Man every time I hear Twinleaf Town I honestly tear up. Something I love about this community is that no matter where your Pokemon hometown is, we all feel this nostalgia whenever we hear its theme
Yeah, and I only played through Platinum once, and it was back in 2015. I never thought of it then, but the theme is so nostalgic, even for a somewhat outsider to Sinnoh like me.
I mean what's a better way to get closer with pokemon than living in an area where your chances of getting attacked by a wild pokemon just by exiting your house is very high
nuvema town, despite not being my first town, will always be the saddest imo. especially in bw2, when the hilbert/hilda disappeared and 2 years later, his/her mom doesn’t even know if they’re alive anymore.
They're alive, there's unused dialog on bw2 for hibert/hilda in pwt, a proof that the developer intended to add them on the original plan, but somehow it's scrapped.
What I absolutely LOVE about each hometown theme is that you spend so little time in the game listening to this music, but they're ALL some of the best songs from their respective games. After your LONG, TIRESOME journey, you come back to your hometown and listen to the same song you heard all those hours ago. I always feel emotional. It's so poetic. I love, love LOVE it.
I’ll never forget playing Crystal, in my room back in 2000. And having the sunset in the game while the sunset in my room just relaxing and fishing 🎣 next to home in New Bark
Aaaaaaa these are all so nostalgic, as someone who has beat every game. The start of a new adventure is one of the best feelings. And these themes perfectly convey that feeling.
Aspertia got me so nostalgic. I remember first playing it 5 years ago in..2016? When I got it at a second hand shop, and when I played it on my sisters second hand DSI. The photo of her face from 5 years ago already is still on there every time I open it up.

The feeling of listening these calm music in you hometown after a good and epic adventure with many battles and intense music is always good It hits me with a mix of nostalgia, happiness and sadness when I listen to the themes of New Bark from GSC, Twinleaf and Aspertia Sometimes, I only smile listen to these music
Original New Bark Town made me so warm inside. Gold was the game I really grew up with. I was only about 4 years old when RBY came out in North America (I was born in 1994). GSC has a special place in my heart.
Same, born in 1993 though. Even though I had Pokémon blue, Pokémon Gold was really the game I grew up with since I was a little bit older and could understand things better compared to being 4-5 years old
Man the lack of respect for the original pallet town is really hitting home just how old I am. The remade themes are probably better pieces of music but it just doesn't invoke the same memories. I'm glad we all got to have this great game in our childhoods and that they kept it going long enough for all of us to have that experience. From a bug catchers dream to international phenomenon I'm glad we're all still here.
That’s because they had such an obsession with the Kanto region that it was heavily featured in all of the first four generations of games. It wasn’t even a full decade before they returned to it again though 😂
I played gen 2 the most as a kid, so New Bark Town theme sounds the most nostalgic. Feels good, like a new beginning or a home sweet home type vibe, which is what they go for in these home town themes

