- This is MERCEDES BENZ E350 DOME LIGHT OVERHEAD SUNROOF SWITCH REMOVAL AND MANUAL CLOSING OF THE SUNROOF. YOU CAN CLOSE ANY ONE OR BOTH SUNROOF SHADES. You will need 5/32 Balldriver T-Handle or something similar and a Credit Card to do the fix. IF YOU HAVE A 5/32 Bit with driver you can use it but it's hard to spin because it's really tight. i used a pliers with 5/32 driver to spin and finally close the sunroof. i took it to a body shop to close the sunroof manually but he said you can't close it manually. He was wrong i just did it, Long Live UA-cam...

I have a GLK350, the outside cover is exactly the same. but did not have a allen wrench to turn the lower fabric sun shade. Just unplugged the motor connector and started working again. This video is very helpful and saved me a lot time from not scratching and damaging the car.

Thank you it works save me money on my E350, The sunscreen won't close at all and tilt moon window closes only by clicking the close button 10 times. and the reset trick didn't work on Panorama roof.

Hi great video. What is the actual problem and what part was required to fix this?
I have damaged this hexagonal bolt while trying to close the sunroof manually as you do... Can I replace this bolt by myself? Is it removabale?
Thank you this truly works just bought the C204 and sunroof jammed within 4 days of purchase garage useless this saved my car thanks, would however like to know does this resolve or do you need to change the motors ?
it depends , some starts working and on some motor is bad. just try it if not just close it manually.

A seasoned Mercedes Technician told me to STOP using my Sunroof...it will eventually FAIL!
Thanks a lot man !!! I was able to close my roof. But it was very very hard to turn the AllenKey like you did. So I had to go out of the car en pull the roof with a hard yank ,. First on the passenger side and than on the driver side (left) . And than I could millimeter at a time close the roof !

So that works but was was the fix for the sunroof? Button or motor? Mine will open but won’t close. I hear nothing while trying to close so I’m assuming it’s the switch.

Mine actually kept spinning but never closed 😔, might be because i tried to close it by pushing it prior to that?

Did you end up figure yours out? Mine is doing the same. Keep spinning it but nothing happens.
@coolichka42 yes, actually the gear that opens and closes the sunroof was broken, I bet yours is broken too...
So I ended up replacing the whole module, which is a fairly easy job

The issue I’m having with a 2012 c300 is that is that it opens but when I pull the button to close it, it keeps tilting the sunroof up instead of closing it. Anyone having the same issue?

You can simply close it with the key

Sunroof is stuck try oiling on the tracks with WD-40 . If it still doesn’t work than follow these instructions. It worked for me. Good luck,
