I’m Dr. Lynn Parker. I'm a gynecologic oncologist, or female cancer surgeon. I was drawn to the specialty because there are a lot of cancers in women that are preventable or very responsive to treatment. There are not many specialists available, so I felt like this was an area of medicine where I could make a difference. We're getting more educated about GYN cancers so there is a lot we can do to prevent them and to treat them. It's very important that women with gynecologic malignancy see it gynecologic oncologist, because their chances of care are much higher if we can participate in their care. When I was young and had some family members who unfortunately had cancer, so I knew I wanted to do something in regards to cancer treatment. I was very drawn to gynecologic oncology, because it's an area of medicine where we do surgery, we do chemotherapy, but we also get to know not only the patient, but also their family. So it is a family-like atmosphere in our office.

Myself, but also the other members of my staff and it means a lot. I actually grew up in Southern Illinois about three hours from here, but have lived here in Kentucky for about 11 years. I play tennis. I'm a mom and a wife and I feel very drawn to outdoor activities.

This Dr seems really nice. I was referred to her by my Dr. The office staff called to schedule, but needed to call back “ in a moment”. Never called. I called next day and the receptionist told me she was too busy to schedule me, she is doing things for the Dr. ok.Next day, I waited till 4pm..called back Same receptionist “I have a note that says to call you, but I am too busy today! Besides, the Dr is so busy I will end up canceling you anyway.” (2 days later) How long can it take? I was told she was taking new patients,..I was nice the entire time to this person. It was so stressful, anyone trying to schedule with Oncologist shouldn’t have to experience such difficulty and weird rudeness. Now I have to try and find someone else with this Dr credentials. I’m sure she is great, too bad I didn’t get to meet her.
