    First, gentlemen, from a New Englander--no salt--it's not needed. Salt is bad for the environment, your dog's feet and you don't want to track it into the house. Just shovel. If the storm brings a lot of snow, shovel in stages, before it gets too deep. If it is going to be followed by freezing rain, wait till the storm is done. Second, I am a hand therapist of 25 years, in my experience, mini tight rope CMC does very well in the early weeks post-op: little to no pain and great ROM. However, pain increases around the 6-week mark and patients struggle; where LRTI has pain in the beginning with improves with time. I have seen mini tight ropes used as revisions and those patients do quite well; perhaps best used for that purpose. BTW I never let my patients call their SF a "pinkie"! 😆
