  • Short video showing production steps of wooden hospitality plates. wood used is beech bought as prefabricated, glued, solid plates 40 mm thick.
First, all the boards are cut to dimension using our wall cutter saw. After programming and tool path check, boards cut to dimension are fixed on their base and kuka kr 150 industrial robot does its magic. Router bit used has rounded edges so inner part of grooves can be easily cleaned later on. After CNC machining, peaces are sanded using powertools and by hand to smooth out the surface. Outer edges are rounded using a router. A hole is drilled trough which a teapot cable will be pulled trough.
After sanding, all the dust is blown using compressed air and two coats of Water based matte varnish are applied. Between the two coats, after first coat has dried, surfaces are sanded again by hand using fine 240 sponge sandpaper to assure smooth surface.

Really enjoyed your video! What make/model tool bit are you using on the robot? I haven’t seen it before and I really like it!

I notice you're not much of a talker, ;-) But I'd love to have a video on your kuka robots. How did you come to own them? What model are they?
