This is my favorite musical. I've seen it twice in NYC, once in LA and just recently in Seattle. I'm looking forward toward the movie but have no idea how it will ever come close to being as amazing as the musical.
I am from NYC but couldn't get tickets when I was back there visiting, but saw it the other night in Richmond, VA and it was AMAZING!!! I grew up going to see Broadway in NYC and this is one of the best I've seen!! The travelling cast is just as amazing as the original Broadway cast!
i am OBSESSED with Wicked!! I know all the words to every song and i saw it twice in Sydney, Australia and im planning to see it on Broadway a few times too!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!
I just saw Wicked for my first time in NYC yesterday and it was AMAZING!!!!! I absolutely loved it!! I understand the Wizard of OZ now haha I cant explain my feeling of the musical i was in awh that i was 2 rows off the stage and just 2 b there was wonderful.
Man, I love how I'm just so geeky that I already know everything being revealed and talked about here, and in a whole lot more depth too - and yet I continue to watch just because it''s another Wicked thing I haven't seen yet!
saw wicked in april. i was on a new york trip and it was amazing. i honestly want to go see it again. sadly tho, it was playing here in vancouver but i didnt know till it was too late. guess i'll have to wait a long time to go see it again.
from the moment i heard Defying Gravity i've wanted to see Wicked. but the problem is, it's a musical, on broadway, i live in Belgium. So when i heard my north neighbours from Holland are going to do a Dutch version, i was so happy! now i just have to see it!
Hey musicchick4god -- Yeah, back in the summer of 2005, before there were sit down productions in Chicago and LA, SJB was on the first National Tour. She injured her neck in Toronto, and then had some kind of problem again with it again in LA. During the SF leg of the tour -- Eden filled in for her. At least I saw her before she was injured in LA -- PHENOMENAL!!!!!
I saw this on the West End and it was amazing, but part of me can't help but be sad that I never got to see Idina and Kristin in the main roles. I really hope that should they ever make a movie, that they play the main roles, it would be perfect.
I LOVE WICKED! I've only seen it twice in London..thus far...but if i can see it again, I wouldn't even have to think about it for a second! I really hope it tours around England, I live near Liverpool, so it is a long, long way to London! BUT the Wicked movie is out next year! Oh, I hope they do it justice!
actually they didnt film the entire thing. they only filmed certain scenes and songs. i think they should film the 10 year anniversary or have a concert and release it, the same way that filmed the 25th anniversary concert of Phantom of the Opera and released it in theaters
you mean pay for an international airplane ticket, pay for a hotel room, pay for transportation and food in the US, pay for the show's ticket, then pay for ANOTHER international airplane ticket to go back to my country? Spending around 3000 dollars to see Wicked once? Already fucking did that last year, now I wanna download it for free and fucking watch it at my home, thank you very much.
OMG there in Columbus next month!! [btw thats where im from] i hope i get to go ive never seen it before and i am in love with what ive seen here on youtube!!
you are. I just fear that a movie wouldn't have the same "magic" as the musical theater. I think they should just film the show live like Rent in 2008.
@bluegreenxlt I totally agree, Idina and Kristin will always be the most magical of all who performed these two roles. They just seem to bring a special quality to the musical that no one else can match :)
Actually it has been postponed indefinitely, because they dont want it to take anything away from the broadway show's success... Rumors are that it will arrive in theatres in 2016.
@purplerae I totally agree with you about the movie version! Because to be honest, it's a bit annoying everyone is saying they will be too old for the movie - because it was ONLY seven years ago. With technology advancing like it has/is, age doesn't matter anymore -> it's the passion they bring for the characters :}
@123lolzxx123 after - definately after x) It's the tour cast that were formed for the sole purpose of touring. Idina came to London when it moved to the UK. The OBC was Kristin and Idina :}
oooh...so popular is how the song "matespritship" came along!For those of you who have no idea what Im talking about,look it up on youtube and then read the webcomic,"homestuck"
Apparently it is being made into a movie. I think it would be cool to use Idina and Kristin in Act 2 when their characters are more mature and use fresh faces in Act 1. Although they should probably step on it when it comes to production cause Joel Grey (The Wizard) is 80 and Carole Shelley (Madame Morrible) is 73. I'm not saying that either one isn't healthy, it's just if all of the original cast was to play they need to get it moving.
I could watch this musical again and again
Saw it twice in Chicago and going to see it again when it comes back this December
I came back from New Mexico with my drama class and I loved it.
I'm seeing it in my home town in November! AND THOUGH ILL NEVER SHOW IT, ILL BE SO HAPPY I COULD MELT!
This is my favorite musical. I've seen it twice in NYC, once in LA and just recently in Seattle.
I'm looking forward toward the movie but have no idea how it will ever come close to being as amazing as the musical.
4:46-5:00 is my favourite part in "For Good" such a tear jerker moment from such a beautiful scene :)
"Its Galinda with a GA" Hahahahah I luv that part!!
I watched these performers in Indianapolis and they were amazing. I promise...it is worth every penny. A truly amazing musical!

i saw it in sydney a few months ago - absolutely amazing!!!!
Yeah, that would be cool; sort of how they filmed Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and released that as a movie.
actually they didnt film the entire thing. they only filmed certain scenes and songs. i think they should film the 10 year anniversary or have a concert and release it, the same way that filmed the 25th anniversary concert of Phantom of the Opera and released it in theaters
I cannot believe Wicked will be 10 years old next year
I love wicked i love the songs and i the show like 3 times and it's coming to my town in 2014
They need to make a movie and now! With Idina and Kirstin! Or in my opinin I think Marcie and Alli would be great to.

and with good behind the scenes stuff!!!!
I saw it for my 7th birthday!
Wicked is the greatest show if you haven't seen it GO! Right now .... Just go!!!
In my opinion is the second greatest show ever. Second to Hamilton! :3
If you notice, they've filmed the whole show. They use clips of it in this behind the scenes... Maybe they'll make that the movie
Just watched it in the west end soooo good
@purplerae I totally agree with you about the movie version! Because to be honest, it's a bit annoying everyone is saying they will be too old for the movie - because it was ONLY seven years ago. With technology advancing like it has/is, age doesn't matter anymore -> it's the passion they bring for the characters :}
Ahh! I want to play Elphie so badly!
And they should do that this year being that it's WICKED's 10th Anniversary.
@123lolzxx123 after - definately after x) It's the tour cast that were formed for the sole purpose of touring. Idina came to London when it moved to the UK. The OBC was Kristin and Idina :}

yes it should've. Avenue Q was good too, but Wicked beats it all! It will probably be one of the longest runners like Phantom and Cats its so good :o)
Apparently it is being made into a movie. I think it would be cool to use Idina and Kristin in Act 2 when their characters are more mature and use fresh faces in Act 1. I love it I just like to see wicked at New York
Who is the actress playing Elphaba in this video?
@luvhelmet ohhhhhhh.....that makes sense. She's really good.
The London show is at the Apollo Victoria
@Gigglepud Because it sets the stage for when Galinda and Elphaba are going to start drifting apart.
trust that it opens like the day before halloween!
