  • This is from the south-east of Norway and the pit is related to the lake you see in the background.
The marshes is growing together, forming new 'land' to walk on.
The water still flow below. That's how the trout got there.
I used a Guideline TriCast 8'6" 3wt rod. The fly I used was made 3 days before, during some problems finding out what the trouts were eating so aggressively during hot summer days.
The code was cracked and the fly worked, aggressively.
A special thanks to those of You with the thumbs up for this! Appreciate it!
Kill and eat fish if the fish stocks is strong and you are allowed to kill for the reason of a healthy and tasty meal!!

I have seen a lot of angry comments about how you should kill fish and I don’t get why people are angry at him. Take me for contrast.
I come from a fishing village and no one kills a fish after it has been fished. The reason is because it would be too much work since all fish either is eaten or used as lobster bait in the fall.
The fish usually sit in a bucket until they die, it’s not what you wanted to hear but it’s the truth. If you fish in lakes it might make more sense to kill your fish.

    • @SpiralPowerGaming
      @SpiralPowerGaming Рік тому +1

I live in the western US. Most people here keep fish on a stringer and either dispatch them as they leave or let them suffocate.
Personally, I think bashing them over the head is ineffective and more often than not stuns them, rather than giving a swift painless kill.
What I do is keep them on the stringer and about 10min or so before I leave, I take my very sharp knife and gill them. They bleed out in the water and go unconscious very very quickly as the gills are right up next to the heart.
Makes the fish taste better in my opinion since they don’t panic, and a lot of the blood gets removed.
Then they get chilled in the cooler.
Basically the same as you, but I just gill them at the water. Rather than the truck.
I think they are more comfortable that way, and it doesn’t get fish blood everywhere.

I do not support killing the fish, but in this case, I don't think it's bad considering taking the fish.. it's a well sized fat trout, over the age of reproducing, and in a region (Sweden) with a considerable amount of fish. I wouldn't say the same in France for example, where the vast majority of rivers are endangered because of drought and pollution, and where the population of wild trouts is shrinking at an incredibly fast rate... It always depends. But fishing has nothing do do with killing the fish.

***** says: "no, it's just funny how he just destroys the fish and then holds it and admires its once beautiful, dead body. I fish, and I practice catch and release. I eat fish all the time...I'm just saying, THIS VIDEO IS FKN FUNNY!!!!!"
I took that comment as you "practice catch and release" but eat the fillet of fish at McDonalds and would never stoop so low as to keep a fish you caught. Maybe we should dispense with the sarcasm. I assume this video is a guy videoing his fishing, not a guy making a video for you-tube. On my videos I am hunting first and videoing second, probably the same with this guy.
I try to dispatch less than dead birds off the camera, and maybe I would have edited out the part where the guy kills the trout but at the same time, maybe the he wanted people to take the video as a lesson on dispatching trout. Anyways this video is extremely ethical and very well done as well as enjoyable to watch.
People who watch You-Tube videos and misunderstand them often do so based on the emotional comments and sarcasm. We all do a better job of keeping it real like this video does. Just a man documenting an exciting day of fishing and storing the video on youtube so he and his family and friends can remember the days when they were young enough to traipse through the rivers, streams and marshes catching wild trout.

I don't think it's a puddle. He's walking on something like a tight knit weave of roots and plants that covers the water, and holds form due to a mix of tension and buoyancy. Underneath is a uniform body of water, so that hole he caught the fish from is actually part of the nearby lake 'peeking through' the marsh.

Nice fish bro. Big fish, small pond. I hope it was tasty. Captive audience, free rising for #26 midges all day. You throw it a #12 Klink and you’re in. Nicely done. God what a cast in those conditions. Nice clean dispatch. Textbook.

When I dispatch fish, I whack them over the head like that with the back of my fillet knife, then pierce their heart from the underside just behind the gills to bleed them out before putting them on ice in my cooler to take home. I've been guilty of dispatching them like Golum in LOTR- just smacking them on a rock, haha. That works, but the back of a knife blade is much more humane, lol.

He is a very experienced fly fisherman going by his cast in the beginning of the video into the water. He made it look so easy. Casting a line with a fly rod is very difficult

    • @bradfarrahgerwing154

After 3 years of practice at 15 I could shoot an entire flyline out.....30 plus yards
It's not that hard just some practice and coordination

@@bradfarrahgerwing154 yep. I found it quite easy to learn. The day I got my first fly rod at age 8 i tied on one of those size 10 eagle claw snap swivels and casted in my front yard, got the hang of it in around 10-20 casts. Im not too accurate and havent really had a chance to go fly fishing recently but i was camping on a small stocked pond with a beach side, and every morning at 6 i would wake up and sneak out of the camper and destroy the bluegill on the beach side. The larger ones were very fun to fight.

Where do some people think the fish and meat comes from? It don't grow on bushes, it's living breathing animals which you kill and eat. He did exactly that and in an accepted manner.

Thank you for this video, here in sweden where it looks very much a like at that spot in the forest, thought it was sweden first but you said norway. Anyway, we have in some spots here where i live in the upper mid region of sweden, spots of underground tunnels and streams. We have one that is flushing straight through our town, its not more than 2 meters wide, not many people knows of this, and its flooded with this fish!

+nolan galliot when land grows over water I believe it's called a fen. Marshes are different. And most fens are actually brittle and you could go under and get stuck in the roots. That on seems very sturdy if it's even a fen.
