Imagine living what most people wouldn't consider the best life, but it's YOUR best life. It takes a lot of courage to listen and follow through with that.
happy birthday, Sophie ❤ thank you for being there for my dad (Jimbo) and showing him love and kindness. you are very beautiful and talented. God be with you on both your journeys ❤
Starting out in our journey, my wife and I lived on a very low income. We were very clean, didn't create a mess, repurposed items, and now remember it as a simple time in our lives. Now we live in a gated community with a high income and life is a lot more complicated but we still enjoy it. This brought back some fond memories. It also shows that you don't have to have a trashy place when you have a low income. I hope the best for this couple in whatever dreams they seek. Great music!
I lived in the coachella valley (cathedral city to be exact) my whole life so when that BIG storm came barreling through last September it had me worrying about all the people out in the slab city area. Im so glad to see that they are doing well out there. Thank you for sharing your lovely talent with us Sophie!! ❤
***PLEASE SUPPORT SOPHIE!!! SHE IS AN INCREDIBLE HUMAN AND DESERVES IT!!*** She's kind, generous, hard working, and incredibly talented. She will put any donations to good use for sure! She deserves the best things this life can offer and so much more than she gets. Making the best of things is an understatement when talking about Sophie. She's wonderful! Her dog is also hands down THE BEST tracker in the slabs and one of the most awesome dogs I've ever been given the honor to know. Sophie, Give him snuggles and scritches and lots of pets from me plz! Sophie: this is bout to be a long comment, forgive me and thanks for reading it anyway. (Hopefully you see it!!) I am missing you so much right now! Listening to you play again was such a lovely treat! It literally made me sob like a lil b*znatch..brought back so many memories..you play beautifully, as always. More often than not the best part of my days last year were getting to hear you playing... The lovely melodies floating along the hot desert winds to my ears always felt so surreal and so special...especially after losing Deuce... they're etched permanently into my memory and on my heart. You have such a lovely gift and beautiful spirit chica. I Just had flashbacks of all the times hearing you play, and the times when my heart was just so heavy and I could hardly even breathe around the grief.. you always seemed to have a sixth sense of things and would play something that fit the moment or soothed the pain or even just spoke to the loss and the ache I was feeling..It was truly incredible... every time you'd play, it gave me just enough proof that beauty was still present in the world and gave me a reason to keep going each day when that was the hardest thing for me to try to do. You have no idea how many times your music flowing out over the desert soothed the pain in my heart just enough to keep me keeping on and literally stopped me from going fully over the edge of madness and heartbreak... Kept me from giving up completely more times than I can count...and that's not an exaggeration either... it was like theme music playing, my own personal soundtrack of life playing as I went along, narrating perfectly what my soul was feeling and reminding me again that there was still so much beauty and goodness in the world to live for and to experience in spite of the heavy burden of grief and desperate suffering I was carrying with me minute by minute. I honestly wouldn't have made it out of that darkness without you. Your beautiful gift and the goodness you share with the world helped light the way for me and soothed my beat up soul...you picked me up when I stumbled more times than you ever knew. From the bottom of my broken heart, thank you for that. I have the chance to somewhat attempt to heal and it's largely thanks to you. I'd have been lost to the grief and the darkness otherwise. You have my unending gratitude. I can't ever thank you enough for being my friend, for being there when i needed a hug, for saving me and the puppers from going thirsty and hungry time and time again, and for being the best dang neighbor any slabber could ask for. ❤❤❤ I miss you and your other half bunches! Y'all are so awesome! I feel really lucky and blessed to know you and to have gotten the chance to be your neighbor. I will be grateful for all you've done for me all the rest of my days. I hope some day I can repay your kindness and somehow manage to help you even half as much as you've helped me. I sure hope people send you lots of moolah, you are one of the most deserving people I've ever met, in the slabs or out here in Babylon. Keep being your awesome beautiful and wonderful self😎 !!! The world needs that ! Hopefully I can come home and see you all again in person soon 🤞 🤞 🤞 Babylon has been a real craptastic experience this time out, for sure. Wasn't sure I'd even make it out of that damn hospital alive, let alone make it back home alive...but alas I'm luckily pretty damn hard to kill 😉😎 Not even cancer could take me out, especially after everything I survived out there already. Suck it cancer! LOL😂 God has my back and wants me to stick around apparently. I just miss home now so much and wish I was there. I'll be able to come home again soon thank God. I Can't frickin wait!!! Love ya chick! say hi to your dude for me and our mutual friends too... especially the metal man and his missus and the mini human of theirs that we all love so much..I truly hope they're doing well and are safe and healthy and happy too. Aww, hey Jewelz! Thank you so much. Your comment meant so much to me and brought a tear to my eye for real. Im glad you're doing ok out there and its wonderful to hear from you
I was wondering the same thing .There is no way that Piano can sound like that with the sand blowing and the extreme weather .I left my guitar outside one night and i had a heck of a time cleaning it up with the sand
Her piano playing was an extension of her heart and soul. I was very impressed and warmed by it. I wish her the best. With her ambition and smile, she will continue to thrive.
