I appreciate your discipline in recovery, and willingness to stay on track with meals and snacks. Have you considered asking a friend to join you at a cafe for coffee/and cake, or pastry that you'd normally not have at home? This might seem daunting, but it would be a challenge, to share with someone, socially. Also it may be a gentle toe-dip into trying to switch up your schedule a little..incorporating social eating into your week, - you mentioned feeling isolated. By nature, eating disorders ARE very isolating, so it's important to stay connected with people who (may) offer support in a way you might find surprising. I know it can be hard to get out, yet it I would encourage you to, bc you're going to need to incorporate people back into your network, for living without anorexia. I've noticed that you seem to stick to the same breakfasts in your videos, could you try another cereal besides shredded wheat, maybe one or two days? Favorites are hard to break, but so are anorexia's rules. In addition, I think one slice of toast/bread at lunch is restrictive. To keep up with your metabolism getting faster, adding more is going to be necessary any way. Keep going! I love how your love of food is motivating your choices, as well as motivating others.
Love these ideas and suggestions, branching out to going for brunch and cafes is something I feel so ready to do now so I will have to make some plans! Also yes I want to switch up breakfast some days and try new things (although I do just genuinely love my oats) the oats are a staple for me it’s a dense breakfast which I loveeee! I do see a dietician who also does approve of what I’m currently eating, I did have feta with the lunch on this particular day along with egg and the whole avo but I appreciate your suggestions so so much😊 it’s easy for eds to be sneaky so having suggestions and advice is super helpful so thankyou so much ❤️
@@Demiproudman I agree, seeing a dietician is resourceful, but remember, you don't need her approval to try a new cereal, other than shredded wheat(!) You seem resistant to switch up that choice, and that was what I was questioning. To be honest, breaking ed's rules has been something I've had to Really challenge, and I wish I'd gotten out of that rut a long time ago. The longer you hold on to doing the same, the more entrenched it becomes. Plus, when you start to make changes, (even ones that seem inconsequential), you'll find it helps to free up other parts of your life, too. In the big picture, what do you have to loose? Freedom from a restrictive ed is complicated. At every turn, the mind set tries to win, by keeping everything the same, bc it's afraid. Fear is the core of your struggle. Opposite action, gives You you power back. Teaching your brain that you can reject old thought patterns, and replace them with new ways of thinking is absolutely key.
Agree with all of this as well!! Such good helpful advice!! And I thought the same about the lunch… we would have had to have 2 bread and 2 eggs and the avocado and feta would be considered a fat exchange and a garnish!!!
@@Demiproudman- I really admire your willingness to accept challenges and constructive feedback from all of us🩷🩷. I find on so many ED recovery videos, when people are given suggestions or called out on ED behavior, they either get angry or give excuses or delete the comments where as you seem to genuinely except the comment and take them to Heart which I think is fantastic and is definitely what is going to help you truly recover💜💜
@@shellyjoyes1298love this!!! 100%
Hi Demi! i want to first say that i am so proud of you for pushing through with your recovery! just a few recommendations based on what i am seeing. :) 1) as others in the comments have said, it is really important that you continue to eat more. as you gain more weight, your body keeps needing more food. i would love to see you transition from one slice of bread to two, as having two or more FULL slices (not half slices) is normal and healthy! 2) your dinner portion looked very sad my dear. i think it's really important to focus on eating more carbs -- i only saw a few potatoes on the plate, And the piece of cod (for protein) wasn't that big either. a general rule of thumb is that 1/2 of your ten inch dinner plate should be carbs. keep up the great work and try to include more carbs!!
Heyyy!!! Thankyou so much for your comment and suggestions it really means a lot to me and helps me to stay motivated and focused!! Sooo so true I think it’s easy to kind of think I’ve gained so I don’t need to eat as much but that’s 10000% not true and just a way for the ed to be sneaky! Thankyou so much again I really appreciate it
Comparison is the killer of joy.😘😘
Well done on the progress you have been making lately, both physically and mentally! In terms of going out more and worrying about food, I totally understand what you mean, and I solve this by simply taking lots of snacks with me! Things like cereal bars/energy balls/tubs of nuts and dried fruit are great for this. Of course, if the opportunity arises to buy something to eat out, then that is even better, but if you aren't able to do that then you know you have a satisfactory backup!
And yeah, I know everyone's journey is personal, but I do agree that some of your portion sizes didn't look that recovery-wise. One slice of toast and one egg isn't a 'normal' portion, let alone a recovery-focused portion - and your dinner was also quite small! One thing to ask yourself is whether you would serve this meal to someone else needing to nutritionally rehabilitate? Is is an appropriate choice? Just something to bear in mind.
Keep on sharing your journey - I really enjoy watching your videos!
Hey, thankyou so much for your comment honestly the reassurance really means a lot and your suggestions are super helpful!! I love that way of thinking also each time I’m making my dinner and evening meal I will ask myself those questions, I think sometimes when you pause and think it can be really powerful! Thankyou again
Don't get down on yourself Demi, you're doing amazing!🙂
Thankyou so much, it really does mean a lot!! 🤩
@@Demiproudman No problem, you're awesome.
