Can EAL Break 90 from the tips on The Ocean Course's PGA Championship Layout? - Back 9

- THE BACK 9 IS HERE! Break 90 is back for the 2021 PGA Championship at The Ocean Course at Kiawah. The Ocean Course might just be the most difficult course in the United States. Some would argue the world.
Under championship conditions from the back-back, this course has teeth.

Last 5 minutes of this video is just perfect. The music, message, and editing are on point.
Cool to see you here Cub!
This one is our best break 90 episode we have ever done!! Just complete vibes... Very happy with it. E
I didn’t know cub liked golf!!
Agreed - that was very well edited!
The outro track is super dope!
- “He hit this 5 wood 3 times!”
- “...per hole”
😂😂😂😂
The good vibes of this video are absolutely off the charts
facts
That 5 wood out of the bunker is the feeling that we all chase
I’ll remember that shot for the rest of my life.
We all chase sapphire FIFY.
Technically not a bunker! No bunkers on the course.
Props to the editor this is one of the best golf films I have ever seen
Ayy thanks :)
The soundtrack with that sunset was everything.
The last 10 minutes are just pure therapy🥰
Absolutely
Just a modest, soul searching banana before the back 9
HAHAHAHA when all hope is gone save for just enough to rip a few down the stretch
No lie, when I saw him casually snacking that banana, I knew the tide was about to turn - golf wise - in a very positive way.
I love EAL’s romantic speeches between shots. He says the same thing every time in a different way and the caddy just nods. It’s so funnny. Love you Erik
never know what cut will make it into the final product!
this might be an overlooked part of the video.. but the music is SO good
The cut at 19:06, is one of my all time favorite UA-cam golf moments. With the music, the visuals, the vibes, it's quintessential RGC and EAL to me.
Couldn’t agree more! The song is by Sarah Kang
"A par on 18 is like meeting her on the last day of your vacation," and is the reason I keep going back to try and find her at the end of every round
As a guy who's just trying to bogey his way around municipal courses, this stuff is both inspirational and intimidating! Break 96 indeed!
Inject those last 5 minutes into my veins. Straight up ethereal.
The production value on this is really something to behold. You played some great golf on the back 9, Erik.
EAL referring to links in the "UK" and then referencing Ballybunion and Lahinch
whoever did the music for this video did a great job

I started playing golf a month ago
I always thought Golf was about being really good at it but through your videos I learned that the goal is to enjoy the time and the beauty of the sport. Since then I don’t get frustrated if I loose a ball or hit a terrible shot. I still strive to be better but I don’t want to get too frustrated through it.
Amazing videos that highlight the real goal of golf
Love this train of thought - enjoying the game no matter your skill level should always be #1🙏
What a special treat to have two episodes in two days. Broke 90 for the first time after undergoing a 100lb weight loss (and a severe swing change) and a 3 year break from the game. RGC and EAL have not only brought me back to a game which mirrors life in so many ways, but also reminded me of why exactly we play golf. Always a pleasure to watch!
Glad to hear your back on the course enjoying your self - see you out there 🙌
Caddie Mark is an absolute legend. Great guy.
I can't wait to pull this video up in like 6 months and just smile for 20+ minutes. The vibes on this back 9 are insane. Especially when the sun started to set.
doing that now :')
The last song of the video and that caddy were gold. Again RGC knocks it out with another great series.
"Per hole"
This caddy is such a legend.
This video affirms the beauty of golf. Everyone that plays, or has played, longs for the connection during this 5 hours that Mark and Erik have here. Great stuff.
I’ve been playing this silly little game for the last 33 years. I’ve been teaching for the last 6. I love this game in its entirety. I never thought I could be inspired watching a 3 HC try to break 100. Yet here we are.
Cheers to you sir.
That music choice during your RGC shoutout is just incredible. I can almost feel and smell the air that you are experiencing, the grass swaying through my hands. Love it
That editing on the two putt on 17 was sick!!
Wondering how this is possible? 15k views and only 1k likes. How? I mean the quality of this vid is phenomenal. Great job EAL and crew thank you ❤️
I just started working at KIGR and have playing privileges for the five courses on the resort. I walked the back nine at the ocean course this evening with no one else on the backside. It’s such a blessing to have this opportunity as someone who loves golf as much as I do.
I laughed about 6 holes into your round. An incredulous laugh. That course is insanity from the tips in the wind. Shooting 99 in those conditions deserves a medal. It makes me really appreciate how good the pros are.
This video perfectly sums up what made me fall in love with RGC and Adventures in Golf years ago! The story, the commentary, even the vibes from the soundtrack make for a thoroughly enjoyable video. EAL can inspire up there with the best of them.
This is the type of video that makes you fall in love with golf
Honestly one of the best things I've watched in a long time.
My bucket list now officially includes playing a round with EAL
As it should :)
I always expect to have to wait a few days for the next episode yet here it is!!! Let’s goooo!
