- Time for another tutorial! In this one I show you how to use strong blacks in comic book drawings. But you can also use this knowledge on every other drawings, especially when you are pursuing a realistic look. These shadings add drama to your drawing and also let it look like it's out of life.
I hope you enjoy this video with a lot of tips and tricks during the whole thing, also a lot of real time drawing will be found, cause that's actually quite important to watch when you want to improve your drawing skills.

great explainations :D - I'd agree on making your drawings more "sloppy" if they are to clean it looks kinda artificial and dead :)

Although it’s not so important with your style, it’s more color based. But it doesn’t have to be black, you can also use most of the tips with just darker areas I guess 😅

Whenever I sit to draw a character with full preparations, this happens: "Wait, what pose will I draw ? How will the character standing ? No no no ! This isn't happening again ! No ! (Slams the pencil on the desk and angrily exits the room). Doc, can you fix this drawing disease of mine ?
Haha. I know what you mean. And yes. I will make a video on gesture drawing, that will help.
But till then - choose a cool pose you like from jim lee or david finch and do your Charakter in that pose. But don’t overthink it!! Take one of the first five poses you can find ✌🏻☺️🙏🏼

Idk imo strong black can be an efficient tool with pencil and ink. But when you add color it suddenly becomes weird. I looked at both Jim Lee’s and David Finch’s art and they both dont look great on color. Greg Capullo doesnt do much rendering but his arts still look awesome
