- An in-depth article in the Chicago Tribune that chronicled the Bears' evaluation of quarterbacks in the 2017 draft class and their decision to select Mitchell Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson included the revelation that general manager Ryan Pace elected to not have an extensive sitdown meeting with Watson prior to the draft. That left 670 The Score host Danny Parkins in a fury, as he believes Pace's lack of research and vetting of Watson is unforgivable.

I can see overlooking Patrick mahomes but Deshaun Watson is a fireable offense.
As a Texan Fan, the draft day was fucking tense. I knew we were going for a QB once we traded with the Browns. But damn I wasn't expecting Deshaun.
My Friend is a Bears fan and in his mock draft, we were left with Deshone or Mitch.

It makes perfect sense to me because the only way you can arrive at the conclusion that Mitch would be the better QB prospect is to not vet Watson and do his due diligence. How do you rank a guy who has only threw 527 passes in college, with a 8-5 record, who was a 1 year starter, whose biggest game was the Sun Bowl, ahead of Watson and all his accomplishments
They want a white QB as the face of the franchise. I'm Asian and it is obvious to me.

This was a strange selection and other factors had to be behind this. Overlooking a QB graded among the top two prospects in the nation for the 7th ranked QB (according to scouts) in Watson's own conference is puzzling!
It's the Bears way! Blinders and earmuffs! From untouchable Ted, Pace, Nagy and Trubisky. We're gonna be in this situation next year too, Trubisky will probably play a little better and the Bears will give him a 5 year extension worth $150 million fully guaranteed. Bear down!
All bears fans should be insulted we had the chance to pick a guy that finally will overthrow Jay Cutler as the best bears QB of the last 50 years an no we don't get the guy who has been better than top nfl ready prospects we go to UNC to take a QB .

Yo you are right Ryan Pace has to be true to his evaluation Mitch only play 13 games when Walton played for years and won a national title so now the the team got to suffer this year and maybe next year too and in the meantime the defense is getting old and you said no one no Ryan Pierce was going to pick match which is true I thought they won't get to see if T from LSU Jamal now they're trying to make him look good and games so that they don't even run the ball the only scoring in 1/ quarter yeah big Hicks is missing from the meadow but the defense also stay on the field too long three-and-out five and six times in a row before you get a field goal go Bears🏈💪💯

What should really keep you guys up at night is that if you drafted him, you guys more than likely get the 1st seed in 2018 (meaning no one is beating you guys at home against that defense and Deshaun) and potentially win in Super Bowl 53 against the Patriots.
