Such a masterful performance Ben! Your melodic sensibilities, timing, and virtuosic touch are a rare combination. Thank you for this gem!
It's like the song "Isn't She Lovely" becomes one of the Jazz Standards. Very Smooth....
And the "#11" chords in 2:11 up to 2:15 are so magically wonderful.
I agree, I smiled when i heard those chords. Wonderful!
horas i'd said
Last one hits the spot for sure
Fantastic! A rare pleasure! Those gentle and precise runs! They remind me of Art Tatum, but I find your runs more gentle, intricate, exquisite. Thank you!
При звуке этих блок-аккордов у меня тоже возникла ассоциация с Артом Тейтумом, но Бен Патэрсон на мой взгляд звучит вкуснее. Гораздо вкуснее. Этот парень ещё очень молод, но он далеко пойдет.
Best piano version I've heard. Precise, subtle and so smooth. And those killer voicings!... Great work Ben!
(any chance of getting (buying) the sheet music anywhere?)
You're kidding about buying music for this, right?
@@grantc4516 Of course not! :) At least the main bars, not the impro part. And I actually found it, and it was very useful for me to study the voicings (it would have taken me forever to transcribe them by ear haha)
@@HairyMatD - Interesting. Who is the publisher?
You can buy the transcription I suppose from a transcriber.
Hi Hairy Mat D,
Thank you for the link to this transcription. How did you manage to get the whole transcription? I don't understand the language and can only see page 1. Thanks for the information. Greetings, Erik. Erik.hermien@casema.nl
Wowwwwwwww lol. I was feeling pretty good about my version of this until I heard this. So good! Yikes, you've got such a delicate, sensitive, fast, touch... so excellent. And inspiring.

Great work Ben! Down a step an a half from the original key. I am going to start learning from your ideas!
Fantastic performance - very tasteful.
This is exactly why I like jazz. And I don't hear it, to my exact taste, very often.
Absolutely gorgeous rendition of that song. Sublime...both the piano voicings and the bass figures.Felt like I had stumbled upon a 100-carat diamond on a walking trail when I came across this piece!

Ben is a talented man. Great partnership too. Love this tune and thank you.
This is just absolutely killer! Swings so hard. Exquisite touch and tone and dynamics. Love it!
In a world full of faux this and virtual that, this REAL, elegant, swinging playing resets all my instruments to "aahhhhhh!" Thanks for keepin it in da pocket!!
Thanks Adam! That's my goal, play some tasty swing that feels gooooood! So glad you dig it man, best wishes.
J'ai la sensation d'entendre Dave brubeck.
I heard the dave brubeck touch.
Thank' for that.
Smooth as silk...gr.eat work by the bassist as well. Thanks for sharing
Waow, thanks, it is so "airy", lots of lovely dissonances, of love and sweet, clever respect.
That was very jazzy and uber cool. Nicely done... I bow to you brother.... Peace
Such beauty
Stevie Wonder about his newborn baby: “Isn't she lovely"?
Me about man playing:
"Isn't he lovely"?
Очень изысканно, очень красиво.
Настоящая шопеновская школа и настроение Оскара Питерсона.
Very refined, very beautiful.
The real Chopin school and the mood of Oscar Peterson.
No words to describe this. It's just too good.
Probably the closest to Oscar Peterson I've ever heard someone play
What about that bassist? He's so deep in the pocket, it's practically lint.
magia pura, tecnica eccezionale, splendido.
Makes me think of the ONE thing Miles told Herbie when Herbie auditioned of from: "Nice touch." (He got the job of course.)
Les arrangements sont vraiment excellent !
What an harmonic work guys ! Incredible to see people having those amazing scales printed in their souls. Just wow !
2:01-2:15 is awesome
Man, you’re freakin’ awesome. Beautiful performance...
Fuk I love UA-cam. This is Sensational.
I can hear Oscar Peterson in your playing, and not in a bad way, you have your own style, which is great, keep this up.
Thanks for the kind words Tom!
2:07 Stomping at the Savoy :)
Vince Guaraldi would have taken notice!!
that's a really great performance and you guys are simply amazin'. Ben, I'm a (almost) a pianist.. but you are THE pianist :) you have a new follower from now ;)
Incredible swinging version with such amazing taste.
Didn't like it. Sorry. Strayed too far off course
J'adore, merci pour cette version jazzy
Is that Johnny May? Kinda looks like him .lol
Waow, thanks, it is so "airy", lots of lovely dissonances, of love and sweet, clever respect.
Okay, so who else has noticed the key he's in? To improvise a piece like this in D-flat major is absolutely astonishing!
Yes. And also probby original key. Stevie likes to play in the black keys for better location reverence.
Cats be swingin'!
HANK JONES ON STEROIDS !!!!!!
That chromatic climb at 2:03 is my favorite part.
MerryMichaelmas its a diminished 7th movement I believe. Just using a halfstep below the bottom note for every inversion. Not sure if that’s right but it’s what gathered from watching.
I'm gonna get as good as you one day...
Molto, molto, molto bravo!
Fantastic!!!!!
Ok8
Ben, if your name is Pater-son = "son of the father", YOUR son deserves the name MASTERson. Or Geniusson. You are in your own, incomparable league. Thanks for your unique melodious playing.
I'm a new fan
That's what I needed this night..
Incredible. But FFS, why D flat...
Randy Barnes
'cause it fits well under the fingers on a piano
Perfect !
EDIT MUSIC SHEET !!!!!
Charlie Brown and the Little Red-Haired girl-she in a strapless evening gown and he in a long-tail tux-made the night club VIP guest list!! Lucy couldn’t UN-invite him this time with her two lists!! NYAAA!! Take that!!
Very Nice man!
Aah!! Dinner aboard a prestigious excursion train. Coffee (like how I make it) is served all around. Beef pot roast, rosemary chicken, or red snapper fillet, each served with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. For dessert, pecan, apple, razzleberry, pecan, or buttermilk chess pie. Does it get any better than this? Yes it does-you can have this piped into your stateroom sleeper compartment where it’s just you and your lover, enjoying the music along with dinner or whatever you both feel like doing at the moment.
1:17
2:00 -> wau!
Very nice!
Wow!
2:55
Lovely!🙂
Most jazz pianists aren't classically trained, or if they are, they have to work very, very hard to forget what has been ingrained in them.
I'm grade 10 and have been playing for... 15 years now? Yeah, I can't play jazz like this guy. Nowhere close.
Really good. Ben...If I play the drums under this version and listen to me??? Only for judge me and what do you thimk about this. Ok?
Ease and alacrity mark your style as so very special.
A W E S O M E. arrangements.
Mind boggling improvisation.
Exquisite touch.
God Bless You Ben
Give us some more.
Is there a drummer playing with brushes so softly in the background or is all just the ghost notes keeping time from this mind-blowingly spectacular bass player????? Omg this piece will change my life forever. Geesh. Too good!!
Joy
Great!
Very cool.
amazing
I quit
I don't think he was joking, which is odd. Though, in fairness, this video currently doesn't mention anywhere that the original song is written by "Stevie Wonder"
great
Premier classe
Nice
Something different about this performance from all other "Isn't she lovely?" renditions... Maybe a complete divorce from what is so rooted in our ears on this song and no hesitation to do so whatsoever?
👍😮😮😮😮
Eccezionale..tecnica, fraseggio ed empatia con il brano...!!!
Woow! Smoooooth! Keep on coming! :)
After watching this video, I want to listen your all albums.