Impressed at how neat and orderly Sophie and her partner's place is. She proves you can have very little, and most of it someone else's old junk and still make it look lovely and appealing.❤❤
And she could set up some kind of "tip jar" or "buy me a coffee" account. I'd happily send a buck or two after watching her play some piano on a video. There are so many people out here with true talents that are of interest to many, but they can't bust through the UA-cam algorithm of "go big or go home," so they just end up giving up after awhile and then the world loses another voice that could have and should have been heard.
@yepiratesworkshop7997 Yes! Totally. That was a really hauntingly beautiful yet powerful song... and I know all to well what you mean about "go big or go home". I've been trying to grow my small channel and it's been like pulling teeth out here! But some people go viral instantly and get all the love. I don't get it. Feels like a lottery to me.
Thanks for introducing the lovely and talented Sophie! That piano has excellent sound, given that it sits out in the elements and has likely seen a lot of action over the years. And she plays it beautifully. I think you should incorporate Elisa in your intro montage! We're finally getting some warm weather here in Richmond, and of course with it is the nasty pollen that is blasting everywhere and turning everything a shade of green. Time to get the princess out and fire her up!
Thanks for the comment my friend. I really should incorporate her into the intro. Btw I took a ride this weekend to stretch Nightbirds wings. I will be uploading it shortly. I forgot how good the highway felt. Take care and ride safe! I appreciate you.
Wow, just wow! I do believe that Sophie is an angel 😇. She plays the piano so beautifully. She is such a positive influence, amazing & super talented. I absolutely love her home & how unique it is to her!! Creativity & passion flows from within her. I am so happy I clicked on video. I wish her so much luck, love & happiness on her journey ❤
Beautiful lady, beautiful place, beautiful song and wrapped in a bow with an inspiring message. UA-cam should be grateful for videos like this one! Outstanding! 🐰!
I like the fact that she’s 2 miles away from the actual slab city. Because let’s be real there are a lot of misfits in slab city that think they’re entitled to take your property. Their excuses oh, I just borrowed it permanently. There’s also been murders there at slab city And people drugged and raped. So no slab city is nothing to be romanticized about. Like I said, thank God she lives 2 miles from it.
Should the opportunity to visit Slab city. arise, I will say Yes. Very pleased with the musical appreciation of Sophie. A delight to have classical music in Slab City.
Slab City is such a cool place. I dont think i could personally live like that all the time but its interesting to see that such a place is allowed to exist.
We see u guys avoided showing the bathroom. But I think its what most intrigued us. Sophie that was a sweet sweet beautiful sound u played on that piano. We really enjoyed it.

A true Oasis in the Desert. I can almost feel the Peace in that place. A little story; I bought a House in a little town just outside Macon Georgia, had a two lane road, kinda quiet, About 5 years ago. Today Houston County Georgia forced me to sell some number of feet of my property at a substandard price. Today, that little two lane is a 5 lane Super Highway, very noisy! So I see what you’ve done there and I’m a little envious i gotta say. Seems like you can feel the Peacefulness there. But just wanted to say I hope you’ve found your Utopia there and Peace, Love and Happiness abounds in you. I enjoyed your Piano Piece and the Tour very much! I’m 75 and a little old for the struggles of building something like that. Keep our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in your life, that’s the final touch for Peace. Thank you again Sophie!
