Coffee Table Model Railroad (Part 1)

This table is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION, so, disclaimer about being unfinished. There are many amazing designs for model railroads inside tables (even inside a Bar!) that can be found on UA-cam. My design is based on a piece of tempered table glass I found on the side of the road. It is 28" x 48" and I want the top of the table to be 18" above the floor. The railroad will need at least 5 to 6 inches of vertical space to handle two levels, plus the trees, buildings, lights, and other scenery. I used pocket holes to attach (2) 1"x 4" wood rails to the 2"x 2" leg posts, giving 7.5 inches of depth to the box. The platform holding the tracks is a sturdy frame of 1"x 2" sheeted with 1/4" plywood. It is slightly smaller (1/4")than the table frame it fits into, making it removable. The railroad is N Scale, even though the turns will be tight, because TT or Z scale is just too small for my fingers to successfully manage.
