    Since the mitral valve is also known as the bicuspid valve, I remember it by saying “try before you buy” so the tricuspid comes first on the right side then bicuspid (mitral) on the left

    These videos got me through GI unit. I’m in an accelerated LPN course with a fantastic but very strict teacher. These videos always cover exactly what we learn in class and give so many helpful hints to make sense confusing concepts. I recommend these videos to all of my classmates and am going to continue to watch these for all of the med surg unit

    For the tricuspid and bicuspid valve placements, my professor said when you are looking at the patient, the tricuspid valve is on the left and the bicuspid valve is on the right, so you "try" (tri-) before you "buy" (bi-) clothes

    • @LevelUpRN
      @LevelUpRN  Рік тому

      Those are cross references to our lab values flashcards and pharmacology flashcards (with the card numbers), so you can look up more information about the labs and drugs for a particular disorder. Hope you enjoying the cards!

    Do these videos help with studying for Hesi exams instead of ATI exams?

    • @LevelUpRN
      @LevelUpRN  2 роки тому

      A lot of students have used our cards to study for HESI. The major predictor exams and the NCLEX base their questions on the same nursing information but ask questions a little differently. In addition to studying the information on the cards, we would recommend doing HESI practice questions. www.leveluprn.com

    Just out of curiosity. Is it true that people of short stature tend to have a worse cardiovascular system as they age compared to their taller counterparts?

    • @annas4119
      @annas4119 Рік тому

      Your comment had me curious so I did some research. Tall people have less risk for things like diabetes or heart disease, for every additional 2.5 inches, the risk decreases by about 6% which can be partially caused by the fact they tend to have larger hearts and lungs, however, they tend to be at higher risk for things like A-fib (females) potential for larger cells which could interrupt electrical pathways and extra pressure on the lungs, which can cause heart distention. Taller people are also at higher risk for venous thromboembolism which is obviously a main cause of heart attacks and strokes, this can be just because they have longer leg veins and surface area for things to go wrong, and the fact that they have increased gravitational pressure in their leg veins which can increase the risk of blood flow slowing down or completely stopping temporarily. Kind of more of a catch-22 genetics thing lol. Both have risks and benefits.
