I do love the attention to detail even though most people would never see it. From a story point you can see Tony's thought process; Avengers leaves Tony with the MK 7. We know he begins to tinker, but all the way up until the MK 14, he's just trying to improve his armor and overall aerial performance- makes sense after what he went through fighting the Chituari and assuming they worked more consistently than the MK 42, they might have been more efficient than the one he used in Avengers and worthy of being a main suit. It's not until we see the MK 15-stealth suit where we start to get the funky designs that get spotlighted in the Iron Legion battle. Perhaps he figured he's nailed the basics and just starts toying around with gimmick armors or upgrading different aspects. Whoever came up with this kind of stuff abouy the universe's lore and reasoning needs much more credit :).

my fav suit is mark VI/6 because the triangle and the extra weapons, its still in the movie "the avengers" at the start with the fight egainst thor, jk the suit with all those light giving weapons comming all out of his body thats why hes my fav after that one is mark VII because of the heavy attilery and 3rd the main suit of iron man 3: mark XLII/42 because it cant seperate into more pieces
I always thought the suits were powered in part by Tony's arc reactor in his chest. In Iron Man 1 the evil business partner dude stole his to power his own terrible suit. But the later movies all these suits have their own power source? And his suit in Iron Man 3 kept running out of power.
May I point out that Iron Patriot was not worn by James Rhodes in the comics, nor was it designed as an upgrade to the War Machine armour. It was made from older versions of the Iron Man suit, stolen by Norman Osborn, who then had to try to replicate the advanced Stark technology that was missing, hence the repulsors and thrusters were not as effective. He stole this when HAMMER was created, and he was planning on having a Dark Avengers team, and could not get two people to represent Iron Man and Captain America, so combined the two in the Iron Patriot suit. Tony Stark would later use the remote override still in the suit to raise the mask, and show the world that Osborn had painted his face green , and was still under the influence of his Green Goblin persona!
I like the mark 2 and Mark 6 and the suitcase but my favorite ones (not in this video that people think it will which they are stupid) are the endosym armor and the hulkbuster

28, 18, 15, 26, 24, 30, 39, and 41 are the best ones, both in abilities and looks. They have very unique capabilities and looks, yet we barely get any glimpses of them the entire movie. A little disheartening.....

jose herrera This video was made in 2014 so is up to date to Iron man 3 & covers the cinematic, not comic book universe, so Hulkbuster & Thorbuster were left out. Hulkbuster is in the updated video, but Thorbuster is still left out, because it has not been used in the new MCU movies.
