This is a song about moving on from a one-sided relationship.
The lyrics aren't about any particular instance in my life. ジェリコasked me to write a break-up song for an album they were working on at the time and the theme was "toxic relationships". I can't say break up songs are something I can relate to all that well, at least when it comes to most modern break-up songs where the two parties just end up hating each other for dumb reasons :P So I basically winged it. I included some of my own thoughts and experiences with romance and break-ups, but it's not at all a song about myself. Originally ジェリコ was gonna sing it, but the duty was passed on to me after the album they were working on shifted gears.
The aforementioned break-up I HAVE been through actually went quite well, or as well as a break-up can go anyway (she and I remain good friends to this day), so I wanted to focus more on the happy memories of a relationship rather than the possible sourness that can come with loosing it.

This is one of the few songs I've done where I wrote and sung all the lyrics first, and then the instrumental was created around it afterwards (the other being Luna's Swing). One of my favorite songs is Sunburn by Owl City, which is also a break-up song that focuses more on the good than the bad, so I really wanted to do something in the same vein because that's exactly how I feel about the one breakup I've been through in my life >u<

What a great song. With such a mature view on relationships and knowing that not all of them work out. You've made such a wonderful song Fritzy, as always it seems.
"Who knew we could be so close yet be so far apart?" that hits heavily, you've got a way with words that I envy Fritzy.
There's a nice contrast between the tone and music, versus the meaning and weight behind the words. Such a happy chiptune-ish sound and that joyful, youthful, bittersweet, heartwarming voice you've got. All meshing together logically, there's hurt in this song but no resentment. It's an understanding of the need to take care of yourself and your feelings, even though you believe they're revolving around the love of someone else.
Man your music is wonderful. Making me feel nostalgic for things I haven't even experienced. I appreciate that you choose to share it with us.

I'm actually genuinely curious >u< Was it a style thing or just the topics of the songs or something?
@@FritzyBeat I guess its really the style. The older stuff was just...different. Unique. Deep. Within was a lot of variation like a watercolor sunset and the new stuff feels a little more basic. They felt like Fritzy. The new things are just really up light-hearted (different from uplifting) and (I hate to put it this way) weeb-like. A little more like a voice within a group instead of a voice clearly distinguished from the outside.
Like its not that the new stuff is bad or anything - and im sure there's an audience out there for it who would love it, but its just a lot of *eh* for me and it doesnt feel like Fritzy to me anymore.
I've definitely been playing with different sorts of music lately, but then again, I've ALWAYS been playing with all sorts of styles. Remember that one time I tried punk rock? lol XP Four of the last five original songs I've posted have been more light-hearted in tone for sure (the other 4 in-between were covers) but I thought "Wherever You Are" from 3-ish months ago was more in line with some of my older stuff. Either way, I'm gonna continue to keep trying all sorts of styles of music like I always have. I never wanna be tied down to just one, but I AM working on more of the older sort of stuff you might find interesting I think, it's just not what's been getting finished recently. =P I do try to be aware of what I'm good at though, and won't abandon musical styles people enjoy from me for stuff I might not be as good at XP I like to try to keep a nice balance between what I want to do and what people like to hear from me.
Not sure what to say about it sounding "weeb-like" though XD What would that even sound like? *shot* I do dig a decent amount of Japanese music and that sometimes comes through in what I write, I think. I've been learning Japanese for over a year and a half now, so I started watching JP television and looking up JP music to help immerse myself in it and better understand the language. idk, maybe it's something subconscious.
