So awesome to see the excitement Bro! That’s what it’s all about. My Son caught his first Bass this past weekend and I’m sure it’s not his last. Nice setup, I have the Calcutta Conquest 400 for my heavy Swimbait setup. I have G Loomis rods but not the Swimbait models. Can’t go wrong with your set up! I know this is a few years old but it was cool to watch. Thanks for posting!
I rock a Dobyns Fury 795, and 806 with Curado 200ks, and a 13 fishing 8 ft heavy with a Kast King 300 Kapstan. Im looking at these to step up my game. My other option is the Dobyns Champion Xp and 300 tranx. I don't care as much for round reels in the palm, but I know that Conquest is fire.
Nice video thanks for the info is yours your rod the 8’or is it the 7’7”or the 7’6”I noticed that Matt Allen recommends this rod as well But there are few different options Three options being the ones that you would probably select because of the lure ratings
This is an 8 footer! I wanted to really dive into swimbait fishing and im so glad i did. It changed the way I approach breaking down new water and catching some nice fish!
If your body of water is getting tough, try throwing bigger baits. Or just upsize your offerings. As far as colors go, anything that’s vibrant or intrusive because a lot of times you have to make them react rather than fooling them!
I think to buy the same fishing rod but I’m scary is to strong for s-waver 168 on my other hand soon be new megabass levante is so hard to make decisions Can you tell anything about this rod?
The rod is awesome!!! To be honest, the rod is a bit much for an s- waver 168 but the hardware (hooks and split rings) hold up nicely. But I would definitely say to throw a 168 just to get a feel for the rod. Then you can start throwing larging baits with more control and feel more comfortable with your gear. The bait can still be fished on that lommis 966 with no problem!!!!
Do you think you can set the hook on a 10/0 or 12/0 beast with that rod? I bought it already but it's back-ordered. Can't really fish the jig hooks on my 8' huds because of TONS of brush so I took the harness of a hud and rigged a 10/0 weighted beast. What's your take on that? Locked drag on 65 braid to 30 mono
I bought the rod just because tacticalbassin said its their all around favorite swimbait combo and I trust those guys. I set the hook pretty hard, sometimes I break off on the hookset when using regular tackle. I was worried because man those beast hooks, they're really beefy.
Hey Ricardo, you can attach that hook to a boat thats passing by and pull the boat towards you!! Lol. Its that strong!!! This rod will plant that hook very easily, you dont have to worry about a think. But you will have to get used to the long cork handle, and once you do, you can hammer home!
@@anglersadjustments811 Thanks man, sweet setup you got going on there btw and congrats on those catches. More and more I feel like I'm gonna feel just as happy as you with this rod, thanks again!
I personally think its a bit too much rod, and i like a softer tip on the end of the rod. I could see you throwing it but I wouldn’t use this rod for that purpose. I feel that other rods do the job more efficiently!
