When she proves her innocence Miss Halep's accusers should not get away scott free and should pay at least as much as what this fiasco has cost her. These are worrying days in which accusations are made and the accused are guilty until proven innocent.
So now that CAS ruled in her favour and thrown out the second charge completely, I hope they go after the people who clearly mishandled her blood tests.

I think that Mouratoglou knew what he was doing. There was a lot of pressure on him because not everyone considered him a great coach, but just a lucky one to coach Serena, who seemed to beat them all without training. Simona played much weaker with him than with Darren Cahill.
Moratouglu is not a trainer, he is a a PR/ media person who masquerades as a trainer.

Who told you Serena seemed to beat them all "without training." lol Nobody beats them all "without training." Both Williams sisters were trained in tennis first by their father and mother, then received additional training and coaching by a local coach in their Compton, CA hometown before both moved to Florida before they were age 12 to receive additional training and coaching at a Tennis academy and play the USTA junior tour.

If you were not from a small country like ours and had not absolutely demolished Serena in one of the most flawless Wimbledon womens finals in 2019, this would have been resolved a long time ago. Agree with you totally there mate. Had it been a top ranked player from say, the UK or USA, than the federation would definitely gone easy on them. The fact that the world of sports is Pure is slowing fading away and is getting replaced by money and power.
I think the way the ITA has behaved is appalling and it's a tradegy that such a superstar is missing from the game. Lots of love from the UK. I will never believe this woman has taken any drugs.

There's never been an athlete (ever) that has been caught doping and came out to say he or she is guilty. They ALL say they're innocent and "didn't know" how the banned substance got into their system. Just saying...

The thing with Halep is that only the urine came back positive and not the blood tests. That would seem to support the cross contamination not necessarily doping

She did ingest the banned stuff unintentionally, so it means the doping regulator was not wrong for banning her, but the sanction was severe, maybe if it was just one tournament only since it was not a deliberate act! I also understand that they are trying to keep the sport clean! I hope the Court of Arbitration reinstates her, she would have served more than 15 months in March 2024...

I personally do not doubt Simona's version of events and as a lover of how Simona competes and plays I have been disappointed by each conclusion derived from the tests while you also want to believe the only plausible reason for such a ban be based on undisputable fact. All I can hope is that this young woman remains determined to see it through and that her love of Tennis and competing will outlast the duration of the Ban and I get to see her name on the entries list of WTA events once again and as always be rooting for her.

Without even opining on Simona, I can’t recall any athlete accused of doping to admit it. It was always given to them without their knowledge by others. It’s just about impossible to convince anybody you weren’t aware you were ingesting it. A hopeless situation, for sure.
Except with Halep, she has been top 5 since 2014 and #1 since 2017. She would have no need for drugs NOW.

The result is the fans suspect even more that you were doping while winning. I do recall her tiring in matches not long before she was accused and then not so tired. Most fans don’t want to believe that a person like Simona would cheat and I understand that. I know a devout Simona fan who is very disillusioned and has a difficult time watching tennis anymore.
They know that they will be tested frequently so why would anyone risk it? I don’t believe she knew it was in her system.

Looks like it was deemed that Simona was not aware of the substance, her sentence drastically reduced, allowing her to play again. I have no problem with the decision. I’m not into conspiracy theories at all.

How is she innocent? It does not work that way. Heard of evidence? the drug test was positive and they likely did numerous test. Her urine was positive so she is guilty. All the other stuff does not matter. Cannot say someone else made me take it, or I did not know what I was taking,. She is no different from Maria Sharapova, except Maria accepted her fate.

Idk what to think on this one. I always liked to watch Halep's matches as a player. Something just seems off here. I think if she was knowingly taking a banned substance the suspension should stay in force. If she took something that a coach recommended without knowing what was in it, then maybe the year plus is enough. But even then, all these athletes know they are going to be tested. She still bears some responsibility for not knowing what she was taking.
Maria Sharapovova a few years before Simona, did she miss that one? This is about all the endorsements Simona has that have morality clauses, she could be sued so she maintains her innocence, but the truth is the player is responsible for what she puts into her body.
