I got one in Subalpine for a great price last year. I wore it through October and November her in illinois. I layered with a heavyweight T and Traverse jacket. Like you were explaining, I like having fun layering. You explained it perfectly. I watched one of your older videos before I purchased it. I agree, it's not worth full price.
If you hunt the midwest in potential cold and wind this is the most versatile system on the market. Paired with habits it can be hunted in pretty low temps.
I wear mine a lot of the season here in Oklahoma. Usually pack my incinerator in my fanatic pack but wear the stratus all day on decent days and on walk ins on cold days then switch to incinerator or wear incinerator over top of it once I get to the blind/sit Probably my favorite jacket
I picked up a Fanatic Lite a few years ago and use it for all the reasons you'd have for the Stratus. The Fanatic Lite gives the built-in hand pouch and harness pass-though of the regular Fanatic; that's my cold weather coat. Since they don't make it anymore, I'd definitely use the Stratus for cool weather hunts, layering with base layers or a hoody.
I wear my stratus set more than anything I own. I’m good with lite base layer into the lower 40s ten colder than that comes out the fanatic set with again lite base layers
I'm looking to build a new outfit in the Cover pattern and the selection is very limited. I'm not sure if they plan to release more gear in the cover pattern but from whats on offer I think i'll get this jacket. If the Fanatic hoodie is thin enough I might be able to put my Ambient hoody on for that insulation as a 2nd mid layer.
Great gear if you understand layering and its intended purpose!! We’re in far NW NC and our mornings are usually cool to cold. We pack everything in with minimal layers and slide this jacket over once at tree. Wind is always an issue, which makes this jacket the beast it is. Base layer with thin merino and an active insulation under stratus can easily get you into high 20’s and into 40s comfortably, provided you have everything else taken care of Also makes a great turkey jacket when our April mornings are in 40s I do disagree about the sizing, I’m 5-09, 165-170 and a Medium snug and a very short cut so I prefer a large. I don’t and would not pay full price!!!!
I have the stratus in subalpine pattern and wish I had it in elevated pattern. If the fanatic jacket had a hood like the stratus it would be perfect. Now I’m looking to get the incinerator jacket to go with my fanatic bibs. Hopefully I will have a complete system then.
Have you reviewed the Incinerator? Hunt Louisiana with similar humidity levels. Trying to see if it is worth it late season into February. Northerners just don’t understand our humidity issues.
I own the Stratus and Incinerator systems, and this review is spot on.
@andysettle4728 Me too. They take me through January.
Excellent review. With a little bit of layering this jacket has seen me through several windy Texas deer seasons.
The stratus system is good for our season here in Texss. Love when i get to wear my bibs

Stratus is my absolute favorite. I wear this set 90% of the time till later season

Ordered this jacket and get it tomorrow, excited.

I wear a Celsius Shacket under mine down into the teens and it works great
I used to have a Shacket, I sold it and instantly regretted it!!
I find myself wearing the stratus vest over the ambient jacket more than my stratus jacket. Good info though. Keep em coming
That’s a good setup
I like your new format.

Stratus and ambient has taken me far this season.
Yea man, Fanatic Hoody, Ambient Jacket, then Stratus Jacket. That's my Go To

I've used it once, it was awesome, a little much for me hunting in GA though.
Excellent piece of gear from spring turkeys through mid and some late season white tails. Even wore mine out west too.
Major con: NEEDS PIT ZIPS
I never wear it. I want to but can't find a reason yet. My Jetstream just seems more versatile and has a better fit. Also in north GA.
Yea, the Jetstream and Stratus do virtually the same thing.
#3 I’ve always been able to tell the difference in the harness port. Wouldn’t buy the jacket if it didn’t have it. Just me though
Don’t wear it in areas with burrs…
