    Great tutorial, obviously! One thing: allthough it's not a modeling tutorial as you pointed out, I wondered how you modeled the chair and couch, since these are a bit more organic. How you model the table and walls is very helpful. I get stuck on those kinds of elements (like a rotated wheel with profiles) because i need to get out of the projection camera, model something, but then aligning it back to the projection camera angle, the shape doesn't fit. Hope you understand what I mean.

    • @DIGITALMEAT

    Hi, fantastic tutorial. As alway!!! BUT... I have a problem with the projection and the background Object / Tag. If I swap the channels in the projection and background materials from luminance to color and vice versa (for shadow catching purpose) I now see my build geometry shining through again.
    As I am rebuilding that on C4DR19 and using the German Version, I don't have exactly the option to "copy/paste channel" just "copy/paste shader" I don't know, if that matters, but at this point I can't get the results you get. Any proposals how I can solve that problem? I am obviously not a pro :-)

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  6 років тому

      you also need to add a compositing tag to your objects or the null your objects are in and tick the composite with background check box, let me know if that does the job.

      I think I just solved it! I just set the compostiing tag on the room objects to be able to be seen by the camera. seems to work now. However render times are 10x longer

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  7 років тому +1

      The compositing tag should have seen by camera checked, and also compositewith background checked

      Great!
      another question, what if there are people involved in the picture (not video), do i model the people?

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  8 років тому

      +Cxeri93 - people tend to move so you don't want to track them because when you come to solve your camera it won't be correct, luckily in cinema 4D you can create an animated mask so anything within it won't get tracked. After that, if you want your 3d object to go behind them in the footage that would be done with masking or rotoscoping in after effects.

      +Cxeri93 - I've been asked several times by numerous people to add them on skype and i've decided i'm not going to that, i have a full time job as well as running a website and making tutorials, i just haven't got the time to mentor people on a one to one basis, sorry :(

      Yes, If the camera is stationary. If the camera is moving you need to do motion tracking. ua-cam.com/video/6ZWLIFmmGPA/v-deo.html

    Read the transcript of this tutorial. You are all over the place. Every decision you make, you immediately undo and approach the problem from another angle. You had no script, no notes, no structure. This is not a video on how to do projection mapping as much as it is watching someone with a commitment problem and a lack of prior proper planning fumble his way through projection mapping on camera for youTube. You have a great voice, but you really need a complete plan before you start a tutorial. It's really confusing when you do and undo everything.

      You are correct, if you look at the date under the video, you'll see it was created and uploaded 6 years ago. This is when I first started recording, and speaking publicly on video, content creation was new to me. Compared to my newer videos the difference is night and day.
      I may decide to re-record this content at some point, who knows.