I don't mean to dismiss all the progress you have made with food and challenges, however it is still a very small lunch to only have 1 eggs and one slice of toast. With a bit of avocado. Think of it like this, normal non sick people have 2 eggs, 2 toasts, full avocados and they use butter when making the eggs and add butter on their toasts (THICK amounts) and will most likely have a drink on the side (NOT WATER!! again, if you are going to be drinking something, go for something WITH calories and energy. YOU NEED IT. Don't waste time on water. JUICE JUICE JUICE and FULL FAT milk and chocolate milk, etc.) So if that is what a non sick person would have, you cannot be having less than that! That would make no sense. You need more! Remember, if not DOUBLE. Same for your 'snack' of a ball. That is so tinny! Most people would have way more than that for morning snack in general. I know I am sounding harsh. It's just that recovery IS harsh. 4 balls, and a banana or some yogurt AND a drink would be more of a snack size. Just picking at the ball to try it isn't a snack. Doesn't count. I think you should make it a goal to have PROPER sized meals that are filled with FATS and grains and to work on snacks being more. I can give you snack ideas! Ones that would actually be enough and recovery ones. It is IMPORTANT to be aware of calories too. You need to be getting AT MINIMUM 3000 a day. That would mean three snacks of 500 and 900 or more for meals. Could you say that your snack was 500? For a little ball? Or that your lunch was 1000 ? There are many mays to get the food in. Ditch the 2% yogurt and have the FULL cream one. 5% or 10%. Add whipping cream into your oatmeal along with milk. Half cream half milk. Add the butter on your potatoes, don't have plain fish. Why not deep fried ones? Much yummier too! With a breading! Frozen ones. Increase the ice cream portion and ADD to it. Crumble cookies (yes more than one), add a clif bar with it, a third cup of nuts on top and chocolate sauce or nutella (yes first measure the nuts for a while and then when you get an idea of how much it looks like, you can estimate. But I feel at the moment you may under estimate it). Demi you deserve full health. It takes work to get there for sure. But if you are willing to do it it is possible. You have to ask yourself if you can though. Are you REALLY ready to do everything it takes?
I love your new hair colour beautiful soul 🩷🫶🏻🩷 Your incredible and I’m so proud of your journey! Keep winning lovely xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thankyou so much ✨✨ sending you so much love 🤍🤍🤍 xxx
Your videos are so comforting and make me feel less alone.x
Thankyou so much
Girl that lunch was just enough for a part of a snack. Hope you have had the courage to increase!! Xx
Demi you are really brave. Honestly. Recovery is very personal. You have to go at your own pace. You are doing amazing. Be proud of yourself
Thankyou so much, your comment really means a lot to me!! 😊
I can relate so much to your little chit chat in the end, because I end up being so focused on food and making sure I eat because I know how easy it is to slip back if I was to miss something but it is really hard to get back into life!! I am also at a stage wear I am trying to wear different clothes but it just feels so uncomfortable, you are not alone girlie xxx
Thankyou so much for watching, that’s sooo true !!! It’s like being in a limbo isn’t it, I’m so sooo proud of you beautiful, this stage is particularly difficult but so important to let go, thankyou so much again it really means a lot ❤ sending much love to you x
I think the perfect way to conquer a lot of things you said at the end of the video is to plan snack outings with friends or family every week: eat more, be social, challenge social anxiety, challenge eating out/food not prepared by you
Thankyou so much I really needed to hear this 🤍🤍
Yesssss! Could not agree more!! I would also suggest letting others cook/bake for you without you knowing what it’s in it etc…. Sooooo freeing!
Happy birthday hair! It complements your complexion perfectly!
Thankyou so much ❤❤
You are doing incredibly well Demi bless you as it can't be easy hun Xxx
Thankyou so much Susie sending you so much love ❤
oh Demi, so much on my mind, so much I would love to have a chat about...
for now, its heartening to know that you understand...
unless someone is also in the midst of the struggle themselves, for people on the outside looking in, they never really can / will.
Love the video! ❤ Hope you can find a way to get out of the stuck-in-the-same routine. Love the white top you are wearing, looks so lovely and summer-vibes! ☀️
End of Vid Chat- I TOTALLY understand. I’ve definitely been there ❤
Thankyou so much honestly it really helps me to feel less alone it’s so easy to get really overwhelmed. I hope you are well and I’m sending much love ❤️
Not to be nitpicking but 2 slices of bread really is the bare minimum for a meal 🙏🏼
I know it’s hard not to compare but in recovery you NEED a lot more than a ‘normal’ person to make up for being in a deficit in addition to your current energy requirements just to function ❤️🩹
Thankyou so much, I really appreciate the reassurance ❤
dani all your meals are so aesthetic. you should open your own health cafe, and your signature dish would be oats of course lol.! also your my comfort UA-camr your videos are so calming! also your so sweet, I promise people would love to spend time with you, and even seeing a friend for a shopping time, and you will be surprised how many social situations contain food. Also dont compare to others, as you have missed out on so much energy during your ed. which they haven't. and they will be healthier then you. I wish you could see what we could as I promise you still seem quite underweight, I know that it can be overwhelming and trust me Ana is the worst with convincing us otherwise so keep trying your best :)
This is a life long dreammmm of mine honestly would be amazing
@@Demiproudman why not do it!! and the aesthetic vlogs of a day in the life as a cafe worker. and im sure the decor would be so pretty!! id defo be a customer lol and im sure the ingredients would be top tier!!
