I agree with ya! Being a politician was never meant to be a way to get rich like billionaire rich. It has become that way because of lobbyists and cheating and lying and all kinds of bad shit has happened to make the politicians rich as fuck. They shouldn't need more and if they try to use the cost of living increase as justification, then THEY should do something about lowering the costs of living. The crooked politicians are the reason the cost of living has went up because the Bilderbergs own ALL of the corporations and every president and presidential candidate except Trump have ALL been members at LEAST as far back as Reagan. So that's why president's usually act in the interest of corporations over us common blue collar folk. That's also why presidents are billionaires. They have a super rich so called "elite" co-op called the Bilderbergs group. Who do people think owns Black Rock? The Bilderbergs own Black Rock, that's who. They own literally almost everything! Black Rock is the corporate head of all their corporations because having them coalesce into a conglomerate helps all these super rich fuckers make even MORE money. As someone who lived in Northern Virginia and Maryland for almost 25 years, the salary for the members of Congress is quite low for the region. Granted they have homes in their home states but they also spend much of their time in DC. I don’t mind them getting a pay raise that is commensurate with the area, and the responsibility they have. However, they must be responding to the people and not special interests groups and just the big donors. I am also open to them being compensated based on how well they do, merit based.
Way to much. We have a government pay system based on time served. If 35k is good enough for a starting mail man, than it should be good enough for a rep in congress that doesn't do shit 6 months a year.

Letting people read things for you and accepting what they say is like writing a paper and getting your facts from Wikipedia. We all know how that turns out. Yes 1500 pages is a lot and is probably being done with the hopes of us not reading it BUT it is dangerous for any of us to let someone say I read it so you don't have to. Just my 2 cents!

It takes the average person 1.7 minutes to read a page. A 1500 document would take between 42-43 hours to read. None of the average citizenry has the time to devote an entire work week to reading just one Congressional document. Accountability is key. Maybe as AI is able to proof and Cliff Notes these documents things will become more transparent. But, you need to ask the question who is programming the AI??
We’re the people who have been training AI for last decade . Tests for “security, are you a human “. How many bridges in the photo ect , Tap on the word prediction list while texting so AI learns and so on
2:48 that's truly regarded, Tom. Social media can be used to set the agenda about what people 'care' about and what their opinion on it. Case in point: a lot of people suddenly cared a lot about women's swimming and boxing because Republicans set the agenda to care about this. This is unelected billionaires directly setting the agenda on their own terms for the democratically elected representatives. Truly grotesque.
Meh, folks didn't care when Soros was doing the same thing with the Dems. It's all political bias. I'll believe it's "grotesque" when the majority can actually pull their heads out of their collective asses and speak out against their own parties.
I thought i was going crazy for a moment when not a signle other person mentioned how insane it is to have THE richest person on earth essentially starting his own department in the government UNELECTED!!!!
@@DrewDynamite04 It is not shady, you have no idea what was in there. From what I read there was a lot of nuance to make some health care funding more efficient. Just because something is shorter does not make it better.
@DrewDynamite04 There's nothing 'shady' about bills being long - they have to be long to be precise, cover all bases, remove loopholes, i.e. do what it intends to do and nothing else. Especially in the US, where laws are mostly interpreted based on the letter and not the 'spirit', they need to be very precise not to have negative downstream effects, and English (or any other spoken language) simply isn't effective at that. A shorter (good-faith) summary might need to accompany it as well, so non-lawyers can understand what's in the bill, and it might have been introduced a bit too late.., but it being long isn't a bad thing on it's own.
I agree with you, tom stop writing these long bills that address multiple things. It makes it impossible for the average person to decipher, and it hides things that convolute the bill it only serves to create distrust and division and paralyzes our process.
Your show is outstanding! I look forward to each and every episode. The episodes with Drew are dire and necessary with the most popular and powerful topics for the week. I would however enjoy a longer episode with more speaking from Drew. I did understand the dynamic but I find it even more interesting to hear from two wise men. Drew appears sincerely happy. Why should anybody in the Fed government get a raise ? When they can prove to us Americans that they can balance the budget each year, then they might deserve a raise. Actually when I think about it, we should be cutting their salaries since they cannot balance the budget.
First raise in 16 years. The raise is about 3.4%. From 174,000 to 180,160 or so. Stop the fake outrage. And stop pretending you care about a balanced budget. Just stop
@@kyleleblancvlogs3820 It's not 3.4%. That's just flat-out incorrect. Stop lying and pretending to care about politics if you can't get your facts right.
"A continuing resolution put forward by Republicans leading the House Appropriations Committee does attempt to allow an automatic congressional pay increase - which has drawn blowback from some members of Congress - but the maximum possible raise in 2025 would be 3.8%, not 40%." Hi Tom, I admire your dedication to tackling complex societal issues and using your platform to amplify meaningful causes. I’m reaching out to share a critical and often overlooked issue-the plight of stray dogs in Turkey. Turkey has long been recognized for its compassion toward animals, but recently, the situation for stray dogs has taken a tragic turn. Local governments are under pressure to reduce stray dog populations, and in many cases, this has led to inhumane practices like culling. The public is divided, and protests have erupted, but without international attention, sustainable and ethical solutions seem out of reach. This isn’t just about Turkey; it’s a global question of how we treat the most vulnerable beings in our societies. Humane solutions-such as spay-neuter programs, education campaigns, and government accountability-can set a precedent for other nations struggling with similar issues. With your influence and deep understanding of ethics and social responsibility, your voice could shine a light on this crisis and encourage the right conversations on a global scale. Would you be willing to help raise awareness about this issue? It could make an incredible difference for millions of lives-both animal and human. Thank you for considering this.
Because they purposefully try to shove in extra bits into the bill (pay increase to congress + healthcare benefits in this case) whilst simultaneously giving a tight deadline for approval. They do this every year.
It's because of the debt ceiling. They have to raise it all the time so they can borrow to pay the bills. If the debt ceiling doesn't get raised then everything shuts down because there's no money to pay for anything. So they bury all this other shit in these debt ceiling bills and then they say well if u don't pass this then the gov shuts down so you're kind of held hostage to pass all this other hidden stuff that the average Joe never finds out about in order to keep the country afloat.
They have to approve budgets in october, but they always argue on those, so they do CRs (this bill) that is a stop gap bill but now THAT got radicalized so people see a CR and say oh this is a stop gap, so they increase the pages and make people exhausted so they sign it. This is an October problem that is now waiting last minute to be solved!

