Thank you so much. I am one of the few students that has no prior experience. Instead of having to swallow the whole house with a weak foundation, you've made the foundational level much more digestible. :)
I really need these videos. Despite so much effort, most of my 3rd semester class failed our respiratory exam. I MUST make a great grade on cardiology in a week or so. Study study study! Thanks for helping. RN in the spring! I can do this.
Returning to work after a year off from maternity leave, these videos saved me. Concise, clear, and exactly what I was looking for in a refresher going back to work. Thank you Cathy, your work is appreciated!
Excellent video series. However, antibiotics are no longer indicated for any joint replacement prior to dental work. Common misconception. Only indications for antibiotic prophylaxis prior to dental work include: Un-repaired congenital heart disease, prosthetic heart valve (As you mention) or history of infective endocarditis (ADA clinical practice guideline 2015).
You are right, it is no longer recommended for all individuals, just those at high risk. We will be adding a correction card to this video to provide this update! We also updated our flashcards that antibiotic prophylaxis MAY be recommended by the provide.
