I cannot believe I only discovered him in 2018. This man is such an amazing human. His music is so emotional and impactful for me. I can’t imagine my life before it, without it. I saw him in Houston in March 2020 about a week before everything shut down. That was my last concert experience since. If I never go to another one, I’m glad I still have that in my heart.
I worked at a bar which was connected to a caravan resort and a workmate invited me to his caravan to get stoned. Stoned I got. At some point I decided to walk home, I had my portable CD player with me (we're talking over 20 years ago here) and the one CD in it. Ocean Machine. I don't remember much of the walk home, this album completely scrambled my head.
I listened to The Hummer in LSD and I died, met a universe sized octopus god, I turned into a ball if light, I experienced every emotion from every perspective possible. Good stuff!
Same, my mate was watching the Retinal Circus, and I was thoroughly confused the whole time then I just had to ask "I thought he was the metal guy in Strapping Young Lad?" when this song came on
The first version of “March of the Poozers” I listened to was the live version, so I went to listen to the studio version afterwards, but couldn’t find it. I did find it. It’s just that the studio and live versions sound exactly alike I couldn’t tell the difference lol
He has disbanded this project, but should be going out on the road with another band/group of musicians in support of his "Empath" album. He is definitely on my list of "must see" artists!
I saw him March 2020 in Houston literally days before everything shut down. It was mind blowing. He talked about how things were getting scary but to stay positive. This man is a treasure to this earth. I can’t believe I only discovered him in 2019!!!
My life is all that I've known And it's all that keeps me here My time is all that I own So I won't let it slip away... How long can this life go on Who we are what we are... I'll see you on the other side Wouldn't you rather live it on your own Even when it bends you over So when it comes time to go home You don't let them fade away... How long can this all go on? How long till it's over? And how long till it all comes down? ...And how bad do we need a new reminder? How long can this life go on Who we are what we are... I'll see you on the other side How long can this life go on Who we are what we are... I'll see you on the other side How long can this life go on Who we are what we are... I'll see you on the other side I'll see you on the other side I'll see you on the other side
I can confirm that's a side effect. I've been to his shows twice now, once at a festival, and the other in a (for an artist of his caliber) tiny venue. The second one was like a dream. It was perfect, I had goosebumps non-stop, and all of his songs were so beautiful and the guy was so nice to us all, I almost threw my panties at him. But yeah, in all seriousness, there is no other music that moves me so much than his does. I almost cried at his concert. Because I was watching a man doing what he loves, playing what we love.
@@MIDA4LIFE couldn't have said it better myself (minus the panties 😬). I saw him last Friday in a small venue and like you said it's almost like he's there, playing just for you. The set could've lasted days and it still would have been too short
We should all be grateful to live in the same time period as Devin Townsend.
I wish I could like this statement a thousand times.
I posted pretty much the exact same thing on another video just now haha
Yes!
I told the same...as with pink Floyd
Agreed ❤️
"I'll see you on the other side!"
No matter how many times I listen to this song that line always gives me chills.

The first time I ever heard this song I was stoned out of my mind and was convinced I experienced heaven for 4 minutes.

You were in heaven my friend

Been a fan ever since
2:06 "It's cold in Plovdiv tonight guys, but it's warm in our hearts!" Could not be any more true.
2:06 - Devin is so precious, we must protect him at all cost
Devin played this in Dublin, Ireland, last night. In a very cool, old theatre called the Olympia. The walls themselves were weeping tears of joy!!
It’s impossible to listen to this song without a big smile on your face!
I feel like Devin Townsend is the artist that I have always been searching for.
great Devin, you are a talent, your voice drives me crazy, and the music, without comment, is amazing
This song reduces me to happy tears. every. single. time.
I'm always amazed by his voice that sounds so much better than his records... Only a few singers like this
The first version of “March of the Poozers” I listened to was the live version, so I went to listen to the studio version afterwards, but couldn’t find it.
I did find it. It’s just that the studio and live versions sound exactly alike I couldn’t tell the difference lol
There is death metal, and then there's life metal.
I love how I keep finding new songs I haven't heard before
This song is so good.
Miss this lineup :(
Sqiuds bass sound is just epic.!!!
I immediately feel the urge to watch this band live.
He has disbanded this project, but should be going out on the road with another band/group of musicians in support of his "Empath" album. He is definitely on my list of "must see" artists!
Saw him in June in Tucson. Truly awesome experience.

Damn, every time i listen to this i understand true happiness again.
this man is a gift....
This song hits me really hard right in the soul!
Gawd damn! I never get sick of this tune.
Ryan KILLED IT on the drums. Sounds so clean!
So true !
Don’t seems so, during the chorus…
damn the drum sounds tight.
Of course, it's all we hear! haha
Requested this at my funeral
My life is all that I've known
And it's all that keeps me here
My time is all that I own
So I won't let it slip away...
How long can this life go on
Who we are what we are...
I'll see you on the other side

You don't let them fade away...
How long can this all go on?
How long till it's over?
And how long till it all comes down?
...And how bad do we need a new reminder?
How long can this life go on
Who we are what we are...
I'll see you on the other side
How long can this life go on
Who we are what we are...
I'll see you on the other side
How long can this life go on
Who we are what we are...
I'll see you on the other side
I'll see you on the other side
I'll see you on the other side
Much Love, this song made my Last happy momment with The person that i loved. 5 years ago.

@1:35 the blonde girl is feeling the music, beautiful.

No, I'm not jealous, sir. I'm just admirative.
WE WILL SEE ON THE OTHER SIDE !!!!!!!
Well, i think i'm in love with the girl full of happiness at 1:34 = )
I think is a well known Devin's side effect (and this song expecially) :)
Yeah, I came to say that's pretty much how I looked seeing him live. And I'm a bald chubby dude.
I can confirm that's a side effect. I've been to his shows twice now, once at a festival, and the other in a (for an artist of his caliber) tiny venue. The second one was like a dream. Me too. :)

Goes from life to a shitstorm.
Im convinced that Devin has a identical twin who does metal. No way one man can go from this to the most brutal song ever
I FUCKING LOVE YOU

Is this even the same guy who wrote the beyond brutal songs like Shitstorm ?

Not a hair follicle in sight
Whats wrong with bass-player?
He has multiple sclerosis. It´s John Harder aka Squid Vicious (the original bass player for Ocean Machine and Punky Brüster).
Oh, I see, thank you, good man.
can anybody tell me why the bass player is sitting on a chair
He has MS
@@DanaMedic77 thanks for the answer
@@Money.Rocks.Podcast No problem!
No metalhead can frown to this song. All smiles for satan
Amazing! But something strange with the drumming…
Were going to have to talk about the sitting bassist. I mean...c'mon bro. Don't be a party pooper.
JR has multiple sclerosis
Okay Madonna.
