent of a mere mortal, it was the prideful attitude and bragging spirit that served Arachne her fate.
You missed the most important thing about Japanese mythology. Unlike most mythologies from other parts of the world, Japanese deities are mortal, just like humans. They’re not untouchable divine beings, they’re living just like us. There are countless stories of once enchanted forests and mountains losing protection because their gods died.
Athena is the goddess of war strategy and wits. Aphrodite, on the other hand, would be the god the love and beauty. And some stories say that Athena took pity on Arachne and turned her into a spider after Arachne tried killing herself because no one appreciated her beautiful weavings anymore.

Based on the inaccuracies, I wouldn’t be surprised. Athena is the goddess of war strategy, wisdom and weaving/artistry, Pēlē (from Hawaiian Mythology) was a volcano kupua, a supernatural human with godlike powers who is not a traditional “god” (kupua can be gods, but are also sometimes spirits or shape-shifting monsters), not an Akua, her GIRLFRIEND was Hi’iaka, not her sister. Māui was the one who mythologically made the Hawaiian Islands by pulling them up, not Pēlē. Though don’t quote me on the Hawaiian Mythology part-I got the information from OSP, their videos are amazing. Edit: On second thought, Pele might be an Akua, because she’s an “elemental goddess”. Though I might be wrong, I’m not Hawaiian and apparently the Akua-to-Kupua assigning is a very wooly sort of science.

The United Kingdom never had claim of Hawaii so its a bit strange you used the Union Jack to represent Hawaii
it kinda did and that is literally the flag, red with a union jack in the corner
@@ducky6964 Hawaii was an independent Kingdom for centuries until the US annexed it, the UK never actually had ownership of Hawai'i for the UK recognized Hawai'i as an independent Kingdom.
Also the Hawaiian flag is the UnionJack in the corner with alternating red, white and blue stripes, but that was adopted after being annexed by the US which was no longer under the US.
"Zeus your son has returned"

Chinese here,Monkey king is a novel character not mythology.
The character was created fairly late in the Chinese history and and are basically the Harry Potter of medieval China.
Bro in the Japanese mythology Amaterasu and Susanoo are mangekyo sharingan abilities 😂
Athena: Goddess of wisdom, war strategy, crafts, and the like turned Arachne into a spider because she let the praise received from her weaving skills go to her head and started claiming she was better than Athena herself. Yes, Athena was envious of the talent of a mere mortal, it was the prideful attitude and bragging spirit that served Arachne her fate.
Its kinda disappointing that you didnt go more in depth into the Celtic gods
Helheim is Niflheim…
1:36 athena isn't the goddes of love, she turned someone into a spider because they said they could weave better than her
Athena is the godess of warfare and wisdom
Eros is the god of love
And aphrodite is the godess of love and beauty
You missed the most important thing about Japanese mythology. Unlike most mythologies from other parts of the world, Japanese deities are mortal, just like humans. They’re not untouchable divine beings, they’re living just like us. There are countless stories of once enchanted forests and mountains losing protection because their gods died.
I think your talking about Aphrodite instead of Athena since Athena is the goddess of war, wisdom, and crafts
Athena is the goddess of war strategy and wits. Aphrodite, on the other hand, would be the god the love and beauty. And some stories say that Athena took pity on Arachne and turned her into a spider after Arachne tried killing herself because no one appreciated her beautiful weavings anymore.
mahalo for including us
I'm so sad Maasai mythology is not here
Woah this video is lacking much and explaining things badly
It’s a quick summarization. He can’t add every detail.
@@Orangutangfishermannbut he still got a lot wrong. I’m learning more from the comment section correcting him than from the actual video. As a Greek mythology nerd I’m disappointed about how he called Athena, a MAIDEN goddess, the goddess of love.
Athena is the god of wisdom and warfare not love
I had no idea that Kurama, the nine-tailed fox in Naruto, was based on an actual figure from Japanese mythology ö.ö
I'm pretty sure Naruto's Kurama is inspired by Yoko Kurama from YYH that was inspired by the ninetails. Kishimoto said he was a fan of Togashi's works so...
@@icyskyz8108 oh, thanks for the fun fact! ☺️
some of Naruto character & storyline is really based on Japanese Mythology & folklore..
Why are these mythologies but christianity, islam, judism, hinduism, Buddhism, etc theology. They both have the same amount of proof. If your current religion dissappeared would it become not real to you
There is no God, nor Gods, nor Goddesses, atleast in my opinion
@torrov i agree but how is one religion a religion and one a mythology
As I understand it, a religion has followers who believe in the teachings and stories. A mythology has teachings and stories, but they aren’t believed or followed (they may have been in the past but aren’t currently). Basically, religions are practiced and mythologies aren’t.
@jonk321 but if one person anywhere on earth believes it does it become theology
@@UA-camviewerwhoiscool no. Theology is the study of God. What are you talking about
Slight mistake the Inca emperor was just the Inca the rest were titled something along the lines of quechuanos as Quechua is the language the Incas primarily (to only) spoke
What about Sumerian/ Assyrian? Babylonian?
Too bad Basque Mythology isn't as popular as these other mythologies
Athena goddess of love is CRAAAZY ro say.
Lake Titicaca, Lake Titicaca, how we love to say your name.
bro spent 5 mins on norse mythology and like 30 secs on celtic
this video was presented by ChatGPT
Immediately jumped to the comments and saw that several mistakes were pointed out, which sucks. Would’ve been a nice video to come back to in order to understand more of the basics of world mythology, but now I don’t know what is true or false in this video.
Why does the Hawai’ian icon have a Union Jack flag?
How could you miss Indian mythology?
I thought Athena God of strategic warfare
Also forgot the current most prominent mythologies of buddhism, hinduism, and Abrahamic.
Kinda ironic that the earth mother is called Papa
AH YES THE COUNTRYBALLS USEND IN AN EXPLAINING VIDEO
ah yash athena the goddess of ''love''
Are you using AI to draw the balls, write the text, read the text and maybe animate the video?
It’s sad that people just label everything as AI nowadays.
@@RandomGuy0127 dude, have you seen the thousand different channels like this guy copying The Paint Explainer? All these videos are so lazy and quickly made, you'd be foolish to think AI isn't involved
