      a healthy parent raises a child with a balance of Chesed and Gevurah. if a parent raises a child with compassion and truly caring for their child, their child will feel it. we are partners with Hashem. May He bless us all with healthy children.

      Unconditional love.That's highly insincere usually and improbable.It's just not the way we humans operate.And kids are not stupid,they sniff it out.

      You had the expert on for an hour and a half... The answer is it's not always a matter of prevention, some kids and adults do leave and don't return as much as conventional wisdom would like you to believe otherwise.
      This list isn't definitive but off the top of my head: 1) more love and affection without any judgement no matter the circumstances.
      2) improve secular education and make college a viable option for boys and girls so kids who aren't particularly interested in graduating as מורי הוראות should also have what to look forward to...
      3) stop denying sexual abuse exists and protect victims not abusers, and publicly bash the acts, the people who commit them
      4) destigmatize mental health early on and perhaps incorporate it into the curriculum so kids who might go on to engage in narcotics or other dark paths should be fully aware that they're not alone.
      5) maybe lessen the rigidity of religious fundamentalism and literalism and allow chasidis to go back to its roots which there's no denying that the baal shem tov had no intention of creating post war ghettos and trauma as well as extremists ideology that is so pervasive today unfortunately.
      7) allow questioning, don't silence it, start having some accountability and not be on the defense all the time, and if you think it is allowed, allow more.
      Those are some of my suggestions. -a non expert

    Y.Y. Jacobson needs to be talking bechlal in the chassidish circles. He is MASSIVE and brilliant. Time to stop the "chassidish only" and then use him when the tzoros come. We need to invite into the frum community anyone capable of helping...not worry if they will corrupt you with their differences. We are all one. We need each other. I don't think it's fair to say a blanket statement that it's the best thing to keep your child home. Every situation is different. There's no comparison between one case and another. And when it comes to shmiras shabbos kashrus there is a difference. Besides a person going thru divorce isn't related to the same issues. It's irresponsible to put all of the different types of issues and make a blanket statement. Not every parent is able to keep a child like this at home.

      Can anyone tell me why we never hear from the kids themselves why/what's causing them to leave the straight and narrow? Those kids know very well what's wrong,why don't we ask them then change what we are doing? We seem to have become great at building hospitals under bridges....

    What a bunch of nonsense. He dismisses all atheism as "being hurt". The guy is clueless

    • @LatestTalks
      @LatestTalks  2 роки тому

      Can you specify?

    • @yf1954
      @yf1954 2 роки тому +3

      People leave the community for many different reasons. Not all are bad, not all are good.
      Some are hurt in various ways by family and clergy, some come from dysfunctional families, some were abused in many ways and some simply are too smart for religious belief.
      The idea that there are no atheists is so stupidly bigoted that it has no words.
      I don't expect him to know and understand everything or be able to answer every religious paradox, but if you call yourself an expert, you should at least have the knowledge and understanding that not everything you believe is absolutely correct.
      Religion is a faith based system and not everyone believes in it.

    • @yf1954
      @yf1954 2 роки тому +5

      Also, the way he refers to children who leave the community, almost as if we're dealing with cancer patients: "נעבעך פארמישט אין די פרשה" etc....
      So your kid doesn't wanna be part of the same club as you. I understand that people don't like it and it really pains them, but come on, everyone is entitled to have they own choices in life.
