    Bodybuilders and physique athletes sometimes get laughed at for obsessing over their diets-planning things out to the gram, measuring food on scales, and being able to break down a meal into macros by sight.
    But in my experience, they're a really advanced group when it comes to nutrition. They understand a lot of things that people in general society don't.
    I want people to be more educated about what they eat. It's a major part of why I became a professor and researcher: to share the latest insights that science has to offer about how to eat to build muscle, get shredded, and built your best physique.
    Don't rely on the latest fad or macronutrient witch hunt for guidance on something as crucial as nutrition.

      it doesn't have to be bad
      - is the beef (or meat) lean or not? ground bison for example is an excellent choice
      - is the cheese processed? rather than singles use something like blue cheese or real cheddar
      - is the bun made with bleached and refined flour or something a bit more wholesome and grainy
      - many calories will come from condiments, so rather than ketchup have tomatoes instead and keep the ketchup, mayo, mustard and sauce to a bare minimum...
      - rather than have a side of fries have a salad
      - instead of a soft drink, a glass of water

    This is some of the best explained knowledge of nutrition I’ve ever heard, key takeaways, eating more fat and less carbs in the morning train your body to metabolise fat and store carbs for fuel, he didn’t mention it but that will lead to much better pumps and energized workouts 💪, also sodium will keep you hydrated helping your pump and in turn helping your muscles grow

    This is what I wanted to learn about when I signed up for health class in 9th grade, turns out it's a class that neglects physical health and focuses on the "mental" health like depression, stress, etc. Why isn't this required? Especially in the western society, we need more knowledge on health. This is exactly why 60+% is obese.

      Then you probably have great genetics for mass gain, for other people its not that easy to gain. Also you had mass to begin with, if you lost 75lbs. No skinny guy is gunna gain mass from simply cutting calories. lol

    • @Athena_Ready
      @Athena_Ready 8 років тому +2

      +AJ Isquierdo I really don't, I just started out as some average guy, before training, had more fat than muscle, but wasn't a fatass don't get me wrong, I just dieted and did strength training, it's not hard, a have a bunch if friends at my school with different body types that did the same thing for either cutting or mass gaining. You just need to understand what amount of weight, reps and sets to do to stimulate hypertrophy and just a lot of protein and fat, shit I ate a lot of carbs too...simple. it's muscle building or strength building or muscle endurance building, there's simple weight, reps and sets to do, to gain them. Same goes for nutrition. But hey that's just my opinion on the matter

    Although it, unfortunately, causes a lot of heated arguments, it's videos like this that made me fall in love with studying holistic nutrition. Really only time will tell what was best for humans and what was not so good. Thankfully, we have so many dedicated groups who will end up following their particular program for the entirety of their life... Whether is paleo, vegan, vegetarian or whatever, it is hard to argue some of the incredible improvements people make by following diets such as the three I listed.
    If anyone is interested in building muscle in a health way, here are some things that I learned from studying and going to school for holistic health that can hopefully help you.
    >LOTS of vegetables seems to be something that never comes in in health studies as being a negative. If you really want to play it safe, stick with the leafy greens. People can make good arguments for some vegetables not being safe for everyone, but it seems to be a very rare occurrence that someone has a bad reaction to say, spinach.
    >Organic, and preferably local, is by far the way to go. I actually think this is where so many studies get skewed. We see that grains are bad for you in some studies, or that meat causes cancer... What they don't tell you is that the grains were sprayed with glyphosate (RoundUp) because the seeds were genetically modified and resistant to it. What they also don't tell you is that the meat was acquired straight from a factory farm where sanitation is basically a foreign concept, and antibiotics are used to make the animals fat.
    I've been experimenting with different diets including variations of vegetarian and paleo for a couple years now and I personally promise you that a difference will be felt in your body by going organic and trying to eat as much leafy greens as possible. As for the rest, as stated in the beginning, it seems only time will tell.
    Hope this helps some people.

    eat eggs, beef, venison, lamb, for protein. eat less pork. try substituting fish sometimes instead of chicken or turkey. don't underestimate fish, its very high in minerals, especially sardines and salmon, and your body needs minerals. for carbs, don't sweat it. just pick something thats halfway healthy, like potatoes or beans or 7- grain bread, don't eat the empty calorie stuff like white bread or salty snack food. eat root vegetables and cooked greens with your meat, they contain a lot of nutrients your body needs. Everything I'm saying is pretty basic stuff, you don't have to do tons of research or stress it if you want to build a stronger and healthier body. In my opinion you cant put on muscle mass and build a stronger body without building a healthier body as well, the two go hand in hand.

I started going to the gym regularly about 9 months ago, and just recently started to settle into a routine and diet that looks to be working based on what the scale says. Although I'm seeing more definition, my arms don't look any bigger than when I started. I try to focus more on burning all this fat off but it looks like it's gonna take some time :/

    -Just fucking work your muscles until you think you did enough. You are tired and you leave the gym weak and exausted
    -Bench
    -Squat
    -Deadlift
    -PowerClean
    -Hill sprints/sprints (my favorite cardio exercise for burning many calories)
    -These exercises work the majority of your major muscles.
    -Curls, skull crushers, calf raises, abs ect should come second (In My Opinion)
    -Drink water throughout the day and nothing else except a cup of shitty black coffee or tea (remember, no additional things to process your food/drink)
    -Work your best to your ability in any state of physical ability.
    Fuel your body with what grows on the earth and roams the earth, (it's rawest state, the less processed the better).
    And come back for some more IRON BABY!!
    =||||==👊😠👊==||||=
    Modern civilization has changed many of our minds and simple processed foods can cause addiction.. Adding sugar, condiments, toppings, frying in oils ect. Eat basic raw foods and work your ass off just like any human before civilization. If they weren't swole, they were usually ripped if they were fed well!
    It's your choice. Grind through the week with your boring fuel and have a nice cheat meal on the weekend and look great, or enjoy your tasty food througout the week but frown in the mirror in the morning when your fat starts to creep up on your body.