Thank you so much. One observation I have made (I am Canadian) is the USA is run like 50 small countries....there are some laws that should be the same across the board like the age you can get married/drive/vote/drink alcohol/own a gun/divorce laws/certain crimes it would streamline the systems and keep certain bad actors from jumping to other states to avoid certain divorce settlements, or to go where you can get married at a younger age etc.
The problem isn't elites, the problem is people haven't been skeptical. People have the right to be elite, but experts aren't always right. People also have the right to disagree with the experts.
Tom Bilyeyu, your quotation of Thomas Sowell's statement, "There are no solutions, there are only trade-offs," has sparked my curiosity. I can't help but wonder if the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) mindset could be useful on the international level where there is anarchy. In my experience, when conflicts arise and time is limited, individuals often resort to strategies like giving orders, dishonesty, or negotiation. However, if both parties are open, willing to invest time, and possess the necessary skills, they can delve deeper than surface-level strategies and uncover the underlying human needs driving their desire for a particular solution. Then having a mindset of adaptability and flexibility when implementing the agreed-upon solution. As new insights and prospects emerge, the involved parties can adjust their agreements based on their evolving comprehension and wisdom, ensuring that everyone's needs continue to be met throughout the process.
Oh snap! It’s been switched to the Tom Bilyeu show from Impact Theory, morphing in to its next evolution of helping us out of the matrix. I’m here for it!

This is true... however 1500 pages for a bill is shady... I'm glad they brought transparency. A positive externality.
Great discussion! All the best from Germany to you Tom & Team!
Even after all these years you're still putting out amazing quality content! Thank you so much!
Aging like wine!
Andrew Bustamante analyst was the most honest and logical assessment of the current drone situation.
he's ex-CIA and by definition he is a liar
It blew my mind. I agree!
I agree with you, tom stop writing these long bills that address multiple things. It makes it impossible for the average person to decipher, and it hides things that convolute the bill it only serves to create distrust and division and paralyzes our process.
Agreed!
He too is interesting!
Thank you so much for everything you do! You have the best podcast ever created. Drew appears to rush his response to keep it short!!? I vote more Drew! We love him!
What a rational common sense take on current events.
Tom's Topic/Progress banner should be copied by all talk shows. It is the best format of any channel I've seen.
Let's Go!!!
Keep up with the conversations with Drew! Fantastic job to both of you. I love the way Tom gives additional context to his point of view and his humanity. I appreciate his efforts to be as knowledgeable yet open to other points of view. Well done.
We do need to be too truthful.. it’s all in HOW the words are spoken. However - If someone is not ready to hear the truth, their mind will automatically fill in resistance and fear. Keep speaking the truth. Eventually all will hear it. Thank you TOM for providing such a great open community platform. 🙏
Good conversation guys. 😎
Thanks for listening!
Thank you for including me in this conversation.
I like you going deeper into AI. I see this is a very important. Keep
It rolling
He did a solo deep dive last summer check it out!
This is a great discussion !
no it's not
no its NOT!
"A continuing resolution put forward by Republicans leading the House Appropriations Committee does attempt to allow an automatic congressional pay increase - which has drawn blowback from some members of Congress - but the maximum possible raise in 2025 would be 3.8%, not 40%."
Off by 0.4% really come on..
But why let pesky facts get in the way of your ignorance 🙄
The system as is clearly has deep flaws that need to be resolved, but we want to attract the best and brightest to leadership positions.
@@kyleleblancvlogs3820 And you're purposefully leaving out perpetuities and healthcare perks again so you can bootlick congress earning more than 90% of Americans.
But why let pesky facts get in the way of your ignorance 🙄
We are glad to have you as a unique resource, Tom. Keep doing you! You do more good than harm in this world. All that matters if and when battling questions of 'why' you are or aren't doing something. Blessings from Delaware.
Blessings back from LA!

