On your example of Aki's clothing, wouldn't it be more of figuring out where the highlights would be instead of the shadows? As the clothing is black you are toning/hatching/living white, where the highlights should be on a colored illustration.

This style of video was very easy to digest with it being sweet and to the point, but can't say which I like better because you're still very informative DD. Anyways, I do see this being helpful for not only black an white manga style but also for colored pieces to. Will definitely try it for both in the future!! PS. !! Could I request a favourite artist study of Ken Wakui, creator of Tokyo revengers? In his early works/very early chapters of Tokyo Rev, he has a more semi-realistic style whereas later in the series and over the years- it turns into more of a nice shounen style. So prefirebly somewhere in between there!