These two videos show you exactly what the golf roller coaster is about. You’re nervous on first couple of holes, then go through all the frustrations in the world when expectations aren’t met, and at some point… you accept the game for what it is and enjoy the rest of the ride. THEN, you hit those couple of shots that bring you back for more.
Perfect video(s), especially the last one. It definitely hits. Thank you for making such great content. Hats off to your film crew, they get that b-roll, angles and soundtrack to make you feel like we’re right there with you. Lastly goes without saying, EAL, you’re the man. Cheers 🍻
Golf loves a grinder. 99 is a great score Erik, thanks for taking us on the journey.
Really shows you when you're not worried about score you can play well. Front 9 it was in your head then most of the back 9, when you're just enjoying playing, you actually start doing a lot better.
Would also echo others in these comments. Your editing team time and time again somehow manages to turn on course content into a WHOLE ASS vibe. To successfully convert my own feelings from a sunset round into a video is not an easy thing to do
This whole break 90 video should win an academy award for best performance beat picture and best music. Amazing work EAL and the RGC crew
Can Mark come and caddy for all of your break 90 videos? He’s just awesome!
It’s also such a joy to watch you playing and loving each shot when you aren’t thinking about the score.
Words cannot describe how much I love this!!! It feels illegal for this to be free. It’s so cool how you guys make golf everyone’s sport and not only a rich old white mans one. Thanks a lot.
I haven’t watched the entire video yet, but the undeniable optimism that kicks off this masterpiece is contagious and it makes me want to have the best back nine of my life
Just makes you smile watching Erik play, he sees the beauty in everything. such a sick guy.
That caddy is amazing. Just so chill, totally keeps a calm vibe the whole round.
damn man, that's a good score for this course. Nice work Erik. Your turnaround in attitude from front to back was impressive. I would have left after about the 6th hole.
Mark is an excellent caddie. Nice work to him.
And nice work to the crew as always. High quality stuff right there
I've enjoyed every "Break 90" video, but this one just hit different... This is great content. Well done.
This caddy’s one liners are on another level. Great video as always EAL!
Mark seems like an awesome dude. Great video, as always. Cheers to you, EAL, as well as the RGC Community. Life is good.
The vibe of these videos are incredible.
If I could express the vibe, style and energy I want in life, it’s literally RGC
The best break 90 of the series: best course, best vibe, everything was perfect. ⛳️
Dude, this is not a golf video, this is a film. Inspirational and emotional Erik, thanks for all you are doing for the golf community. Greetings from Spain
This video could be EALs best. The commentary to go along with the landscape. Great job team!
I've never seen Golf this way. it takes dust off the sticks and gives it a whole new dimension.. Well done.
This is another excellent golf film by EAL & the RGC crew. The cinematography, the soundtrack, the characters (EAL, his caddy, the course & the WIND!) were all terrific. Thanks for the great work, Erik! Would love to buy a box of those character balls too.
I watch tons of videos here on youtube. These videos are 1000% my favorite. Always has me smiling. 10/10 would recommend
My favourite break 90 video. So far.
EAL and the RGC - that was amazing. You guys should be proud. I never understood how truly difficult that course is and I'd take a 99 anytime. Thank you.
Having a par on the last is like having a shower before bed, and getting into to bed with clean bed sheets! Absolutely love the videos, makes your realise how good the pros really are!
Best breaking 90 video so far, Erik. You really captured the magic of enjoying golf here, which you could tell by the look on your face at the very end. Thank you!
Erik! My man! You are so inspiring!! The profound insight you just spout! “If you can afford to play here, you’re used to having control in your life. But not here” 🤌🏼 perfection!
You just eased into the back nine. The caddie was awesome.
I enjoy your breaking 90 films the best because it’s real golf perspective of the tough courses that the professionals play. Thanks!
Its the shots like that 5 wood out of a bunker that keep ya going back. Like you said, you'll remember that one forever but the bad ones will fade. Love it
The caddy was awesome.... Definitely added to the experience
"Can EAL break 90" series is without a doubt my favorite golf series on UA-cam. The Ocean Course is my favorite thus far... editing, music is immaculate and Eric just seems like such a cool guy.
The production quality of your channel far exceeds your subscriber count, I’m excited to see all the videos you’ll make. The breaking sawgrass series was awesome too
That 5 wood out of the bunker made me feel some type of way. Stunning work Erik and Co.! The vibes and golf were off the charts
There’s something about this video that just gives hope as a golfer, even when EAL isn’t playing a fantastic front 9 he can turn it around by just relaxing and enjoying the little things. Great message, great film, love the shit out of this channel and golf club.
A lot of people, along with myself, enjoy these break 90s at bucket list courses so much, but I hope you're having as much fun on camera as we are! I imagine it's a strange feeling (bittersweet?) to go to these legendary places with a score in mind. I would wager that most people who have the privilege to tee up at these courses are just focused on enjoying the course rather than beating a score.