I really enjoy the two of you like this in conversation.

Great channel evolution. I'd say it is 50% better than my last visit to the channel a year ago.
ChatGPT could summarize that document like a boss in no time 😂. Problem solved
That's a good idea, why isn't AI reading these bills before they are passed.
Thanks Tom for your insights and your way of cutting thru the hatred on both sides and bring clear thinking and meritocracy
1500 pages was a bipartisan splain-it-doc. We/you voted for these people to come up with this. Vote for what you are espousing next time.
Thank you
Lol I love you Tom… talking about ignoring the bullshit in the comments. You’re the man!!!
When Tom or Drew personally respond to my comment, i feel seen- JRE doesnt do that as Joe has stated which to me- will take him to an "out of touch" place - idk about everyone else but your all's response made me feel loyal to this show aka community- so thank you both! Happy happy holidays to everyone involved and the fans of IT❤🎉
Happy Holidays Julie!!!
@DrewDynamite04 Merry Christmas Drew! Keep being GREAT!
Hi Tom,
I admire your dedication to tackling complex societal issues and using your platform to amplify meaningful causes.
Thank you.
I have the same ears and mindset. Subbed for life.
Let’s go.

Question- why does the government shut down if a bill doesn't get passed? Thats a literal temper tantrum 😂❤🎉
Because they purposefully try to shove in extra bits into the bill (pay increase to congress + healthcare benefits in this case) whilst simultaneously giving a tight deadline for approval. They do this every year.
It’s because they have to fund themselves before the end of every fiscal year. It’s not with all bills, just the one close to the deadline
@@drockopotamus1 too much fox newsmax on here. Vivek is a liar but yall believe him😂😂
No maybe the explanation for the Hershey chocolate bar situation is that you convey the entire truth
I did and it scared her. I feel like we have to explain to the level of maturity but you can't do that on a large scale. But for my daughter you are right, which is why we were eating smore's a few nights ago!
Your guests aren't always the best but you make up for it with these talks
Tom, you should get Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris, and Eric Weinstein in an interview together to discuss truth :-)
I would do it in a heartbeat.
Peterson would add nothing and blabber the whole time
This would be absolutely riveting. I disagree about Jordan blabbering. He has a different POV which is needed.
A chat bot would probably do a good job of summarized the budget bill.
From what I hear they still struggle with bills. Haven’t dig deep enough to know why.
@@TomBilyeu Do you think it's as simple as fine tuning on a lot of similar legal documents? Kind of surprising there's not AI companies like Harvey ai doing it

Great discussion Tom.
Wonder if Tom will ever talk about Trump wanting to remove the debt ceiling completely?
Nice to see you back in my YT Feed. It seems like it should be easy to remember to only watch my favorite channels, but I swear, lately the algorithm has been working over time to get me to watch clickbait and AI generated channels on YT.
- Hey UA-cam, come up with away to let people keep there favorite channels pinned!

i like this.. it's like the news w/o the toxic one-sided bias
I think Tom is intelligent, but thinking that this segment didn’t have one - sided bias is silly. Tom absolutely allows bias to cloud his judgement.
@@meganhill8598 He goes out of his way to steel-man the other side of the argument. Hardly anyone does that. Tom is closer to the truth than most on that alone.
I really enjoy this podcast. You're seriously talking about all the things I find fascinating today. Will it be cool if you can get someone from character AI
Hey Tom I recommend trying the Claude models for example sonnet 3.5 or the haiku. The personality training behind those models is so much more powerful than the GPT models from openai. The quality is night and day.
I would love to hear what you think
Here's how we can fix all of our issues. Keep spending money in every other country except for ours, that's it.
love toms way of thinking and analogies
Thank you so much. One observation I have made (I am Canadian) is the USA is run like 50 small countries....there are some laws that should be the same across the board like the age you can get married/drive/vote/drink alcohol/own a gun/divorce laws/certain crimes it would streamline the systems and keep certain bad actors from jumping to other states to avoid certain divorce settlements, or to go where you can get married at a younger age etc.
The problem isn't elites, the problem is people haven't been skeptical. People have the right to be elite, but experts aren't always right. People also have the right to disagree with the experts.
I hope the virtual experiences will empower people to be more agentic in shaping the real world
Tom Bilyeyu, your quotation of Thomas Sowell's statement, "There are no solutions, there are only trade-offs," has sparked my curiosity.
Great Point! If you want to take advantage of somebody, make the deal unnecessarily complicated (ie. 1500 pages of complicated)
Oh snap! It’s been switched to the Tom Bilyeu show from Impact Theory, morphing in to its next evolution of helping us out of the matrix. I’m here for it!
I understand. "If it can be done, it will be done." It's not about morality. It's about human nature. Thanks!