You’ve got a beautiful twinkle in your eyes xxxx
Thankyou so soo much 😊 xxxx

Mmmm it’s balsamic glaze that sounds amaze !!! I’ll have to look out for the pineapple one too 🍍 Thankyou so much xxx
it’s so nice to see your progress! it makes me really happy for you 🩷 i recommend trying a pesto fried egg if you like pesto! it’s super yum. super proud of you for pushing through this. sending love xx

Adoreeeee you and omg the hair !! s t u n n i n g
Thankyou so sooooo much honestly that really means a lot ✨✨✨
I understand but you just have to fight to do it then will become easier . Plan things not involving food and pack a snack incase . Go out in between meal times xx
Thankyou so much, for sure snacks are a life saver ❤
Have you seen the bowl of porridge Jellycat? It’s adorable and it brought a big smile to my face when I saw it because it reminded me of you (in such a beautiful way because you’ve helped me reframe my association with lots of foods and it was a big moment for me to see a food related thing and not feel a negative emotion relating to it! I hope that makes sense) 😊 Sending big hugs!
Omg I’ve just googled to look at it!!!! HOW CUTE 🥹 your comment has really made me smile also I’m so glad that your able to have a more positive thoughts and feelings towards food
@@Demiproudmanthank you, Demi! You’re so sweet 💜
Do you ever eat with your family? As in, letting your parents cook for you?
Sometimes yes usually on a weekend my parents both love to cook but during the week and sometimes weekends I make my own food
You need to try to put a bakery croissant in the air fryer! Put a little bit of water on the croissant and then air fry it, it’s amazing! 😍😍
Put some fucking butter on it
@@snacktivistShe means water to prevent drying out/burning in the airfryer..
@@bearclaire lol yes exactly 😂😂
@@snacktivist when eating it, yes, but not before putting it into the air fryer lol
@@mirchen01omg yesss thank you for this idea I will try it 🙌🏼 I’m instantly craving croissants now hehehe 🥐❤️
Gak! Did you add the honey?? Avo with honey is incredible!
Yesssss it’s so nice isn’t it 😍😍
did you dye your hair brown?? looks amazing and I also just went blonde to brunette haha
I did, thankyou so much 🤩 I really fancied a change, it’s nice to have a change sometimes, we have both gone to the dark side 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️
I’m uk and unsure on oat cakes ? 😂are they like thin creeps / pancakes ? Wat you do with them xx
Scottish oat cakes or something are they called 😂xx
@@leannecraggs3165they are a savoury type of thing it’s so hard to explain them hahaha but they are used as breakfast with cheese and bacon/sausage and beans honestly they are really random and I don’t know why it’s so hard to explain what they are hahaha 😂😅xxx
@@Demiproudman I ll have to try xxx
Spider watch 😭😭😭 that’s literally me
Your lipstick from 7:20 onwards… what is it
It suits you sooooo much
Please can you come make me that egg feta avocado sourdough I’m in desperate need
Stop Cazis stall is iconic
@@lucyharvey1461hahahaha you know the drill 🕷️ wait till September comes
How do you decide whether something is a breakfast part 2 and not a new meal or snack ?
I guess a snack for me usually is like a handful of dates / cereal bar and then meal kind of like my oat bowls etc but I know it’s hard to work it out but remember not to over complicate it ❤
But dates on their own is not a snack.... No fat, protein etc. You need fats. The first thing should always be fats. So peanuts AND then you add some dates. Or avocado on toasts, (yes 2 toasts. Or a bagel with butter AND avocado. ) , cheese and crackers AND milk or juice. Cookies made with Butter AND sugar. The real deal. Ice cream (good proper sized bowl. Not too little scoops). And cookies on top. Full sized chocolate bars and milk. Brownies (real ones), cinnamon bun and butter, etc. A few dates , while tasty, isn't going to get you better. ❤@@Demiproudman
I’m from the states and do not know about oat cakes.
They are a savoury type of thing people in the area of the uk where I live in typically have them with cheese, bacon, sausage, beans etc as kind of like a breakfast hahaha they are strange and hard to explain :)))
i have never related to something more than spider watch
Hahahahaha im glad its not just me (im already terrified for spider season to start)
The way you pronounce "cacao" is unique, 😂
Hahahahaha, I think I have a few words which I pronounce abit differently 😅😂😅