This video truly hit like a par on 18. Rare to get that feeling we all chase anywhere, even on the course, and yet the RGC team manage it seemingly with every video, this one especially. From a long time listener first time caller, thanks for sharing the RGC vision and creating something really special.
You got every bit of the OC, length and wind. I played there a few years back, a lunchtime thunderstorm chased most people away and I ended up playing what felt like the last 12 or so holes all to myself, it was glamorous. And my caddie, like yours, was amazing and it really made the round memorable.
What an incredible video.
The fact that this was posted on a platform that is 100% free for anyone in the role to watch is literally just a gift from God.
Thank you for this masterpiece that was the best damn 99 I have ever seen.
Yo mark the caddie was awesome! He seemed like he was made for this course.
Erik - First of all, awesome video!! I wanted to say how much I appreciate you going so in depth so we can experience this sweet course with you! With that being said, I’m sorry but you’ve got to figure out how to shave strokes on putting. Odds of making a 20 + footer are pretty low, so just try to give yourself tap in two putts at worse, instead of being too greedy and 3/4 putting like you did a few times today. Take those strokes out, and you’ve broken 90 right away!😊
Just a quick tip, but thanks for being a fun channel!
This is the most magnificent story about a 99 round ever told.
Erik & RGC. Your shows are just incredible!!! I literally can not wait every week for a new video. Your production and cinematography is just next level. I never thought I could love golf more than I did, and then I started watching your show. Love you guys!! Bring Back Stuart though ;)
5 wood out of the sand was amazing. Changed the hole vibe of the video. It turned the round positive. Huge call from the caddie
Eric is the best. Real and flawed just like we all are and nothing brings out your true character like golf.
That edit on the 2 putt for hole 17 is one of the best things I've seen on this channel. Very cool.
One of the best produced videos I’ve ever seen, everything from the music to the B roll shots. Great work Erik!
I cannot wrap my head around how this channel doesn't have at least 5 to 800k subscribers. Editing is on another level. Another banger from you guys 🔥🔥 Thanks for the entertainment, RGC and EAL.
hole 16 with that music playing in the background is what I imagine heaven is like. Unreal video as always!
There is definitely something magical about finishing up with the sun setting. Your attitude on the back 9 is what I strive for when I play, brushing off the bad shots and truly enjoying the good shots and vibes. Thank you EAL and RGC for the positivity and inspiration to get out and enjoy the game.
these are the best videos in any category on UA-cam. The cinematography is just.... on par...
The last 8 minutes of this video is a straight up vibe!!!
Just goes to show how beautiful this game is no matter what your out come is.
Something we can all relate to... struggling on the golf course, getting frustrated, then puring that 1 shot, which makes it all worth it (and keeps you coming back for more). This game is weird and awesome 😀
Erik, hats off to you. This is phenomenal content...way to go!
You guys absolutely killed it on this video in every aspect. Love it! RGC Films hold a special place in my heart.
That is one of the greatest course vlogs on you tube.... The course is beautiful, the struggle is real, the commentary and the video editing is on point ..... But that 5 wood from the bunker....🤤🤤🤤🤤 great work EAL 👍🙌
Some of the other videos it felt like EAL got defeated by the course and didn't want to finish the round. This time I loved the spark and comeback even though he knew he couldn't break 90. That spirit of wanting to play golf even though you aren't happy with your score is what keeps people in the game of golf.
I need a Beau to follow me around on the course and pump me with positivity. The guy is an absolute gem
The drop you took on 10 is wayyyy more honest than what any of the guys on tour were doing for balls in the gallery this week 😂 I respect you EAL
EAL is a special guy... I’m hard core who plays for score but this man has shown me there’s more to golf... 👍🏼
Truly one of the best golf short films I have ever seen. Inspirational! Awesome words EAL!
Always finish these videos with a smile, keep it up EAL make my weeks
Eric and the RGC family, thank you so much. You guys really got me to fall in love with the game again and again and this video, like many others of yours, is just another reason why I absolutely love this game. Thank you for reminding me of that. I was only out on the course yesterday and had my best game ever and am absolutely itching to get back on the course after watching this spectacular video!
Absolutely amazing video. The drone footage. The music choices. The lighting. Just relaxing and magical!
This was a joy to watch. Thanks RGC.
Great video Erik. I feel like I experience the highs and lows on each shot along side you. The course vlogs inspire me to play more golf in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
Love your attitude and perspective on the back especially after the thrashing on the front. Thanks for demonstrating how to focus on what really matters when we're playing this great game, no matter what the scorecard says.
Erik and RGC I would just like to say thank you for everything you guys do you truly inspire me to be a better person and golfer absolutely love what you guys do!!!!
Man that edit at 19:05 was excellent. Loved that you guys put this out right before the tournament. Awesome as always 👏