I've been playing Pokémon since I can think. My brother got Pokémon Blue when I was about 4 years old and I got to play a lot as well. And then Pokémon Gold which, back in the day, we never managed to complete, as in completing the Main story. I don't think we even managed to make it past the first time agains the Elite 4. The level-jump is just so stupid and I suppose neither of us could be bothered to grind those levels. My first own Pokémon game was Ruby, and I played it a whole lot. So it holds a lot of nostalgia. I basically played all of the games up until the current Generation 9. But the one that has the most special place in my heart is Generation 5. I first played it at a time, when I wasn't too deep into Pokémon and even long after it's release. And it certainly reignited the flame of passion I have for this franchise. In 2022 I bought a copy of Pokémon White (which was the last remaining Gen 5 game I was missing) and I decided... This is going to be the first time in my life, that I'll complete the Pokédex! I wanted it to be Gen 5 and I wanted to do it as Hilda (since she's my favorite playable character). I did a proper playthrough, exploring as much as I can, finding places I might not even know about yet, catching and training each and every Pokémon along the way, focusing on the story and talking to all characters, and getting the most possible enjoyment out of the game. And I can tell you with full honesty: it was the best experience I ever had playing a Pokémon game. After finishing the game, I worked on completing the Pokédex. I had all the means necessary to make it possible at hand, but I had to put in the effort. It took me a good few weeks, but eventually, I did it. Every starter, every Pika-clone, every pseudo-, sub- and regular legendary and even all of the mythicals. All that for a single textbox saying something along the lines of "You did great! I'm so grateful I get to know you!" But that doesn't matter. It doesn't matter, because after all that... I went back to Nuvema Town, went into the house, up the stairs and in the room where it all began... And after listening to the theme for a bit, reflecting on this amazing journey... I saved the game and turned off my Nintendo. And it was and will forever be, my best experience of playing a Pokémon game.
These are my favorites (in Order) 1.) Littleroot Town (Both originals and remake version) - Bruh, the original version of littleroot was a beautiful masterpiece, but damn. the remake version make me feel more nostalgic and they made it better! i cried. 😭 Littleroot is my first hometown (since Emerald was my first finished game) and definitely my most favorite hometown of all time. I love everything about Hoenn. 2.) Aspertia City - Just a beautiful theme, I just stayed on my White 2 gameplay here in Aspertia City for about 10-15 minutes just to listen on this theme. 3.) Pallet Town (Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee Version) - Out of the 5 Pallet town theme, the Let's Go version for me has the best composed and arrange version, very nostalgic you know. What a beautiful theme it is. 4.) Twinleaf Town - I just also love the theme. I love how it is composed and arranged. And I prefer the night version though the day and night just look the same but i prefer the night theme. 5.) New Bark Town (HeartGold/SoulSilver Version) - I prefer the HG/SS theme than the original. I love how this theme rearrange. 6.) Vaniville Town - I just love how this theme composed. This hometown theme gives me the vibes of hope and happiness, idk. it just so beautiful.
I’d put little root, Vanaville then New bark. Littleroot because it was my first and I just grew attached to it. I’ve barely listened to the Vaniville town theme but whenever I do, I feel like I’ve heard it a million times. It’s just a theme that sounds like childhood and home. New bark’s just good, goodly good.
The first 4 generations were the best, I grew out of pokemon after that. Played a lot of those 4, would get my hands on every version and trade with myself on my friends Gameboy and then the original DS. I have all the little chiptunes music burned into my brain from the games.
Man nothing will make the 1998-99 memories flood back into me like hearing the Gen 1 Pallet town theme. I've only played up to Gen 6. I love all their themes Gen 5 will always be special to me since I picked it up when I was in the hospital in 2012 from a horrible injury. I was on a lot of morphine so it's all I could really do until I healed. Pokémon Black and White + Morphine=Fun
As someone who has played them all all the way to current gens and will play gen 9... pallet town just hits a spot. Like there's no real way to describe it other than it just being my home.
@@Ephra_wangai in my opinion the difference between pallet town and the rest of the starting locations is that in pallet town the adventure begins for the first time ever. the concept was new, every kid and even adults at that time played it and it wasnt like" ah a new pokemon game with a new region and new pokemons to explore", but it was mine and many others first pokemon game ever. i think that is what hits (me at least) in a different way. but the other themes are magic aswell.
Pallet Town: Time to go to school. New Bark Town: You are back home after school. Littleroot Town: Years later, you read a diary that you forgot keeping for a while. Twinleaf Town: Back home after a long day. Nuvema Town: Now you are building a bike for your kid.
First was Silver. I haven't heard New Bark Town in such a long while, and despite how great Littleroot Town is, the one that gets me the most is gen 2. Feraligatr was my #1 fav and so is that game in the whole series.
I honestly understand that. The music is still something that excels in the franchise, even now. And it’s great even if a few months pass just to listen at gen 8 music.
I love how these songs make me feel young and old at the same time, really nostalgic. They made my childhood great. Really made me shed a tear or two as the memories of innocence and joy flooded my mind. Being in college away from home makes these songs hit harder now that I live alone

Maybe it's the fact that Emerald and Platinum were the games that made me love Pokemon but for me Littleroot Town(Both Versions) and Twinleaf Town are my favorites, Twinleaf Town especally makes me tear up.

Twinleaf Town was my first town. Best themes with Route 201, Jubilife City, Cynthia‘s Theme and these Lakes. But I also love Pallet Town and Littleroot Town.
I love Cynthia's encounter theme with the mighty piano, but her battle theme sounds like an unimpressive ghost-type elite four theme. She's a historian, just alter her encounter theme, not some dubstep Ghostly theme.

It took me a good few weeks, but eventually, I did it. Every starter, every Pika-clone, every pseudo-, sub- and regular legendary and even all of the mythicals.
All that for a single textbox saying something along the lines of "You did great! I'm so grateful I get to know you!"
But that doesn't matter. It doesn't matter, because after all that... I went back to Nuvema Town, went into the house, up the stairs and in the room where it all began... And after listening to the theme for a bit, reflecting on this amazing journey... I saved the game and turned off my Nintendo.
And it was and will forever be, my best experience of playing a Pokémon game.
BW2 is the game that came out at the time of my life I was at my lowest.. Aspertia city always gives me memories of that time..

Littleroot Town is the most iconic in my opinion just because i played pokemon Sapphire more than any other game but Pallet Town is a close second.
These are my favorites (in Order)
1.) Littleroot Town (Both originals and remake version)
- Bruh, the original version of littleroot was a beautiful masterpiece, but damn. the remake version make me feel more nostalgic and they made it better! i cried. 😭 Littleroot is my first hometown (since Emerald was my first finished game) and definitely my most favorite hometown of all time. I love everything about Hoenn.
2.) Aspertia City
- Just a beautiful theme, I just stayed on my White 2 gameplay here in Aspertia City for about 10-15 minutes just to listen on this theme.
3.) Pallet Town (Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee Version)
- Out of the 5 Pallet town theme, the Let's Go version for me has the best composed and arrange version, very nostalgic you know. What a beautiful theme it is.
4.) Twinleaf Town
- I just also love the theme. I love how it is composed and arranged. And I prefer the night version though the day and night just look the same but i prefer the night theme.
5.) New Bark Town (HeartGold/SoulSilver Version)
- I prefer the HG/SS theme than the original. I love how this theme rearrange.
6.) Vaniville Town
- I just love how this theme composed. This hometown theme gives me the vibes of hope and happiness, idk. it just so beautiful.
I'd put Pallet and Twinleaf over Aspertia

I’d put little root, Vanaville then New bark. Littleroot because it was my first and I just grew attached to it.
I’ve barely listened to the Vaniville town theme but whenever I do, I feel like I’ve heard it a million times. It’s just a theme that sounds like childhood and home.

The first 4 generations were the best, I grew out of pokemon after that. Played a lot of those 4, would get my hands on every version and trade with myself on my friends Gameboy and then the original DS. I have all the little chiptunes music burned into my brain from the games.
Fire Red was my first game, but Littleroot still fills me with 10 times more nostalgia. The ost is just that good
Man nothing will make the 1998-99 memories flood back into me like hearing the Gen 1 Pallet town theme. I've only played up to Gen 6. I love all their themes Gen 5 will always be special to me since I picked it up when I was in the hospital in 2012 from a horrible injury. I was on a lot of morphine so it's all I could really do until I healed. Pokémon Black and White + Morphine=Fun
As someone who has played them all all the way to current gens and will play gen 9... pallet town just hits a spot. Like there's no real way to describe it other than it just being my home.
@@Ephra_wangai in my opinion the difference between pallet town and the rest of the starting locations is that in pallet town the adventure begins for the first time ever. the concept was new, every kid and even adults at that time played it and it wasnt like" ah a new pokemon game with a new region and new pokemons to explore", but it was mine and many others first pokemon game ever. i think that is what hits (me at least) in a different way. but the other themes are magic aswell.
Pallet Town: Time to go to school.
New Bark Town: You are back home after school.
Littleroot Town: Years later, you read a diary that you forgot keeping for a while.
Twinleaf Town: Back home after a long day.
Nuvema Town: Now you are building a bike for your kid.

First was Silver. I haven't heard New Bark Town in such a long while, and despite how great Littleroot Town is, the one that gets me the most is gen 2. Feraligatr was my #1 fav and so is that game in the whole series.

I love how these songs make me feel young and old at the same time, really nostalgic. They made my childhood great. Really made me shed a tear or two as the memories of innocence and joy flooded my mind. Being in college away from home makes these songs hit harder now that I live alone

You don't live in the same town as Rowan in Gen 4. He lives in Sangem while the main character is in Twinleaf
Maybe it's the fact that Emerald and Platinum were the games that made me love Pokemon but for me Littleroot Town(Both Versions) and Twinleaf Town are my favorites, Twinleaf Town especally makes me tear up.

Twinleaf Town was my first town. Best themes with Route 201, Jubilife City, Cynthia‘s Theme and these Lakes.
But I also love Pallet Town and Littleroot Town.
I love Cynthia's encounter theme with the mighty piano, but her battle theme sounds like an unimpressive ghost-type elite four theme. She's a historian, just alter her encounter theme, not some dubstep Ghostly theme.
